Great place. Great atmosphere inside and out. It’s comfortable despite the crowds. Also appreciate that amidst the fancy offerings, one can still get a normal cup of joe. Perhaps a bit pricey, especially for a can of beer but hey– it’s LA, what can you do? Bottom line: nice atmosphere is the best part but the offerings ain’t bad either. Also, nice spot to glimpse celebs if that’s your thing, ya creep.

Alcove Café is a super cute place to grab lunch or dinner. There’s plenty of adorable outside seating which makes it really enjoyable, especially in LA weather. I got the Brie and Apple Panino(yes, panino, not panini) which was really pretty fantastic. Initially I was nervous that the brie would be too strong in the sandwich but it wasn’t at all! It pairs really well with the granny smith apple slices and was topped off great with the sweet caramelized onion. I loved how they put a good amount of apple slices. Too often, similar sandwiches fail to meet my expectations because they have a measly amount of apple slices, but not Alcove! Unfortunately the onion rings I got on the side pretty much sucked. They were extremely oily so I had to dab it over and over again on a napkin. The outside breading was also much too thick. Sigh, disappointing. Overall a nice atmosphere, food is on the expensive side but I really liked my panino!

I love the fact that they are farm fresh. The wait was not long, you order at counter and then check in to be seated which was quick. Cute little spot with out door seating. Expect self serve and looking for someone if you need items as there is no designated waiter for tables. The food was a little bland but it is farm fresh so just add a little salt or pepper lol

I’m sort of obsessed with Alcove. The atmosphere. Food. People. Vibe. It’s all good. I’ve mostly used this place as my ‘go-to’ for meet ups with friends. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert, this place is a great option. They have amazing tasting cuisine for even the most picky eaters so my friends are always satisfied. I also like the outdoor movies they have although you HAVE to get there early and have your whole party present. That might be a pain especially because they start seating like 2 hours before the movie even starts.(ugh!). But that’s all good. Oh, and street parking in the neighborhoods is usually easy for people. Just give yourself like 10 extra minutes to find a spot and walk to the restaurant.

I’ve been coming to Alcove for years! One of my go to spots on weekdays when I want to getaway for a couple of hours with my boyfriend. Cozy ambience under lit trees and mismatched furniture. The salads are great sharing portions and the cheese for two is a must with cheese, nuts, dried fruits and crackers! The Big Bar next door is great as well!

Location 3 Stars — Parking is a pain to find. best off valeting. It’s a great trendy place to hang out in their outdoor patio. The food is ok nothing special. 2 Stars Food-We had the guacamole and chips which has a lot of onions lacking some salt it was okay. Crab cake sandwich was too much cream cheese within the crab cake and my bun was hard lightly toasted, could of used a little more toast on bottom bun. I ended up taking the crab cake out and left the bun. I was really expecting to be amazed from reading the other reviews about this sandwich. Coleslaw was good! Fries were average. Crispy chicken was ahh. whatever as my daughter put it. Spinach side was bland with lot’s of garlic. Mac & Cheese not creamy enough for me. 5 Stars for the– Staff is excellent and attentive… always asking if everything was ok or if we needed anything? Desserts looked delicious sadly I did not get to try any.

Came here for brunch with a few of my friends last Saturday. AMBIANCE+LOCATION: inviting and laid back. Cramped indoor seating but spacious outdoor patio. Perfect place to meet your friends for a meal on a sunny day. Only one bathroom stall per gender… ladies line is always long. Valet parking is available but we found street parking nearby. ORDERING: The ordering process is a little complicated. The host hands you a menu at the front and then you order inside the restaurant. While in line, a server asks how many people are your party and then disappears and is no where to be found after. Then you pay first at the cashier and is handed a number with the drinks you ordered. I was a little stressed out here. Space is a little tight and, as you pay, arms would be reaching over you to grab the drinks off the counter. Finally, you walk back to the host to get you seated. FOOD: — Caramel latte: I tasted more caramel than coffee. Too sweet for my taste but my friend loved it. — Brioche French toast: Perfectly made! It comes with a side of berry compote, crème fraîche, and maple syrup to adjust the taste to your liking. — Smoked salmon omelette with toast and potatoes: Salmon was fresh and abundant. Good ratio of eggs and salmon. The potatoes were lightly seasoned. We forgot to ask for no goat cheese but we easily scraped it off. — Chicken pesto panini: Good but did not stand out. The portions were large and could easily be shared amongst our group. They have two fridge displays filled with an eclectic selection of desserts. They looked delicious but we were too full to think of desserts. Overall, this is a good brunch spot !

Love Alcove. In all the times I have been there, I have never had anything that I didn’t like. The portions are huge. Everything is fresh and delicious. The chopped salad and the vegan wrap are two of my favorites. When I am in the mood for something a little greasy, I always go with a side of onion rings. Their iced teas are great. If just going for a snack, the cheese tower for two is a great choice. Make sure to save room for dessert! The cakes are impossible to pass up.

This place is always so delicious. Once in a while we venture toward Los Feliz area just to go eat here. It’s always super packed but the line goes pretty fast. You order and then find a seat. Love their omelettes… Smoked salmon omelette, shrimp & crab omelette, or I make my own if I feel like thinking. Their meat lovers omelette is filling and good too! usually tell them go to easy on the hollandaise sauce bc last time there was so much sauce we couldn’t even see what was below lol. They have a ton of great healthy dishes as well if you feel like you binge ate drank the whole weekend and need something light. They have GREAT pastry selection including the bread pudding that my BFALWAYS orders or gets one for take away. It’s pretty big so definitely something you can share if you are with a group. They have a full bar area inside as well. Last time we ordered some mimosas with friends and sat outside on the patio and that was pretty relaxing. Definitely a great brunch spot that is always constant!

Such a cute little spot to grab some food. It’s an artsy, trendy, hipster place to go due to the décor and style. However, if you aren’t a very hipster person, don’t let that stop you from visiting Alcove. The food is good good good! I feel it is a bit pricey but if you don’t care about that then go now and check it out. I got a Buffalo Chicken Wrap that came with fries with water(which was free) and it was about $ 15. The wrap was filling, I inhaled all the fries and ate half the wrap then saved the other half for later because I was too full to finish it all. Which I thought it was delicious! I wouldn’t necessarily go back weekly or too often because it was kind of higher up in my preferred price range, but definitely would go back when I have a little more money in my bank account! Overall, great environment with a nice vibe and some yummy food!

Such a cute spot in Los Feliz! Alcove was so packed on a Wednesday evening, even at 10pm! They have a slew of pastries(cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, you name it), huge portions of dinner items. We came here for dessert & coffee, so we got: Hazelnut latte — so good Coconut Macaroon, half dipped in chocolate — so good I will definitely be coming back for brunch/dinner. They have a huge outdoor area with tons of tables & heat lamps for those cold LA nights. Parking: 2 hour street parking on Hillhurst until 8pm or in the neighborhoods nearby for free.

Passed by a few years back and the décor and outdoor seating caught my eye. Finally made it back to Los Feliz to try this hidden gem. The menu is quite large and has a great variety or breakfast, brunch and lunch options. I had the Nutella and berries crepes, they were quite good. A little too much Nutella but still delicious. My husband had a special, Caesar Chicken club and it was good but was a little dry, not enough sauce. The mango green tea was refreshing and doesn’t need sweetener. I had a quad shot Americano which was strong and hot. Just the way I like it. With so many options on the menu I will have to go back to try something else.

Okay, this review is for the takeout bakery ONLY. Based upon my gazing at the courtyard and inside the restaurant, I’d give this place a «10.» It is soooooooooooo beautifully decorated. I LOVED what I saw, and I’d come back to dine there just for that ambience. It really was so inviting. I walked in at about 3:30 on a Saturday, and this place was JAM-PACKED inside and out, but that still wouldn’t deter me. I stood in line the day before Easter for a few bakery items, and while everything looked delicious, when push came to shove, the 3 pieces of cake that I bought were actually dried out. Very disappointing. I bought one slice each of chocolate cake with raspberries, lemon pound cake, and a berry cake. As nice as this place looks, I expected more from what they were selling, not just how it looked. When I buy cake, and it LOOKS fresh, I kind of expect it to BE fresh and tasty… and NOT dried out. Add to that, the slices were VERY small, which was annoying at the hefty price I paid for each. Sooooooooo disappointing. Two stars, maybe even 1.(As an aside, when I go to SusieCakes for a cake slice, they are whopper pieces, and I never feel cheated for what I’ve paid. Plus, their cakes are ALWAYS fresh and downright delicious. At Alcove, I felt cheated… and didn’t even like it.) So not what I wanted. So here’s the deal… I still want to eat an actual meal there, in spite of the failed cake purchase. Then I can make a more informed consent. I still have hope for this place and am giving 3 generous stars, not so much for the cake, you can be sure, but mostly for the ambience and the hope I have for their food and perhaps that I went on an «off» weekend. Now that I think about it, since it was the day before Easter, maybe they just wanted to sell out of what bakery stock they had, and/or maybe they baked it a few days earlier, which might explain the lack of freshness. I honestly have no clue, except for what I tasted… and I guarantee you, did NOT finish.

First time here though I’ve seen this place for years and years. Came here for my Mother’s day breakfast. I’m guessing other than it being Mother’s Day, this place can fill up rather quickly, so if you’re thinking of the brunch time«time», be prepared to wait. We got here at 9am-ish and took about 20 minutes to order. I think it’s mainly the ambience that gets folks in. The food is average to above average in regards to basics to eggs, bacon, pancakes. I do admit their bacon here is not oily and crispy like a chip – oh so good! Their French toast is done here correctly too: batter, but not soaked. Everyone raves about the bakery portion… this place was a madhouse so didn’t get a chance to look and grab something. Guess that means a return visit soon for me!

Time frame: Sunday mornings around 11.30– 12.30. Crowded, but seating hasn’t been a problem for me yet. This is considering parties of 4– 8& sometimes a large dog. The line can be long– use it to look over the deliciousness on the menu. *** For all those new to Alcove: grab a menu & get in line. They’ll give you a number & get you your drinks after you order; then they’ll find you a table. The place has some rickety, occasionally lopsided tables because the ground isn’t flat. It all works in the end. Beware– elbow room is limited, & the line for the bathroom almost always exists. Vegetarian Review: — chilaquiles: strangely enough, it was nicely done. The sauce flavor was not bad, but not like, strong? Portion was great. It comes with beans, but I subbed Rosemary potatoes. This potatoes though! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Well seasoned.

I love the Alcove, its one of my favorite places in Los Feliz. I got a breakfast sandwich, egg whites only and I substituted fruit instead of potatoes. The fruit was great, lots of melon and berries. The breakfast sandwich was huge. They serve good sized portions. Its a great place for breakfast — especially on a nice day when you want to sit outside on the patio.

When I heard that this place was owned by the same people as Aroma I decided I had to try it. I went for some dessert and wine at around 11pm on a Friday. PACKED. But we were able to find a small table. They have SOMANY desserts. Even more than Aroma I would guess. My sister and I ordered the Princess cake to share. It’s honestly the best cake I’ve ever had. It reminds me of a bakery I ate at growing up. I haven’t been able to find any cake that comes close to that bakery. Until now. The wine was also pretty good. I can’t wait to come back and try the food! I love that they gave a huge outdoor patio.

Brunch goes until 5pm and we missed it by just a few minutes so we resorted to sandwiches. My best friend and I split the Crab Cake Sandwich($ 15.95). I thought it was just whatever. I found it lacking in both flavor and texture. The fries were just okay. My boyfriend got the Cuban Sandwich($ 13.95). I tried a few bites and definitely enjoyed his sandwich more than mine, but we both agreed that we should’ve ordered without the horse radish because it was too overpowering. The onion rings were very heavily battered. The food we ordered was overpriced for what it is, but the patio seating is super cute for a first date. I definitely wouldn’t get the sandwiches again, but I must come back to try their brunch!

You stand in line, order your food, and take your number with you. There’s a lot more outdoor seating than indoor seating here. We ordered an adobo burger, crab cake burger, and two beers. adodo burger– overcooked and spicy. nothing filipino about it. We both ordered fries as our side, but I got half the amount compared to the other order.

Stopped by Alcove for a quick brunch after a morning hike. The outdoor sitting is very beautiful! The ordering process was fast and we got our food 5 –8 minutes after we placed the order at the counter. I ordered the shrimp and crab Omlette that comes with roasted potatoes and toast. It was so delicious and the cheese on top is amazing. My friend got the fruits and Nutella crepes. We both loved it, especially the blueberry sauce! Will come back to try some of their cakes for sure

The perfect brunch spot! I’ve been here a couple times and I love bringing friends here not only for the awesome food but for the cute décor and outdoor seating! It’s a semi-self service type place where you order and pay first, then get seated and have food served to your table. THEFOODHEREISDELICIOUS! Some of my favorites: CRABCAKEBENEDICT — comes with a side of fruit — SOGOOD, perfect taste and portion size CARNITASOMELETTE — huge portion — comes with roasted potatoes and a few tortillas — a little heavy, but still super good(The guac is bombbbbb) PUMPKINPIEPANCAKES — we wanted something a little sweet — i’m actually not even a fan of pancakes but these are delicious *___* The service is super helpful and attentive and got us seated within seconds of ordering! I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often! But if you’re in the area and looking for a brunch/breakfast/lunch place i would definitely recommend this place!

Finally I was able to visit Alcove café that was on my bookmark list for about one year. Most of my friends recommended this chill place and today after visiting here I’m admitting this is one of the nicest and coziest café/restaurant that you can go and chill and have something delicious with your friends. Me and my friend visited Alcove to eat a light early dinner. I give 4 stars to the food which was made very flavorful and yummy. I give 5+ stars to the ambiance; surprisingly beautiful. Alcove has outdoor and indoor area; which I love sitting the outdoor area because of warm and pretty environment. All trees are lighten up at night which creates a magical and romantic ambiance. I fell in love with ambiance of Alcove and I can’t wait to go back. Everyone must try this lovely place!
