If you work downtown and are looking for a casual spot to meet a friend or a business associate for lunch, this is a winner. Soups, sandwiches, pasta salads. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s good and reliable. Plus, they often have live music for lunch. I can’t really think of any other midday dining location with this feature. I recommend the Benedictine and the pimiento cheese sandwiches. There’s something about this spot that feels a little bit like a Cracker Barrel. Maybe it’s the décor, but it feels like home. It’s comfortable and friendly.

Miss C’s is a solid restaurant with great local flavor! They use Kentucky products when they can and make sandwiches that very Kentuckian/Louisvillian. I had a Turkey with swiss and an orange cranberry relish that was phenomenal. I split half my sandwich and traded it with a friend for half of the club. The club is gigantic and very filling. Everything tasted really good. I had a cup of chili and it had solid flavor but wasn’t very distinctive. The deserts are also really good! Ice cream sandwiches are made with homemade cookie and the brownie sundae is great! I was not impressed with the lack of flavor in the sweet tea. Full disclosure: I received this meal for free.

Overall I liked Miss Cs’. The pimento cheese sandwich was good but the atmosphere was the best. Very quaint and simple and the live music was a great touch for a downtown lunch location.

Nice lunch place. I had the daily special — The Reuben — and it was excellent!(Pic Posted) The potato salad was top notch. One of the two Miss C’s chatted with me as a mandolin and an accordian played live at the front window. Very nice lady and very nice service. They have brewed Ice Tea which is HUGE — so many going to the dreaded bag in the box. It was a tad difficult to find due to the construction scaffold in front of the sign — but that’ won’t last forever(It’s in the Henry Clay building). I found a meter spot just across the street and there are lots nearby. I will go back!

The best club sandwich in Louisville gets this place 5 stars. Iced tea is great as well.

Great spot to meet for lunch downtown since there’s usually free meter spaces around. I like that it’s really efficient to get in and out, but still has a comfy and charming atmosphere. You order and pay at the counter but the dining room feels cozy like you’re welcome to stay as long as you like. The menu states that the club sandwich is huge and it’s not a lie. It’s delicious and well worth saving for a second meal later. Two other awesome reasons to love their food: they have sides other than fries and chips(delicious roasted veggies) and they’re a Kentucky proud restaurant so they use local foods when possible. For regulars, they do a raffle drawing every day and post the winning ticket from the previous day on the door which is a pretty neat perk if Miss C’s is on your daily foot route.

I am currently eating their white chili, which was the special today. And it’s pretty good. The bowl size is bigger than I anticipated I was in early and getting my food to go, so I didn’t get a real feel for the place. But it looked adorable. And the ladies were very sociable and talkative. A very selective menu, but I would be interested in going back sometime and trying a sandwich and perhaps a dessert. I do love that it is so close to my office.

This is a great little weekday sandwich place. The two Miss Cs are Charlotte and Chris, and they serve good lunches — Louisville dishes(pimento cheese, Benedictine, as well as Ham and Brie, Turkey and Swiss, etc.) with Kentucky ingredients. None of their sandwiches has blown me away, but the attention to detail is great. Good ingredients, fresh fruit and good pickles on the side. Daily soups. My girlfriend got a slice of quiche the other day(which was a special) and it was really, really good. Tomatoes served only when in season. Everything under $ 8. These women like to cook, and the specials are worth a look.(They religiously update their Facebook page.) What does knock me out is the house-made ice cream. Their«bluegrass» flavor is made with fresh mint, chocolate chips and bourbon, and it’s special. But all their flavors are creamy and delicious. They had a peach recently that was excellent, but that was probably seasonal. They also serve homemade sorbets that have no peer(as far as I know) here in town. Not too icy, I think I can taste booze in there(probably to keep it from freezing solid). Creative flavors like lime basil and blackberry are delicious on a hot day. The atmosphere is great too. The Henry Clay building is gorgeous, and they have musicians in here all the time. It’s not opulent or formal, just comfortable and warm. Be sure to walk through the historic building’s lobby afterward.
