I was headed from Indianapolis to South Carolina and realized that I had forgotten my race shoes!!! Idiot! I was frantic and used Unilocal and it gave me this business! I called and the lady assisted me over the phone with my selection. When I got to the store she had went the extra mile and grabbed me some that were on clearance!!! You rock! Thanks so much for your amazing customer service and quality show! I love my Inov-​8!

I bought a pair of Brooks in Jan ’15 from Ken Combs after being diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. The girl that helped me was amazing — went out of her way to make sure I was fitted with a perfect fit!
However, we went back today and I was so excited about how I «thought» we were going to be helped. The sales person (Christopher) asked if I needed anything. I explained about my previous purchase and what my foot situation was. I showed him the shoe I would like to try — he retrieved a different one, and I stated I really preferred the other. He was very rude, boxed up what he brought out and returned with the one I chose. I asked if I should try the «bad» foot or the other and he said «whatever» in a very arrogant tone. I put the shoe on, he was watching the TV — I stood up, walked a bit and he never said another word. I took the shoe off– handed it back and left so upset.
Very disappointed !!!

The support these people give is amazing! I’m the Clydesdale age group division kind of guy but I always feel like I’m a record setting athlete when I talk to the guys here. Glad to have this store in the community!
Don’t shop online for this kind of merchandise — visit people that can give you the ins and outs and be there to support you on race day!

My daughter runs cross country and has a difficult time with finding shoes that meet her specific needs. We have been going to Ken Combs for years and have always received excellent service! The staff is very patient and knowledgeable, the store is well set up, neat and clean. We will continue to get our family’s running shoes here as it is one of our very favorite local businesses.

I really love my Altra running shoes from Ken Combs Running Store! They are supportive and comfortable. I had worn the same shoe for years, but glad I listened to the friendly clerk at KCRS who explained the benefits of this cushioned, zero drop shoe. This shoe is worth breaking from your norm!!! Pretty sure the Altra will run me to some PR’s.

What impressed me the most was the knowledge, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The shoes were a perfect fit and just what I needed! I have since suggested this store to friends who are traveling in the area as THE place to shop for their running gear.

I have been a competitive runner for thirty years. I was visiting Louisville and forgot my running shoes, so I stopped here to buy them. When I asked for my shoe, the shoe that I have been loyally wearing and winning in for years, I was greeted with ignorance and arrogance. I would not recommend going there – the only bad service I received in my week-​long visit to Louisville.

I am a fairly experienced young runner so I generally go into the store knowing exactly what I want. However, the staff here are friendly and outgoing and willing to share from the collective knowledge learned through the experiences of the staff and customers here. From shoes and clothes to energy food and massage sticks, this locally-​owned store has everything a runner could need along with a staff that knows just what to recommend.

The good and trusted people at John’s Run Walk Shop in Lexington told me about Ken Combs.
The store has a great selection of running items although their shoe selection was a bit smaller than I would have liked. That said, they had the shoes I needed and they answered all the pointless questions about shoes I was not going to buy.
I think I will return.
