I’m a regular at this cafeteria … mainly out of necessity. This medical center has stature and a lofty reputation, but its cafeteria leaves much to be desired. This eating establishment is outdated, often unkept/filthy, and uninviting to patients and employees alike. The food is somewhat pricey and truly nothing to write home about! The cafeteria staff(under Sodexo contract) are often less-than-friendly, and the facility is under-maintained and not very clean, there used to be sani-wipes, which patrons often used to wipe their own tables clean — Sodexo staff can’t keep up with the demand of clearing/cleaning tables. Unfortunately, sani-wipes are no longer available; not sure why. Also, for a medical facility that works hard to prevent infection control, it falls short in its provision of hand gel stations in the cafeteria. Currently, there is only ONE hand gel station for the entire cafeteria, and it’s often out of gel! I’ve approached Sodexo staff on more than one occasion to let them know that there’s no gel in the dispenser, but they act as if they’re being asked to do something beyond their job description. I think Cedars-Sinai could do better with a service provider other than Sodexo. Enough said!

Breakfast combo — pancakes, sausage patties and eggs. Real fluffy pancakes from batter(was expecting frozen) but these were good, I could only finish one. Eggs were a bit overcooked but their fresh salsa over it was good. I was pretty hungry wish I took a pic but not bad for under $ 5. Since the rest of the restaurants/cafes are closed on the weekends, went back here for lunch. Got the pizza combo(slice of pizza, side salad and water) for about $ 5. DON’T get the pizza. It was gross and I barely ate half of it. The crust just takes so fake and gross. The side salad is basic, you can walk over to the salad bar to put dressing on it.

Even though it’s Hollywood’s Glamour Hospital( ), it’s still just the place where staff and patient’s families get basic food on campus. Remember, it’s a hospital cafeteria. It’s overpriced for the value, but then again you’re in a high priced area without many nearby options at night(and it’s a pain to get your car). If you’re looking for something on the hospital campus that’s somewhat nicer, try La Brea Bakery or other food options open during the day in and around the bridges between the hospital and office towers. My pizza was fine and the Black & White Cookie was surprisingly good(though it was a bit stale and didn’t have all of the chocolate frosting on top). The staff here aren’t mean, but they’re definitely not nice and not people persons. Not quite sure why this is the culture, but it is I guess.

Just awful. The service is horrid, the workers only know how to say«no» to even the simplest requests. The food is mediocre at best. Their healthy options are usually terribly unhealthy(regular full sodium instead of low sodium) Pizza is a staple in a hospital cafeteria — that’s saying something. Oh and there was an insect in my salad from the overpriced salad bar.

I am not an expert at hospital food but thought this café was fine for it’s intended purpose… A bite to eat while you’re at Cedar Sinai. Have visited the Ray Charles café many times this week and different times during day and late night. There is a good selection of beverages and the hot food section changes daily. The grill prices seem reasonable. I would stay away from pizza unless it’s fresh. Had a simple baked chicken with sides and drink for $ 6.95. Prices for hamburgers were pretty reasonable around $ 3.00 and some pre-made stuff too. I wouldn’t expect to have the tastiest dishes but if you need a meal it should fine. Open daily till midnight although selection is limited late night. Avoid lunch time if visiting, crowded with staff and other visitors. Vending machines close by too.

My office is next door so it gets two Stars for Convenience. The food is what you expect from a Hospital cafeteria. The prices are cheaper than anything you’ll find in the area, unless you venture out to Taco Bell off La Cienega/Beverly, but why in the world would you do that!!!

Ray Charles Cafeteria is in the south tower of Cedars Sinai Medical Center on street level. The cafeteria has 6-sections of different food: the grill(burgers & chicken), deli(sandwiches & pizza), breakfast-lunch-dinner counter(entrees change daily), refrigerated section(fruit, chicken salad, drinks, etc.) and the island(salad, fruit & soup bar, coffee and teas. Chips, cookies and 100-calorie bagged items are everywhere. Cashiers will ask you to open your to-go food and remember they move quick so long lines go fast. There’s plenty of tables and booths, but its sorta drab in here, very little natural light and no outdoor seating. There’s nothing fancy or tasty about Cedars cafeteria food. I only eat here when I’m time crunch, otherwise there’s better eats for sure outside Cedars doors, around Beverly Grove.

I eat here almost everyday. The food is nothing special. Decent if that. They are really strict on their portion control. That aside, the reason I gave this place 1 star is because the service is horrible. HORRIBLE! The pizza/sandwich guy is a jerk, with a crap attitude. He always changes the hours. Today he opened 10:30a. Other days 10. The cashier situation is ridiculous, they will have a line of 14 people with 1 register open, by the time they get the next register open, the line is gone. Honestly I would boycott this place if I had other affordable options. Other than that; The tacos suck The Chicken is always dry & it would be a good idea to have a staff that speaks and understands English.

Funny how the world reknown Cedars Sinai Cafeteria only has a handful of reviews. weird. Ok well Ive been coming here every day, sometimes twice a day for the last five years. Not only are the same grumpy employees there with worse than sad faces but attitude. I dont know why some of these people even still work here. I believe in a HELLO, THANKYOU. Some of these miserable employees cant even greet you. !@#$ them! I dont come here to get attitude. And not only that ever since Sodexo took over they are so cheap! The quality of food reeks. They only leave 2 soups out all day. They used to have 4. So the whole hospital is using 2 tubs of soup. this hospital cant afford to put out more tubs of soup? LASTTIME I CHECKEDMYSURGERYCOST $ 11,000 also so cheap to put ketchup and mayo packets out for people have that they use a Ketchup Machine, and Mayonnaise tubs. This is a hospital. So everyones hands are using the button to dispense the mayo and ketchup. Its usually empty, too. As if this place cant afford a renovation? Looks like were stuck in 1986, guys.

Food is ok. Lately they’ve been introducing new items to the menu and that’s great and all but it’s way overpriced. Wish it were a little cheaper.

It’s a hospital cafeteria… what more do you need to know, really? The food is average, although their daily specials can be tasty if you are down there at peak lunch hours. It’s a good option if you’re on a tight schedule and don’t have time to leave the hospital campus. Food is reasonably priced for most items. Minus one star for the wait at the cash registers which can be immense. There will be people counting out change or getting some sort of voucher card stamped or just seeming generally confused about what they’ve purchased. Annnd minus one star for the gnarly food that sometimes appears(usually soup) which is some concoction of leftovers from the day before. Example: cheeseburger soup. Seriously?!!

As far as hospital food is concerned, the Ray Charles Cafeteria at Cedars SInai Medical Center is the worst I have ever had. As a traverler in this great nation of ours, I have been to many different hospitals. Some provide in-house sushi chefs, some stay open 24 hours a day, some have well known restaurants stationed inside. At Cedars, the food is mediocre, the kosher menue is ironically limited, There is so much you can do to provide great service in a hospital and to know that Cedars Sinai’s hospital is lack luster at best is very dissapointing. To add insult to injury, they have changed the one sparkeling glory, the onion rings to somenting hardly edible. Talk abour shooting yourself in the foot. Get it together Cedars.
