Just moved to the area and this is the closest Thai restaurant to us. Ordered some take out over the weekend. Got Pad Kee Mao(aka Drunken Noodles) with Tofu. Overall, I thought it was okay. Certainly not bad, but didn’t wow me either. The portion was huge and it was somewhat spicy(I requested extra spicy). Price was decent at $ 10. Will try this place again out of convenience but will try Pad Thai next time to see if that is better.

We placed an order for delivery, curry and pad see yew. Delivery took around 50 – 55 minutes. The food was flavorful, not the best we have had, but definitely good authentic thai food. Will order again.

If only I could give zero stars. The most horrendous and unacceptable customer service ever. Placed an order and an hour and a half later, delivery still had not arrived. I called the restaurant for an update and they said it would take another 40 minutes. When I protested they said the order was ready but the driver forgot to grab it so I would have to wait. I have never experienced such horrible service.

The food here is pretty darn great, but I have to give it a 3.5 because the customer service and delivery experiences have not been very good for me. I have ordered several times from here for lunch and they have repeatedly been so late that I miss my lunch. To make it worse, I have even tried to order 1.5 hours early and their have still been late… If their pad see ew(with shrimp), wonton soup with veggies(which is THECURE for any cold), chicken and salads weren’t so darn good I would not order from here ever again. Unfortunately it is, and i continue to remain hooked for that very reason.

Talay Thai used to be great. I love Thai Fried rice, and the portions here were generous, on top of being rich and buttery — like good fried rice should be. Recently they’ve been skimping, so unfortunately this delivery relationship is over.

Tried this place because we wanted something quick. The service was slow, the food fair. I felt like the pad thai had a somewhat metallic aftertaste. The noodles soup was authentic thai, but the spices were not quite there. The best was the pineapple fried rice, that was pretty good. The larb was pretty spicy hot, but so hot that the meal got uncomfortable.

After my doctor’s place we went to this restaurant around noon. One guy made us to sit but it took clearly 15 min to come back to take our order n serve us a glass of water. Omg it was the worst Thai food I ever had. Everything was blend. My son always love teriyaki chicken but here, after 1 bite he didn’t touch that chicken. I ended up eating their side salad(comes with chicken teriyaki). Don’t waste ur money n time here. Highly disappointed, never again.

Talay Thai is the closest thai restaurant I have to my office. Although I get Tom Kha Koon soup delivered all the time, I think the food is just mediocre. The Tom Kha Koon soup is probably one of the better items I’ve ordered from them. Love the sour coconut flavor with shrimps. I always get a side of white rice with it to balance the strong taste. The bill comes out to be around $ 12. A little bit pricey in my opinion. I’ve also tried their pad see ew. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better. The vegetables didn’t taste fresh. And the noodles are a little on the salty side. But overall, this is a great option for the fact that they deliver for free.

This review is for the food that I ordered for delivery yesterday. I ordered Tom Yum noodle soup and laab chicken through Grubhub at 6:15pm.and the food arrived at 7:48. If you are really hungry, don’t order here(I was really hungry that I ended up eating something else instead.)Nonetheless the food was still warm when it got here.

Talay Thai was a short walk from my office so I decided to try it out. I ordered the Chicken Pad See Ew lunch special, it was pretty amazing(especially when you consider the price, $ 8!). It came with soup, a spring roll, the main dish of course, and a scoop of rice. The dish was very flavorful and all in all it was an amazing meal. I also appreciated that even with 4 people ordering lunch specials, there was no fuss about dividing it onto 4 charge cards. It made it really easy to get in, get full, and get out on a lunch break. I will definitely be dining here again!

Just this afternoon, I ordered delivery for just some pad see ew. It was hot, but it was very very very very mediocre. The flat noodles did not look fresh at all and the taste was so inconsistent throughout the whole meal. At some points it was good and then after a couple more bites I’d get a totally different taste and I’m like … what? Pros: Delivery was really fast and the guy was really nice! Cons: If you want fast delivery but better food just go somewhere else. You’d probably can get better for the same price. I usually get my fix for pad see ew at westwood thai and they are pretty fast and consistent as well. Sigh, I really wanted this to work out. I saw the earlier reviews because the place I usually order delivery for take out did not open until 5pm. I wish I had just waited to get my fix. I will not order again, but thanks for the food.

Papaya salad is my baseline for any Thai restaurant, and Talay’s had a great sauce and a lot of spice(which I asked for), but the shrimp were overcooked and mealy. I prefer the little dried shrimps – more authentic and harder to mess up. Based on that, I’m not sure I feel the need to go back, but the papaya part really was nice.

I really enjoyed their spicy mint leaves aka Ka Pow and their spicy fried rice. I would eat here again. The staff is friendly and suggests good dishes. I probably wouldn’t try their Chinese dishes since I’m here for Thai food.

Not sure why this place gets so many low ratings… I loved it. Totally empty so me slathered in sunscreen and little else was totally appropriate for an afternoon lunch. Speaking of, they’ve got heaps of entrees listed with a $ 7.95 price tag. The soup that came out didn’t look so appetizing, but it actually had a great ginger-lemongrass flava’. As for the curry: I expected the chicken to be dry(as it usually is at most joints) but not so here. My huge mound of rice could’ve done with a bit more sauce; still, it had just the right amount of kick. Plus, the egg roll was delish. And I don’t even like egg rolls. Beer and wine served here, too. Done and done.

I ordered delivery late at night. Pad see ew with chicken was good! The only con was that delivery took an hour even though I ordered late at night!

I ordered something through the ‘Eat’ application… From this restaurant. I waited an hour and 15 minutes and when no food arrived, I tried to call the location. I got no answer. When I finally got ahold of them 15 minutes later they told me I needed to wait another 20 minutes for my food but that it was impossible to cancel the order as the food had already left the restaurant. All of the waiting would have been fine if they had a) answered their phone and b) given me a more realistic eta. I tried to contact the eat application to tell them what happened and I was told that they too were too slammed to talk to me. When the Eat rep finally called me back and called the location, the restaurant told them a completely different story. Turns out the driver didn’t even have my food yet and would have to make a return trip. I am so disappointed that I will have to cross another Thai restaurant off of my list. They probably won’t miss my patronage on this busy holiday weekend… but maybe they will miss me and my loyalty on the slow nights. One star because the food is actually decent. …but they need to do better.

Ordered take out online through Unilocal which was super easy and convenient. Steamed shrimp dumplings were really good. Pad see ew was good and the same as most places, and pineapple fried rice had a different taste but was really good. Drunken noodles were not that great. Would definitely order from here again.

Bf and I went here on a Saturday evening. I ordered the shrimp red curry. It was barely passable. The wings appetizer was overly sweet. The spinach with chicken was a bit salty. The place was sparse, but it took time to get our water refilled. The server was hospitable.

This restaurant is nestled right at the the entrance to the freeway on Santa Monica Blvd. Parking seemed to be a bit confusing especially during lunch time. However, I managed to go around the building and what do you know, common sense came in handy. They have a few assigned spots in the back with a back entrance as well. The employees were extremely nice and accommodating. There are lunch specials but I went for the pad ke mao with chicken. The chicken was tough and not sliced thinly and the noodles seemed to have more oil and no sauce. I would like to give this restaurant four stars at least, but unfortunately I am unable to do so because I only tried one item off of the menu. I will be back at some point to give the restaurant a more detailed review. Here’s to great service Unilocalers!
