The best smoked turkey on a sandwich! Also, there is an authentic feel inside the store. You feel like you’re in a place that has been a town staple for quite a while!

BEST deli in town. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Anastasia will probably not be missed at Morris’ Deli… Haha Why keep going back if they’re SO terrible? I have been there hundreds of times and they have never messed up a single order of mine! The homemade vegetable beef soup is AMAZING!

Small spot on Taylorsville Road that sell booze and has a terrific tiny deli. Not a lot of items for sale but the items that are all well worth your money to try. Sliced country ham and their smoked city ham are out of sight! Ham salad was in demand so was the potato salad. Lines always but moves fast staff helpful and generally nice people who care about your visit!

Everything at Morris Deli is homemade and delicious! Might I suggest you try the bean soup, potato salad, and ANY sandwich you get will be freshly made(meat and cheese closed right in front of you). There’s always a wide selection of chips and cold soft drinks, as well as an EXTENSIVE selection of beers in the cooler. I’ve been eating at Morris Deli for the better part of 20 years and I have NEVER been treated with anything but kindness. I know the employees names and they know mine. They frequently ask about my family and take a genuine interest in their loyal customer base. Morris Deli is the best!

My husband and I stopped in one afternoon on a whim. I’d heard good things about their Rueben sandwich and so we decided to give it a go. We both ordered the Rueben and sat at one of the tables to wait for our food. While waiting, I heard one of the women working behind the lunch counter berate not one but two different customers. I did not hear the customer say anything to deserve the berating and I didn’t hear them speak back in defense. Maybe it’s part of the place’s aesthetic. Eat OK food and get yelled at by the employees! Fun! I don’t think I’ll be going back again. The food wasn’t good enough to warrant listening to people get yelled at for no apparent reason.

My entire office and I make weekly stops for their sandwiches! I can’t believe it has been there the entire time! I love their smoked tuna and smoked turkey. My co-workers rave about their country ham sandwiches. Honestly I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you get here. I’m so glad we finally stopped in and tried it! This place is so good, that we eat here 2 – 3 times a week!

Using Unilocal we happened on this jewel while attending the Clemson vs Louisville football game. It is strictly a carry out place but well worth it. Very crowded as you can imagine with lots of liquor and a fantastic walk in cold storage beer vault — perhaps 15×20 feet. I have never seen so many varieties of beers in my life(then again, I can’t claim to be predominantly a beer drinker.) Ordered two country ham sandwiches with lettuce tomato, mustard. They were just what we wanted. Salty country ham like we got in Virginia growing up. Nice amount of meat on the sandwich. Also got a large chicken noodle soup which was to die for. Lots of chicken and noodles with a very good broth and not too salty. Parking is limited. All in all, I’d make it a point to go back there for a pick up meal.

Bad Service Alert! Terrible, horrible customer relations without any apologies! Note: They will always mess up your order. They do not care. First, I was sold Bud Light that had been put in a Stella 6-pack carton… did not notice the switch until we went to drink it. When I called to discuss the problem they tried to say I switched it and not issue a refund. I order food to go several times a month and there is always something missing once we get into the bag. The soup, the sides, something. Maddening! How hard is it to check the order? People cannot take time to drive back and«catch you next time» doesn’t cut it. I spoke to management previously about all the issues and thought things would be better. In his defense, Joe issued me a small credit and had someone drive my soup to me because I threw a huge fit when the last screw up occurred. Ugh. Today, I called to ask a question about a gift certificate I bought for the Deli from , so instead of answering my simple question, the gentleman said he knew nothing about the certificates and would not accept it. This is when I had 15 minutes for lunch… he argued with me my whole lunch period and refused to take the certificate… for 10 dollars! That is not his decision when I redeem the item. It is not my concern if he does not know of the certificates his marketing team has sold. Where is the customer service here??? I love their delicious sandwiches but this crap is not worth it. It is ALWAYS stressful to do business here, every time. Unless you like stress and bad service and missing items all the time, BEWARE. I will go to Stevens & Stevens or Epic Sammich now, sorry Morris Deli but this is how you lose customers to the competition. Good Food + Bad Service = Lost Customers Like ME.

First time here, like everyone has said it is not much to look at. But the food is damn good, I had the pork chop sandwich with pickles and onions. .fantastic. also had a country ham on white bread which was fantastic. My wife had the French dip and it would melt in your mouth. The pimento cheese spread was just as delightful..

Just recently came upon this gem. But I’m addicted now, friendly staff and great deli selections. Come at least once a week!

Best lunch spot in Louisville, hands down. Best Reuben in the world, best veggie beef soup this side of the Atlantic, best service available. You can NOT go wrong with a trip to Morris Deli. You can buy beer and liquor here too, and at a good price. Keep Louisville weird.

Do you just love a deli sandwich? They are my weakness. And this is the closest thing in Louisville you will get to a neighborhood deli in Chicago or NYC. It’s nestled in a package liquor store and can easily be missed from the road if your not paying attention. You enter in its a cramped place with a few tables and a counter and immediately you are greeted. My first time I went with my 3yr old who is kind of a handful at times but the entire staff couldn’t have been nicer to him getting down on his level to see what he wanted to eat first. All meats are smoked in house and the soups are homemade which is an awesome touch. I’ve been a handful of times now and had 5 or 6 different sandwiches. The French dip was ok but not fabulous, I think it may have been my choice in bread(ciabatta maybe not best choice). The corned beef is awesome, but the country ham and cheese sandwich has been my favorite. The chicken salad was flavorful and creamy with good texture as well. While they quickly make your food it’s a great time to wonder the old ice vault and browse their beer selection. Prices are excellent. Overall this is a very good place to grab a sandwich if your in the area.

Hands down best deli in town. They smoke their own meats and hand cut their lunch meats. No processed food here, it is all made onsite. Try the country ham salad, it is off the hook. They can make any sandwich that you can think of, everything is very fresh.

This is my favorite place to get a sandwich, hands down. Everyone who works there is super friendly, and the food is constantly high quality. I love a simple corned beef sandwich, and theirs is really good. The soups are also pretty delicious.

I must have driven by Morris’ 150 times before finally deciding to stop in upon several recommendations. And, man, I am glad that I did. The delicatessen features amazing made-to-order deli sammiches from a well-oiled crew that is adept at handling large crowds, quite friendly and knows exactly what makes a delicious lunch. I’ve sampled some superb creations ranging from their Rubens to turkey & cheddar on rye. Never disappointed, reasonable price and a nice change of pace from the standard nationwide chain lunch options. So, as you speed down Taylorsville Road trying to make that frustrating light at Bardstown, swing by the tiny parking lot and give Morris a shot. I think you’ll dig it! Bonus: they also have a lunch counter on the main floor of the Downtown YMCA. Woo!

Oh, how I love this place. Super old school, amazing deli located in a liquor store. Best country ham in town; and the turkey is also excellent. Hot pickles and mustard that will fry your sinuses, in a good way. Laid-back, super friendly staff. Dark Sith Lord Mitch McConnell has been spotted eating here(or at least getting takeout). This city doesn’t have enough great delis, but this one would be among the best in any town.

This is my favorite deli in Louisville. The people that work here are super nice and friendly. I feel like I’m walking back in time where people trust you to pay at the end for what you had. It’s also extremely reasonably priced. You can get a sandwich, side and drink for less than $ 10. It’s very casual. On to the food, the country ham is the place to be. I always get a country ham sandwich and it’s extremely filling and delicious. I also really like their soups, especially the chili and white bean and ham. I really have never had anything I didn’t like at Morris. I highly recommend Morris as a perfect lunch spot.

Heck– everything they serve is phenomenal and they are open 7 days a week! Don’t forget to check out the selection of beers, wines, and liquors available. It’s goouuooouuuoood!

Dropped in here today for first time in a while; I love it, earlier review stands. Deli meats, great chops to go with the chips, a low-key, local flavor that makes you feel comfortable – and those sandwiches and wraps are a steal, don’t underestimate Morris’ or pass it by because of its looks.

This is one of those places that you can drive by a thousand times and never think twice. Next time you have a hankering for a deli sandwich, or some good smoked meat, you gotta check this place out. You see that big olé smoker out front? Yes… yes I do. I chatted it up with the shopkeep for a bit. He was kind enough to give me a sample of their country ham. Amazing. Salty, smokey, and flavorful. After bit I decided to order the chopped pork and lamb sandwich. Warning — if you haven’t had lamb before you may be in for a surprise. A little lamb goes a long way as its flavor is very unique and powerful when juxtaposed with the pork. It is topped off with a black pepper BBQ sauce. The sandwich was phenomenal. Both the pork and lamb played well together and the sauce complemented the meat perfectly. There was a defined, but not overpowering smokey flavor. Don’t skip over their fine selection of craft bottled sodas, either. Family owned places like this are hard to come by these days. Furthermore, you have no idea how long a place like this is going to stay around. So do yourself a favor and try it out. You won’t regret it.
