It was hot. I ordered a cold brew. It was good. What was even BETTER were the brunch items I ordered: –soft scramble on a homemade biscuit with blistered tomatoes, spring onions + homemade tomatillo hot sauce($ 9.50): So good except I wish the hot sauce was hotter because breakfast always tastes better with a little zing to it. The eggs were good, but what was even better was the biscuit. The biscuit was buttery, fluffy, and everything you wish a biscuit could be. I also had this really fantastic salad dressed in fish sauce and topped with pickled radishes, fried lentils, peanuts, and an egg. It. Was. So. Good. But again, I am Southeast Asian, so I loved that flavor pop. I love the original location. I’ve ate and drank there. And I love this location because it’s a little more innovative with their menu. Honestly, I hope they carry that kale salad over to their original/new location because it’s so, so good. Come visit because they do close up shop in a few days.

The coffee is GREAT, the service, GREAT, the toast, GREAT. Five stars! AND: here’s how you scramble an egg. Crack an egg into something other than the pan while you melt some butter to bubbling in the pan. Add a tiny splash of milk and a dash of salt to the egg and beat it really well and then immediately pour it into the hot buttered pan, it should sizzle. Gently push the eggs toward the center, all around the clock, but don’t hyperactively break them up into shreds — I’ve seen this activity from the sidelines while waiting for my coffee — who wants to eat eggs that way, atomized into packing peanuts, whose idea is this? Flip them once in the pan just to dry off the other side, not to cook it all the way through(a concession to wet egg eaters); they should puff slightly, because you beat so much air into them; then slide onto a plate and serve. These shreds of broken-up eggs with the white and the yolk still separated — it’s a different dish entirely, and not a good one, and maybe not even a dish. I’m sure the cooks will tell me their vision is to serve them very wet, for toast-dipping, a sort of British affair, and that the pan-scrambling method is fine for that. And I’m just saying: yuck. Nevertheless, I am in complete solidarity with this place. Five stars. All good things.

Fun little(temporary?) addition to the neighborhood. Had a casual brunch here(casual meaning we didn’t have to wait for an hour for a table on a Saturday morning at 11am) and tried their pork patty breakfast sandwich. You know what guys? I’m way over brioche buns. The rest of it was good but can we move on from the brioche trend? It’s really not that great and takes away from the goodness of what’s inside the sandwich. That being said, it was still a good sandwich, and you can’t go wrong with G&B coffee. Also I wanted a Mountain Valley sparkling water but they didn’t have any cold ones which I found odd. Who wants warm sparkling water? Not me.

I want to give this place such a better review but it just has a few things that consistently disappoint. It is pricey — which is fine for me if it’s worth the price. The best I can say is go there, order the food and you will understand. They should bring the prices down a bit or adjust the portion/quality. The coffee is good, the togo cup lids are annoying, to me anyway maybe not others. Now I enjoy my loud music, lounge style but dance party loud in a small coffee shop where many come to work not so much. There are even speakers outside, so no escaping. I know it’s a pop and it has the right idea, the one in larchmont is great but they just need to work some things out. Hope the reviews help for the new location. Always love a good new coffee shop!

my boyfriend said this was«the best coffee he’s ever had,» and agree that it was great. it’s expensive(i think i spent $ 11 on two lattes?) but charming and delicious, so whatever. i wanted to try the turmeric tonics but couldn’t bring myself to get that in addition to coffee. the ordering system is somewhat confusing and there was a bit of a wait. part of it seemed to be attributed to the fact that they really take care in crafting the drinks, and part of it seemed like they were just a bit unorganized. expect a leisurely visit, because they are slow and do get busy. it’s a fun use of the lucky duck space and you’ll be guaranteed an excellent coffee.

Remember back in the day when G&B shared a space with Sqirl when they first opened up?(That was WAY before the insane Disney-esque lines!!!) Or how about when G&B opened up their first permanent gig over in Larchmont and called it Go Get Em Tiger? OR, how about the G&B that opened up in DTLA over at the Grand Central Market(cool venue!). Now there’s something new from these guys! For now, the GGET pop-up is occupying a space that used to be Square One’s Lucky Duck Restaurant(didn’t last long), in a teeny plaza at the junction of Griffith Park Blvd and Hyperion Ave. This is temporary until they open up a permanent location over in Los Feliz, near Hollywood & Vermont in the Fall. BUTWAIT!!! This isn’t another«coffee shop»! It’s breakfast! It’s brunch! And if you know me, I LOVE breakfast. So, when I was alerted that GGET has a pop-up that serves breakfast/brunch, we made our way over without hesitation! Parking can be a real booger in that tiny plaza. But patience my friends. Patience. There is parking on side streets. But if you’re blessed by the parking gods like me, you might just snag a spot in that tiny plaza. We walked inside, made our way to the wide counter, checking out the menu on the wall and placed our order. We paid, asked for some water(had to ask a few times until we finally got it), and took our seats at a communal table. There are several tables for groups of twos, fours, and one large communal table. And are you ready for this? I ordered the market berries, ricotta & honey on a yeast raised waffle. Yes. I did. And before I tell you what that was like, let me also mention that I ordered a side of their bacon AND a latte with their housemade almond & macadamia nut milk! Let me start with the easy stuff. The bacon. I got two solid slices of thick bacon that weren’t dripping with grease. Truly satisfying. Let me tell you, they don’t use that nitrite & nitrate crap that is sold in most restaurants. Now, I am quite familiar with their almond capp and latte, using their housemade almond milk. But macadamia & almond milk??? You bet your beans I got my drink with this milk! It was so velvety smooth, lovely, with that slightly sweet nutty taste. It was solid. I was distracted in my conversation because this drink was so good! Onto the main attraction: my waffle dish. Now, I usually get grossed out with overly sweet things. I don’t like it when restaurants disguise their pancakes/waffles/French toast with all sorts of syrups and toppings. Even so, I also don’t like it when waffles are overly sweetened. That stuff makes me sick, literally. BUT, these waffles are different! The waffle itself was light, crisp, with just a pinch of sweetness AND salt! Salt? What a concept! It created a lovely balance of taste. Topping my waffle were very fresh berries(in season, of course!). In addition, there was ricotta of excellent quality, and some honey lightly drizzled. It was perfect. According to me, this was perfect in taste and perfect in the amount. But why four stars and not five? Well, its the service. It’s hit or miss. You might have noticed how I mentioned needing to ask for water a few times. Some of the workers seemed a little spacey. But, to be fair, our food came out with no problem. I will certainly come back, especially for that waffle and almond & macadamia latte!

I know this is a temporary pop up, and I think the immediate neighborhood could use a good down-home breakfast or coffee joint. I’ll say the coffee was good, the service friendly, the egg sandwich breakfast though smaller sized was pretty alright… Cost was higher than I expected, making it unlikely for a daily stop in… So, would I go back? Maybe. Probably not. A bit on the trendy, pricey side, I’m still not used to $ 4 for a coffee, though here they served it in a craft(the same size as the empty cup they gave me, which seemed ridiculous)… Basically it feels as though it caters to the Silverlake hipster, poser-class, something I don’t particular find myself gravitating to… But after you trim your beard, skateboard over between getting you new tattoo and newly leased Landrover detailed and check it out for yourself.

Kind of takes a while to get your order. I felt the entire operation was a bit scattered. Like, who do I order from? When do I pay? If you ask for water they give you a shot glass of it, lukewarm. I had the smoked salmon toast which was pretty good, but pricey. My husband loved his heavy breakfast sandwich, but he loves all heavy breakfast sandwiches. And the food came out staggered, which made for a bit of awkwardness. I might go back cause it’s down the street from me, but they aren’t taking care of the adorable little succulents they inherited from Lucky Duck which is a crying shame.

Granted the format is weird, but we needed a Go Get Em in our side of town because they are one of the few coffee shops that make their own almond milk so you can get almond lattes truly without sweetener of any kind which is rare. So. 5 stars. Please move in for good.

I completely agree with the reviewers who say the service here is terrible. It’s extraordinarily bad. The system for ordering drinks is absurd. Intended to be innovative or cool or whatever(it’s like order a drink at a bar) in practice it’s idiotic and frustrating. The staff is also very slow and often seem incompetent in addition to their ridiculous system. The worst part, as others have pointed out, is their shitty attitude and nonchalance. Only reason I’m giving this two stars and not one is because the coffee is decent. Too bad it’s not worth the bullshit.

Do go get them. This was the biggest waste of my time. Rude lazy staff. Weird menu. Terrible service. Waited 45 minutes for toast. Won’t be back. When I told the manager that I had received a menu item I hadn’t requested, their answer was«we only have one chef, we are a Pop up.» No apology for not having food on our table 45 minutes. The attitude of this establishment is abhorrent.

Yum! I really enjoyed my breakfast here, and was impressed with the creativity of the menu, although it is small. The soft scrambled eggs were delicious, and the homemade biscuit they top was phenomenal. Cinnamon sugar toast was also really good. You order at the counter, then sit, which while not my favorite was fine especially since it was not busy at 9 am on a Sunday. I look forward to going back.

It took me twenty minutes to get an iced americano to go. The ordering line takes forever for no apparent reason. I think this place needs to implement a better way of taking orders. There were three people behind the counter just shuffling cups around and everything seemed overly complicated. On the plus side their macadamia milk is good. Haven’t tried the food — so the two stars were purely based on service…

Kyle & Charles have done it again! Now they’ve popped up in a space formerly occupied by Lucky Duck for a short 4 month stink(or until GGET Los Feliz launches). This comfortable property offers sufficient indoor and outdoor dining space… and yes, mouthwatering waffles, salads, and sandwiches are now being served. They have also recently rolled out their Brunch Menu, too! Where else can you have amazing Smashed Pork Patty & Fried Egg Breakfast Burger paired with World Championship quality espresso? By the their pasties are all made in-house and are phenomenal! You might want to consider any one of these tantalizing treats to start your morning: Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie Ginger Molasses Cookie Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Vegan Strawberry Muffin Blueberry Muffin Almond Scone Apple Turnover Brownie Blondie Nectarine & Blackberry Pound Cake I love all these pastries, however, some pair better with certain drinks. About the GGET Coffee Program. GGET is a multi-roaster coffee bar serving up a lineup of the best coffees in no particular rotation that can change during mid-day. Coffees from 49th Parallel, Heart, George Howell, Ritual, Madcap, Roseline, and Ruby often take up space on their shelf and make it into your cup as filtered brew or slung as spro. Some of my favorites include: Filter Coffee Espresso Almond & Macadamia Milk Cappuccino(also know as AMC) Gibraltar/Cortado Gibralmond One & One Almond One Whippersnapper/Katy Perry Business & Pleasure(also known as BNP) Mini Double Pleasure Iced Almond & Macadamia Milk Latte Almond & Macadamia Milk Mocha FYI, if you suffer from Asian Stomach Syndrome like me or are vegan or maybe you just require dairy substitute for an undisclosed purpose, you’ll most assuredly want to request almond & macadamia milk. Their freshly handcrafted Almond & Macadamia Milk is truly remarkable and incredibly addicting! Simple Syrup and milk available upon request. GGET Pop Up is now open daily, 7am-3pm.
