The Upstairs Studio

Tap dancing always puts a smile on my face. I ws delighted to discover The Upstairs Studio over 15 years ago because Jane, the director and my teacher, excels in teaching, choreographing, and dancing. Learning new routines with my fellow tap dancers is such fun!

I started tapping, as a beginner, at the Upstairs Studio a few years ago. For an adult who had never tapped, Jane gave thorough and easy to understand instructions. I got the basics and then moved up to a more advanced class. Jane encouraged and challenged me. I love the people I dance with and we always have a great time together. I look forward to my weekly classes and find myself tapping at any given moment. I LOVE IT!

I teach here, so I’m biased, but this really is the only tap dancing studio on the Westside. So if you love to tap, get yourself on over here!

Mark, one of the instructors at the studio, is wonderful. He is so positive, kind, friendly, and warm. My daughter, who is 7 years old, and I take private tap lessons with him and once we are in the studio, learning how to tap, we are both so happy to be there. My daughter loves showing people her new tap moves that she has quickly learned from Mark. I love being about to take tap classes with her in environment that is clean and breezy, and with a teacher who clearly loves what he is doing. He is a gem. There is plenty of street parking. The studio is upstairs in a back studio of a house. There may be some dog barking going up to the studio, but the dogs are kept indoors and it’s only barking.
