I wish I didn’t have to give this place a star rating This was my first and last time going to this place. To start off with there was a fly inside my popusa I complained to the cook and she didn’t do much about it she just ask if I wanted another one after asking for my money back as I was walking out I notice there was a rat poop all over the floor I don’t understand how the health department continues to allow this restaurant to operate. The pork meat is not kept refrigerated and they are so careless about being clean Los Angeles health department really needs to check this chain of restaurants and close them all. They are dirty and unhealthy.

Maybe it was just a bad day to come in but I really did not enjoy this place at all. The tables were pretty much all dirty, and stayed that way for the entire time I was there. We walked in confused, do we order at the counter or sit down? Nobody greeted us or even acknowledged us. Finally, I ordered the carne asada plate, and my boyfriend got cheese and pupusas revueltas. Their rice must have been fried and reboiled twice because it didn’t even look like rice anymore. It was crumbly and completely bland. The meat was not great, either, just also very bland. I left almost all my food when I left. The pupusas were decent but as everyone has mentioned, not great, probably because they are only. 99 cents. And the revueltas were mostly over salted cheese. The only reason I am giving it one star is for their platano frito plate, which was the only thing I actually enjoyed. As a full blown Salvadoreña, I do not recommend this place and I didn’t understand the 4 star rating until I read that most of the reviews are people who don’t know much about Salvadorian cuisine.

I stopped in at the new las champas location at 1165 E Florence in the Florence-Firestone district. I had never had pupusas before. Felix the owner was very friendly and helped me sample the different combinations of fillings and they were served in minutes. Felix set me up with sauce and toppings and everything was delicious! And only $ 1 per pupusa! Come here for quality el salvadorean food on the quick and cheap!

This place had okay pupusas. I mean they were not bad but they werent that good either. I think its because of the fact that they r always .99 so they cannt splurge too much on them. I like when places give u a discount option n a full sized full priced stuffed yummy one. Just saying. Will i come back? Hmmm, perhaps if im running low on funds

I totally recommend this place; I’m no expert on Salvadoran food but the pupusas taste good and so are the platanos and empanadas. The people are very helpful and super nice, the place is clean and prices are reasonable. You should check this place out and I assure you that you also will become a regular.

The best pupusas i’ve ever had. The prices are great. I do suggest you order ahead of time as they are prepared per order.
