Spicy margaritas and sprouts salad. I have to go at least once a month. Love it

The wine glasses were scary. I ordered a glass of wine and was pretty excited about it. The glass come out with a strange object in it. I took this as an accident, as accidents simply happen sometimes. The waitstaff passed it off as it was whatever, but gave me a new glass. The second glass had a lipstick mark on it. Dear bartenders, please check glasses before giving them to customers. This is so easy. I ordered food, but after two wine glasses of grossness, I had to cancel the food and leave.

Bartender dude, you’re not going to make it in The Industry, so drop the attitude. «What kind of IPA do you have?» «It’s on the first page.» «Great, thanks, Buh bye.» They just can’t seem to get it together at this place. We’ve tried a few times, and no.

Service and ambiance is great but food is mediocre. I really wanted to like this restaurant because it’s at my favorite hotel in LA but it really does suck. Ordered Brussel sprouts and was served raw in a very basic salad. Brussel sprouts are very bitter if not cooked and seasoned properly and that’s exactly what the salad was, BITTER. Ordered a side of sweet potatoes/yams, and that was also pretty flavorless. Sliced pieces of yam with oil and salt. Nothing too special And lastly the smelly clams. Dry, smelly, bland, flavorless clams. Smelled like gross, old, stinky seafood. No flavorful juice covering the clams. I was shocked. Overall experience was pretty bad. The Roosevelt should really consider opening up a new restaurant:(oh yah and we were one of two parties dining there on a Saturday night.

Food is decent but the service is so bad, and takes so long, that it is difficult to enjoy it. I believe anyone who is in this neighborhood can do better than this place.

Décor and atmosphere are great. Loved the vibe here and the hotel lobby was a really lovely spot to grab a drink before dinner. The food however was rather uninspiring. Some of the dishes(mushrooms in particular) needed salt/some sort of flavor. Nothing was memorable. Came with a large group and no one seemed particularly impressed with their meals. It wasn’t cheap though(especially for a large group) so I think if you are going to shell out some money, you should be happier with the food. Service was friendly.

I came here with a couple girl friends a few weeks ago and was not really impressed. I was disappointed that the menu was pretty small compared to what was shown online. Service was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I did love the décor though– it was beautiful. We started with a couple cocktails, which were good and came with the usual Hollywood price tag. I enjoyed the infused drinks they had, but the wine list by the glass was definitely lacking. We ordered the burrata and chicharron for appetizers to share. My friend loved the chicharron and I liked the little sauce they served on the side. The burrata was pretty good and the pesto sauce in it was a nice touch, but it could have used more tomatoes and served in a little mason jar, which was cute. I ordered the duck confit for dinner and I will say I love salty food in general and I can’t remember the last time I had to send something back BUT this was waaaaaaaaaaay over the top salty. As in inedible. I had to send it back and they said they’d make a fresh one, but since they’re made in a batch I had to order something else off the menu. I really hope they did not let anyone order it that evening. I ended up with the pork dish, which was good and cooked nicely, but not really what I wanted. Neither of my girlfriends were really impressed with their dinner. One order the Moules Frites and said that the broth was very bland which is disappointing because that should be the best part! I love dipping my bread in it afterwards! My other friend ordered the Rabbit, which was wrapped in bacon, so really just tasted like bacon and overwhelmed the dish. Such a bummer. Overall, considering the price point and all the other restaurants in the area, I doubt I would come back here.

Public kitchen house is a restaurant with a bar area inside the beautiful and historic Roosevelt Hotel. It is the more upscale of the two restaurants attached to the hotel lobby(the other one is fancy burger spot 25 degrees). They have some good happy hour deals! I took pictures of the menu last time I went because there isn’t much information about happy hour on their website. The best thing at this place is definitely the brunch buffet! It’s pretty pricey by super delicious. There aren’t a lot of Vegas-style fancy buffets in LA so I really appreciate that they have something similar here. Sometimes you just need to go all out. Good food, good drinks, gorgeous atmosphere.

Decent place with great architecture and design inside the Roosevelt Hotel. The bar is lacking in selection, so be prepared to sacrifice on your desired selection prior to dinner. The service is top notch, and the food is priced at the high end of reasonable, which would be fine, except for the fact that the quality is just average. You’re really just paying for the aesthetics and location here.

This was such a lovely evening with friends visiting from Japan. Sam the manager was so helpful, kind and generous! Thank you for the Foie Gras. Every bit of our meal was delicious from that to the Bone Marrow, scallops then mussels and 16oz Kansas steak. Thank you! And thank you Drew! The help, guidance and suggestions you’ve given me has made my choice in recommending the Roosevelt Hotel the easiest thing I’ll ever do. And I’ll make sure I continue to do it again and again and again!

A small group of us took my guy here for his birthday dinner. Service was excellent from start to finish. Drinks were great and the waitress was good about checking in on our need for more throughout our entire meal. We got a few apps before our entrees and they can out after a pretty short wait and were all very good. Each of us ordered different entrees and we all liked our food.

The burger here is probably one of the best burgers I have had. I can rave about the fluffy bread that is encompassed with a thick beef patty, dressed with a fresh sprig of arugula. Did I also mention the thick cut fries? This burger just oozes with flavor and freshness. I keep thinking about it. Burrata cheese– This burrata cheese with pesto was perfectly paired. The zesty flavor and savoriness from the pesto enhanced the taste of the cheese. Then to top it off with some french bread. It was the perfect snack. Bone marrow– I was not a huge fan of the bone marrow here. It was served whole and I had to dig it all out with a spoon to get out the bone marrow. It was a little too much work to get the bone marrow out. oysters & charcuterie plate– it was good, but nothing amazing to rave about. This is a great place for reliable food before and after a show or event. I came here twice in one night and had delicious food.

We went for dinner. Aesthetics — This place is amazingly designed. There’s a lot of wood from bottom to top. There’s many light fixtures that give a nice soft light. This combination gives an aura of Amber that is really pleasing to the eyes. There’s plenty if seating and the whole place is just done very well. 4 stars for look and feel. Very intimate setting. Service– waiter was a nice guy but wasn’t attentive enough. The place wasn’t packed at all and it took a long time for my friends drink to come out. Food– I had the Reuben and this is the sole reason for a 2 star drop. The bread from the Reuben should have a nice crispy outside but a soft enough inside so that the whole piece of bread isn’t crunching like a cracker. Some of the pastrami was dry although it had good flavor. The sauerkraut was pretty good and packed a lot of sour/tangy flavor. I’m not well versed in sauerkraut flavors but it was good for me. The fries that came with the sandwich were soft frilly things, I prefer them crispy. They had a nice thick cut and it was a healthy portion. I just feel all the salt and sour tastes were overwhelming as salty and sour hits the same bells and whistles on your tongue. Public was a beautiful place and is probably a great place to get drinks and possibly brunch. Definitely coming back to grab drinks and converse.

Good & service was superb but it was not worth the price you pay for the food. You can find good food for cheap if you know where to look. I had difficulty finding the entrance but it’s located in the back where the valet parking is at. Small portions won’t fill you up but it’s around $ 20. Mandatory tip is $ 5. My fish and chips was $ 24, not including tax and tip. It’s a very intimate setting & I rated it based on the quality of how the fish tasted, but I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Plus, my chips were perfusely burnt & the golden ones were super stale.

Summary: Food is overpriced and not good. Service is good, but could be better. Atmosphere is dark and classy, but loud. My wife and I ate here on a Saturday evening while staying at the Roosevelt Hotel for a conference. We were seated immediately and our server introduced herself, then took our drink orders while I put in an order of the Brussels sprouts and asked for another minute to decide the rest. We ended up waiting close to 10 minutes for her to come back, and I basically had to flag her down because she kept passing by us but not stopping at our table. We ordered the meatballs, tiger shrimp salad, and mushroom risotto to share between us. Soon the Brussels sprouts arrived and we dived in. The first bite was alright, but oddly sweet. We figured it must have been because of the crème fraîche, so we tried some without and it was still very sweet. I flagged down the server and asked if they were supposed to be sweet, and she said«Yes, because of the red wine reduction.» I looked through the ingredient list before and that was not identified as an ingredient, and I have never had sweet Brussels sprouts, so it was not enjoyable. She took them back since we weren’t going to eat them. After a bit, the other three dishes arrived. The meatballs dish consisted of four decent sized meatballs covered in a red sauce. Unfortunately, the flavor was bland and the meat was pretty dry. Not good. The mushroom risotto was tasty, but undercooked. The grains were crunchy. And lastly, the tiger shrimp salad($ 18) came out with a whopping three shrimp on the plate. Those were delicious, but the salad was just average(and the red leaf was really bitter). With the Brussels sprouts removed, the total for three items came to about $ 40. Hardly a bargain when the food was as poor as it was. Not an enjoyable dinner.

We went prior to a show at the Dolby Theater. We were seated right away with our Open Table reservation. The service was great at the start, but soon I realized our waiter was nowhere to be found. After informing the host, he took care of the matter swiftly. No harm done. We had a couple glasses of wine each. The house Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were good. The crab toast and burratta appetizers were very good, and the sea bass entrée was excellent. Overall, an excellent dinner. Cost for everything was about $ 100.

This review is for the Sunday brunch. I give it 2 ½ stars out of five! FOOD: 2 stars — limited and greasy/sugary BUT some fruit. Good Spanish cured meats and decent cheese! Croissants and baked goods were so-so and desserts — just skip the desserts and have the bacon dipped in syrup! ‘Nuff said! ATMOSPHERE: 5 stars. Really cool old school setting with nice ceilings and leather banquettes. GREAT space! Have a look around the hotel & keep in mind the first Oscars were held there! SERVICE: 2.5 stars. Decent but the«bottomless» mimosas weren’t as plentiful as advertised. And they use Asti Spumante(not Prosecco) — yuuuck! It was ok but I thankfully was redeeming a TravelZoo voucher and it was deeply discounted. I’m still glad I went since it’s in such a lovely venue! If you are going later, get the food quickly! They are quick to put the main good from the buffet away!

A group of girls & I went to Public Kitchen & Bar inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. We had never-ending rounds of mimosas, with a brunch buffet. My first plate consisted of kale salad, yogurt parfait, salmon blini, cure meats, cheeses, roasted Brussels sprouts, burrata, and Rainier cherries. After resting a bit, I went for dessert: chocolate dipped strawberry, tiramisu, amaretto cupcake, chocolate mousse cone, coconut pudding, chocolate bombe, and cherry tart. The champagne never stopped pouring. The kale salad was the best. The other dishes were good, but nothing special. All the desserts were meh good, if you get what I’m saying. The food was fine for the price we paid; we definitely got our moneys worth through mimosas.

I came for the Sunday brunch, which is all-you-can-eat, and also did the champagne version. My friend had a coupon so we didn’t pay full price. In any case, it’s a cool ambience in the historic Roosevelt hotel. I love the feel of the place. Service was good. In terms of the food, most items were just meh. For example, the chicken sausage, bacon, and brussel sprouts were salty and mediocre. There was a dish with pesto at the bottom along with this cheese that was supposed to be burrata, but had neither the taste nor the texture. There was also a quiche-like item that was not good. The yogurt was also not good. Highlights of the meal were all the fresh fruit available, the pancakes with flavored maple syrup and chocolate chips. My favorite was actually the freshly-made customizable omelet. I had spinach, wild mushrooms, tomatoes, and ham in mine. DELICIOUS. Well-done. The lox with caper and cream was decent. The desserts were quite good as well. I tried every item, and they were all good! Prepare to leave stuffed beyond belief, especially if you’re having champagne. You get the choice of orange/pineapple juice and fresh-squeezed OJ. In terms of coffee and other drinks, you have to ask for them, but they’re included in the price of the buffet. I probably wouldn’t pay full-price for this buffet. Really nothing special. I suggest parking in the Hollywood and Highland mall, where it’s only $ 2 if you validate for the first 2 hours.

Apparently the first oscars were hosted in this hotel! Anyways, halibut is my favorite fish because its fish that doesn’t taste like fish! This restaurant has the best cooked halibut because of the crispy top layer with the rest of the fish’s texture soft, light, and juicy. I don’t like my halibut dry or overly fluffy. I wasn’t a big fan of the sauce though — a zesty green chorizo sauce because it tasted more like salad dressing. It was super pretty though, like a high end model driving a green sports car. Everyone else liked what they ordered when coming here for lunch — bento box, kale salad, public burger, and the endive salad with salmon. If you’re looking to class it up this is the place.
