This place is a gem. The barista was warm and offered my man and I a sample of the ‘boom trip mocha’ and it was delicious!!! It took me back to being a young girl sippin’ yoohoo’s without a care in the world. We were visiting from Phoenix and he made us feel like a local. Thank you and we WILL see you again!

As far as renting out the theatre I feel like I was back doored because I’m a young black woman trying to throw an event. Before I met with the guy in charge of the booking of the theatre his communication was excellent. However, after stopping by the place he stopped replying to me as a whole even when I was ready to put the money down to hold the date. The staff was very welcoming and sweet showing me around though. Sucks I couldn’t get the same treatment as anybody else looking to do business.

The only part I’ve experienced has been the café side but I love the outdoor space. There is lots of greenery which protects you from seeing all the cars passing by. If you need to get work done it’s a peaceful spot equally nice location to meet up with friends.

It’s great to have a venue like this in the neighborhood, Mark has taken over management of both the café and theatre recently, and has been more flexible with the space for performances… I’ve done a show there myself, and have popped in fairly frequently on open mic nights. I imagine the space will grow in popularity over time. Seating in the theatre can be anywhere from 40 with tables to somewhere near 70 I would think(without tables). The patio is the star when it comes to grabbing lunch or coffee, and that isn’t to say the food and coffee isn’t good or great… My favorite at this point is the Kale Slaw… Though it’s also nice to be able to grab a beer or wine, at a small theatre. The patio is a great place to meet up and chat. Inside seating is limited to a few small tables(within the café), and can get loud when there are people waiting to go in for a show. Park can be a bit tough, with the side street filling up quickly, but there are unmetered spots, as well as metered spots, and usually there are spots available. The café stays open later on nights when there is a show in the theater, so tip is to call and find out what time they’re closing on a particular night, if you’re in the mood for a spot in.

This place is amazing. I have to convince myself not to go everyday otherwise I would spend all my money. The coffee is great. The people who work here are great! I’ve had different variations of the same drink and it’s always delicious. No matter what, it always hits the spot.

The people at this café are always so friendly! They give my dog probably more attention than they give me… every dog lover is okay with that. Food is decent for toaster oven food. I enjoy the tea and coffee.

Awesome place. Great coffee, great food, great atmosphere. But the Lyric Hyperion Theatre Café has a secret. This establishment hath reached deep into the mysteries beyond the veils of time/space/existence to forge an item not even ancient myth dare describe. This impossible alchemy I speak of is known only as: THEBOOMTRIP. Caffeine and fancy dessert in a cup. Some may call it a hazelnut chocolate concoction. I call it LIFE. Legend has it that a Tiramisu and gourmet mocha partook in the physical act of love thus conceiving this liquid offspring whom has arrived to be the savior of us all. Save us, Boom Trip. All hail the Boom Trip. In Boom Trip we trust.

Solid food/drink options(& all day breakfast), amazing service and outlets everywhere — even outdoors. Such a gem, will definitely be back here soon to get work done!

The Lyric is my go-to spot for delicious coffee, tea, sodas, beer and wine. They also have quite a selection of tasty breakfast items, sandwiches and salads. One of my favorite things about the café, besides being steps from my house, is the large patio with plenty of seating and lovely plants. Lastly, the staff is so nice. The owner, Mark, always has a smile and treat waiting for my dog. Can’t beat it!
I really like this spot. The food is good lots of choices, a nice patio, and some really good shows… Open mike on Thurs then a comedy showcase and some exciting theater

That breakfast bowl is something special. Oh man. Quinoa, black beans, avocado hummus, fried egg, and red pepper flake. Add feta cheese — trust me. (*sigh* And YES, I know quinoa is pronounced«keen-wah»). SO good.

LOVE this place. I went once years ago and it was aiight. However, I guess the management or owner changed(I think Mark? Is his name) and WOW, what a difference. It’s not the typical bougie LA coffee shops with $ 18 coffees, but I’d honestly pay $ 18 for the BOOMTRIP. I need coffee everyday and I think I’ve tried 100’s of different ones across LA. But, the Boom Trip not only tastes like a dream, not too sweet, not too dark — and the best part is the caffeine energy I got from it! And that’s the most important thing for any independent person grinding full time+ just to be able to get by In this town. Everything is very affordable, yummy, clean eating, clean atmosphere and perfect to bring a date or business meeting. I went there w my creative collective and we even ran into the dude who wrote and directed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Love this joint.

This little spot is perfect for an afternoon of getting work done on your laptop or reading a good book. The staff were super friendly and they have good breakfast food. I got the veggie scramble and if you love pesto, get it. Yum! They also have free wifi and outlets on the patio. I’ll be back.

Excellent choice after our walk on the secret stairs in Silverlake! We were so hungry and this food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommended, we cleaned our plates for sure!

Under new management but this place has always been pretty good. Prices have gone down a tad which is a plus. Wait times vary. Usually not the place to hit up if you are in the a hurry. Ingredients are fresh and the portions for food are a desirable size to keep you full without the heaviness. I’ve had bagels, sandwiches, salads, side salads, teas, and coffee. Pretty much can’t go wrong here with taste or quality of food. They offer indoor and outdoor seating plus free WIFI!!!

I like that guy who works on Friday and texts while I order. Also, this is a great theater, man. It’s got the right amount of seats and there’s been some really well written shows put up there.

The coffee and food are nice but while the coffee is well priced, the food is not. Probably won’t return, didn’t feel there was anything special about it.

The sweetest girl was working at Lyric Café as I stumbled in from walking 2 miles from the Vermont/Sunset Metro station today. She made me a tomato grilled cheese sandwich, with HAWAIIANBREAD! and a side of quinoa and balsamic glaze. Thanks girl, you made my day!

I love this coffee spot. Now serving porter beer. It has a great patio deck in the front designed to accommodate your laptop /electronic plugging needs. Great place to take a small group. Small but good menu for lunch, cookies and salad. I hear they also have shows in the theater. Long as I have been coming here, never made it to a show, but it’s on my to do list. They also relocated the piano night when«the other side» piano bar down the street closed up shop a while ago now.

Ehhh, this was fine. Nothing exceptional. There was hardly anyone here but it took awhile to get my food. I wasn’t in a hurry so it was ok. The atmosphere is a bit stale, seating and tables a bit cheap and uncomfortable. My breakfast was alright. The spicy sauce served with my meal was really good though. This is more of a coffee shop than a café.

I don’t know how this place has so many positive reviews… I’ve come several times to have s bite to eat or coffee before I see my chiropractor across the street and the service is always TERRIBLE. The guy who’s always working on Friday afternoons won’t even say hello, or look you in the eye, or acknowledge you. He was texting while I was ordering this time. I ordered a cappuccino… It’s actually laughable how he set it on the corner for me to come collect it myself. I’ll add a photo, please enjoy a giggle. Sure, it has free wifi, and it’s conveniently located by my chiropractor so I’ll probably resort to coming here again, but if the staff or owner actually reads this: FIREYOURFRIDAYSTAFF. They wouldn’t know how to offer service even if you showed them a PowerPoint.

Such a cool spot! The atmosphere is great and really creative. And the people and staff are really fun to talk to. Bonus: sandwiches are really good too! I also like that they’re open pretty later than a lot of cafes, in case you need to get work done. I’m for sure coming again.

The service here in the afternoon was incredibly friendly and down to earth. My dog was welcomed out on the patio which is a good size, inside is a tight squeeze, but has that vintage vibe to it. The kale slaw is killer, really really good. I got the«Sir Elton John» Sandwich. It was tasty, but absolutely smothered in cheese, a bit much for me. The caramelized onions are a great touch though. Be sure to check in a few times for a free coffee. 2 stars for the service, 1 for the food, and 1 for the atmosphere.

OK! So I have a(major all consuming) tiny fetish for Coffee Art. Lyric Café did not disappoint. Coffee is excellent. I made the mistake of complementing my le moment de boisson with a soup and sammy combo. Which took about 30 minutes because they had to send someone to Trader Joe’s. It was advertised as «Organic Tomato Soup with Goat Cheese» and sammy. In walks person who drew short straw, carrying the 3 dollar box of organic soup. From Trader Joe’s. Meaning they did not make the soup. Soup and Sammy for 2 = 12 bucks. Soup at traders 3 bucks. Realizing I paid them 4 times more than the cost of soup to microwave said soup. Priceless. Because I will never do it again.

Surprising find that I usually speed by on my way to Trader Joe’s! On this random Wednesday I was waiting for my car to get new brake pads and wandered across the street for a coffee. The patio is spacious and comfortable, prices are reasonable, and sandwiches smell and look delicious. I, however, stuck with a plain black coffee, which was delicious. And by that simple order I can often tell whether a place is worth returning to, even when I’m not drinking coffee. This one is, and I’m eager to attend some of the theatre events soon as well.
