Came here one day after work. It’s a nice family own shop! The lady is super nice! Super helpful! On customer service she gets 6 stars everything else is typically Mongolian bbq. But the customer service will keep me coming back!

I’d rather eat at the mall. For their lunch special, I got the regular bowl($ 9.45) but they charge you extra($ 1) if you want noodles and only choose 1 type of meat; beef is $ 1 extra. The server will ask you what type of meat and if you want noodles; she’ll give them to you in 2 separate small bowls, but will give you a bowl twice as big for«veggies.»

I wasn’t convinced when I walked in there’s not a single person in the business. I was just about to walk out and the owner came out from her office and invited us to stay. She walked us over to the salad section and we grabbed all the vegetables she gave us a lot of vegetables and chicken. She then sat sat us down and offered us drinks and she came over again and we all had a conversation. I was amazed at the amount of food that was on my plate. They only have one beer Tsingtao, but the stir fry she cooked up for us was so delicious.

The hostess they’ve always had until recently has been barely tolerable. She hovers and tells you what bowls to use for choosing your food to be grilled. The newest hostess is a crazy jerk. She did the controlling bowl thing and then hovered over me in line and made me come up and pay before the guy could cook my food. She was beligerant about it and was blatantly rude. After she left the front the cook turned around and told me she’s crazy. I’m not going to put up with this for food that is bland, at best. Never going back again.

We were dropping of my hubby at LAX, and decided to eat here since we read about it in the paper. This place is small– about 5 tables, it is clean and rated A. I’m giving it only 3 stars because of price. The«menu» on the table had Dinner 3 different choices, and it turned out only ONE option was available — ONETRIP for $ 14.95. Sorry food not worth $ 15.

My brother invited me to lunch and brought me here. It is family owned and ran by a husband and a wife. They are both very nice as soon as you walk in the door. Unlike the Mongolian BBQ at the mall that give you one bow for meat, noodle, and veggies, your order includes three separate plates for each. A bowl for your choice of meat, the also have tofu for those who don’t eat meat. You get a bowl of noodles and a big bowl for veggies. You can also add spice of juices to your own noodles or you can ask the lady to flavor it up for you too. Once you’re done creating your master piece the husband cooks it for you and it is plated for you. Overall I had an amazing experience and would recommend it for locals and for hungry Unilocalers who wanna try something fresh and authentic. P.S they have alcohol too(sake, beer, wine, you name it).

Mongolian has got to be one of my all time favorite foods to eat. That being said, I’ve had my fair share and know what’s good and what’s substandard. This place is a cozy place owned and operated by a mother and daughter. Or so it seemed. The lady seating people was super sweet and very personable. They have everything one wild expect for a Mongolian restaurant. The veggies were all fresh and the meat selection was good. After choosing the meat of you like pile on the veggies and sauces then hand… Well, I’m assuming you know what to do. Look. It’s good. Enjoy!

Typical Mongolian BBQ. Choose your meat, they pile the frozen glory into your bowl, add some veggies and they cook it on a master grill with noodles. The good thing about this place is you add your own veggies so you can be as liberal or as skimpy as you wish so long as it fits in the bowl. I still think the Mongolian Grill in the Westfield Culver City(Fox Hills) mall is better in flavor. Plus, the owner here is meh. She charged me a $ 0.50 to-go fee for the styrofoam container and didn’t tell me or give me an itemized receipt. Only way I know is because I couldn’t figure out the total and just read about it on here! Pretty unlawful.

Yeesssss!!! I love this place. Apparently this place is 47years in the making! :) The best thing is, you don’t have to go to a mall and walk thru all the teenie-boppers smelling like Abercrombie to get here!!! Drive up to the private parking lot and get your food! The sweet old Asian lady gets the meat for you, so you can’t really choose how much mean you get, but they have more veggies than most! They have a sloped hot plate, so the fat drips off your food $ 13 for a to go order of 1-bowl of beef and veggies, but more than enough for a full meal… especially if its your only meal for the day

Well, I have been loving Mongolian Bar-B-Q Since 1989. My experience here is like most of the reviews:(sadly:(just a weird other world of Mongolian:((( No More all you can eat! She Said ! Same price as all you can eat on the menu! She Said! $ 4.00 Extra for Lamb and she Lied and said it was only for Lunch? So my girlfriend said I want to pay and get Lamb! And the lady said ok extra charge. Crazy! The T.V. Is blasting Fox News like everybody has said. Annoying! OK ! There Bar-B-Q is slanted? The only one cook poured my food on the grill and All my sauces were Gone:((( He added bad tap water to cook all my food! And they have No lemon for there Awful tap water. It took Forever to get our food for 4 at the table together! 30 mins.+ I ordered only 1 beer for our table for 4 people and it took 15 mins to show up and the place had exactly only 8 costumer’s! We are all Mongolian Lovers so we knew how to make our favorite bowls so we were full and it was just not above average and I’m not being mean:) it was passable. There bread pockets are great but we had to Pay for a Tablespoon of Sesame Seeds for $ 0.50! Each! Unbelievable. It was our Dinner before The U2 Concert at The Forum. We all love Mongolian Period. $ 80 for 4 of 2 guys &2 girls! No soup! No appetizer only 1 plate and never came to Ask about drinks or water after my 1 Beer! The lady and grandma are hanging on to there place but they need to retire:( I feel bad for them cause Nickle&Dimeing everything and Not having all you can eat for $ 16 or $ 17 is Crazy! The noodles are Extra Charge! Crazy! And they were chalky and something strange with them after I ate them:((yuk! Very Bad and there are a thousand other places to try next time we are in town to see a show. Bye! Your 3 Flames are Out. Lying about price’s and hiding food only to charge you for what we expect for Dinner like water and drinks and a Honest Menu $$$ Kookoomaluku

$ 19.95 for all you can eat, although they charge extra for those rolls. Choice of chicken or pork; beef and shrimp are extra cost… Decent selection of fresh vegetables plus rice or noodles. The selection of sauces is limited but works. All in, I would rather spend $ 20 and go to an AYCE Korean BBQ place. Not bad, just not great, either. Yeah, the owner is a character who likes to blast Fox News on her loud TV but I ignored that/her. I don’t think I will be coming back but wanted to try this place.

This is my far the worse customer service I have ever experienced for one plate of very little meat the vegetables were bad I did Not want to eat that at all. When I asked Susan for a refund she had a very bad attitude and said she could not refund our money I had to threaten to call the police she started yelling said in her exact words«I pissed her off«. Lol. Wow I couldn’t believe she was talking to me that way This was my first time there. After she saw we were calling the police to file s report she gave us a refund. A few people that had just sat down at their table also left. I will never return And bet it will close soon with that type of customer service. Bye Felicia

Hadn’t been here for a couple of years, which is a real shame, considering how tasty the food is. Vegetables were really really fresh, and the noodles I had with the meal were nicely al dente. The very affable owner says that the difference is the cast iron bbq, but I’m betting that the ingredients play a larger part. The only drawback is that the TV seems to be locked on Fox News, which is only slightly less conducive to a pleasant dining experience than WWE Wrestling. Fortunately Hannity wasn’t on, or I would have asked to have the set shut off — he’s WAY more annoying than WWE. Apart from that one little annoyance, though, I recommend the place highly. Terrific food at a reasonable — which is not to say cheap, but reasonable — price.

Three Flames is a little hole in the wall that serves up some tasty lunch that you create. I don’t know why it’s called three flames since there is the one iron griddle and during the lunch hour, your creation can be cooked along with someone else’s. Needless to say, people with fish allergies or people who are strict vegetarians, should not partake.

LOVEIT!!! FABULOUS, FRESH, TASTY, FOOD, and a VERYENTERTAININGOWNER. :-) Been going here since 1979. I knew the original owner, Shirley, and her then husband Jack. The current owner, Chen, was a waitress back then. She was always very charming, and even a bit shy, but always gave GREAT service, and was consistently helpful and friendly. Now a days, as her regular customers know, Chen is anything but shy. :-) And, even though she’s got FOXNEWS on the TV all day, which is so NOT my station, her obvious zealousness to share her many thoughts, feelings, and opinions with the customers can either be very entertaining, or not, depending on your POV. Personally, I find her VERY entertaining, and again, THEFOODISCONSISTENTLYGREAT. Which is why I’ve been a regular customer since 1979. I’ve eaten at many different Mongolian BBQ’s over the years, and for me, THREEFLAMES has got the best tasting food hands down. They have a nice variety of fantastic homemade sauces. All made with the best quality ingredients. NOMSG, NO artificial sweeteners, or ingredients. Great variety of meats, and veggies to select from and combine with the sauces to build your own custom stir fry. Including noodles. All fresh, and cooked to perfection on their convex, Mongolian griddle by cooks who really know what they’re doing. AWESOME!!! GREAT big portions for a fair price during lunch, and for dinner, it’s «ALLYOUCANEAT»… ya just can’t beat it. It’s a GREAT deal. One of the Unilocal reviews I read stated INCORRECTLY that the buttery, sesame seed biscuits [called«Shao Bing”] have had some sort of change in the recipe … but… NOTTRUE… I was there yesterday, and they are the same delicious, amazing biscuits I’ve been eating there since 1979. Plus, I confirmed this with Chen, the owner. Another Unilocaler, who recently wrote a nasty review«claims» his wife got sick the first time they ate there… but they went back a second time??? Really? Very hard to believe this Unilocaler… if you read his review, it sounds like he’s just trying to be vindictive because he didn’t get along with either the owner, Chen, or another person who works there. Either way, his review does not come across as credible to me because in over 35+ years of eating at THREEFLAMES and bringing dozens, and dozens of friends here, I’ve NEVER heard of anyone ever getting sick from this place. NEVER. The food is always fresh and well managed. Anyway… if you’ve never tried this place, I encourage you to do so. It’s SO worth it. There’s good reason they’ve been open, and in business for over 40 years. They have a great concept, and they execute it well. Simple. Enjoy. A

I absolutely loved the food. VERY delicious. Service by the owner, her mom, and one cook was cheerful and gracious: small store = small staff. I agree that they are expensive. However we went during lunch and the portions were plentiful for the base prices of $ 10& $ 12. I can’t imagine anyone needing more food. I wasn’t fond of everything on top of the bare basics being an extra charge, but maybe that could be a plus for those who don’t want the extras…

The first time we came here my wife got sick. However, the service was not that bad. The lady who is probably the owner, she was more friendly, she let me change the channel on the tv as no one was watching it and they had a news program on. She was a little overly chatty but she had a cool spirit and was trying to help the customers have a good experience as best as she could. The second time was unbelievable! It was the worse service ever, this nefarious woman was different from the first lady. She was really rude, mean and ugly! From the moment we walked in, they had a disturbing news program on which isn’t the best ambiance for a restaurant, especially when you’re eating with your family(my wife and I had our 10 year old son with us). So, I asked if I could change the station as once again no one was watching it and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant(FIRSTREDFLAG!) and this dark spirited woman starts the night off by lying and saying that the TV only gets one station and that there are no other stations. i immediately called her out on her BullSh*t and told her that it does have other stations and that I was there not too long ago and the other channels worked fine. So she reluctantly hands over the remote and what do you know… hmmm, the other stations seem to be working fine. SECONDREDFLAG! Then before we are even ready to order she starts telling us the to go boxes are fifty cents or some low price and I’m thinking to myself like, so what, who cares. I’m probably not going to even need a to go box. Then she starts trying to hard sell bread for a dollar like 4 times. Now, i’m starting to feel a little uncomfortable. I politely let her know that if we are interested in bread we will let her know and to please give us a few minutes to decide what we want. After we order our food, I ordered a Chinese beer which was good and my wife ordered a glass of wine but then changed her mind right away and then the lady started to give us a grief about that and then that’s when I let her know that she is not being very hospitable and is giving us terrible service. I also let her know that the owner or main lady who is there all the time was very friendly and would never treat us like this. Then she reluctantly brought the beer for my wife. As we’re getting ready to leave, there is a discrepancy on the bill. We get into another argument and then she reluctantly corrects the bill. After I pay the bill my son asks for a to go box which is like fifty cents. I have no problem with that because we knew that when we came in and saw the sign on the wall. So I asked for a to go box for my son, after she brings it, she stands by the table over our shoulder demanding the fifty cents. I said we’ll pay it before we leave and then she just kept standing there breathing down our necks like pay and get out so then it got really ugly. We got into a big argument about her hovering over our table and we weren’t even finished. I put the fifty cents on the table and threw the food on the wall! Not only that but the bill was ridiculously high. We eat Mongolian all the time so we know the market prices for Mongolian plates and all you can eats or multiple plates, well this was for only one serving per person and was almost $ 60 for 2 adults and 1 small bowl for our son, 2 bread orders with 2 beers. We will never ever step foot in this place ever again and I’ll be glad the day I drive by and see that restaurant shut down for such horrible service and over charging customers. «Intrare periculo tuo!» You’ve been warned.

I have been patronizing Three Flames Mongolian Bar-B-Q for over 10 years now and in that time, very little has changed… which is absolutely a good thing! This place was amazing and cool before the whole«Mongolian barbecue» craze took hold. The place is never empty but you’ll always be able to grab a seat. The staff is exceptionally friendly and awesome, always making you feel welcomed and appreciated. The menu offers a wealth of options but I always opt for their signature Mongolian bbq because. why else would you come here? I typically go for the shaved chicken, which I then load up with lots of vegetables and sauce and then it’s ready for the grill! Once it’s done(which takes less than 5 minutes), it’s back to my table where my smoking plate of goodness is joined up with various side dishes including wantons, kimchee, and bread. Add to the fact that you can easily exit for less than $ 15 per person and what is not to love about this place?
