I wasn’t warned that the food could spill out of the container. I ordered from here and walked holding the container at a slight tilt and it literally spilled all over my shirt, pants, and trench coat. You guys stop at Mid-Wilshire near offices and I for one don’t want to smell like Indian food all day. Now I have to get my clothes cleaned at the dry cleaner and I have to endure being wet because of all the water I used to clean off my clothes. Your food is good, but you should really fix the containers you serve your food in or at least supply a bag so that the food doesn’t spill everywhere when a person is taking it back to his or her office. You shouldn’t serve soup in containers not made for soup!!! Please get this fixed if you want me to continue eating at your food truck. P. S. Your cans have dirt on them at the drinking part, the part where I’m supposed to put my lips to take a drink. Clean the cans, they’re filthy! And what is up with the size of your Mango Lassi? For three dollars, a customer should get much more lassi!

Just OK is all I can say here. Tried the Tikka Masala. Very pedestrian quality was my impression. I’m not a huge fan of Basmati rice to begin with so if it’s not made well, I’m out. This was not made well, the rice was toooooo dry and the lack of flavor in the Tikka Masala didn’t help. When your competition is India Jones, Naan Stop, Dosa and Bollywood Bites, average just isn’t going to cut it.

Had their Chicken tikka masala and korma. Both are good but the prices are high. They give you salad but never a dressing.

I agree with the other reviews that the portions and the prices are a little bit back-arsewards. The Chicken Tikka was average, nothing too spectacular, although I wish there was more of it. The Naan bread was fresh and enjoyable. Out of the entire meal($ 8 chicken Tikka — which I think needs a price reduction) and $ 2(each) vegetarian samosas with mint sauce I enjoyed the mint sauce and samosas the most. The third star is for the samosas only.

Meh. Pricey for what you get. $ 8 for a puny serving of tikka masala is pretty bad. They barely give you any chicken pieces = lame. The taste is pretty average, nothing special. The naan however is pretty good and seems really fresh. I’d skip this place next time.

Samosas($ 2 each) stuffed with potatoes, peas, chillies and seasoning are large, served hot and are very tasty. My only tiff with them is that they don’t have a website yet.

The food is somewhat tasty. But… I got the Tandoori chicken which is two drumsticks that tastes nothing like Tandoori. It’s a lot of rice for $ 9.00NOT A GOODVALUE.

I tried this truck today. Nothing special. I ordered the chicken qorma lunch plus a tandoori chicken leg. The qorma came with garlic naan, rice and some shredded lettuce. The qorma sauce was tasty, not too spicy, but the meat was tough and flavorless. The naan was delicious and hot. I enjoyed it. The rice was horrible. It was soggy and flavorless. The tandoori was not very good either. The meat was not as tough as the qorma, but it was really bland. Service was nice and very quick, but since the whole meal cost $ 12, I would pass on this one.

More like 2.5 stars, but who’s counting? I was about to head over to the UV for Indian food, when I saw this truck. Then that little voice in my head says ‘come on, be adventurous’ Voice, you are a stupid stupid little man sometimes. It’s not that the food was bad. I liked my meal of Tikka Masala, but there was way too much rice, and not enough entrée. The UV Indian place is its main competitor, because for some reason I’m too lazy to walk to my favorite Indian restaurant. That place gives a lot more food for your dollar, and without the styrofoam. On the plus side, the salad was quite tasty and better than the UV’s, but for the money, I’d rather have my two-item combo over there and not from the truck

I feel like Indiana Jones here in Raiders when his Monkey tried to kill him and his gal just got kidnapped. Nothing about this New Delhi seemed to be all that good. The Tikka Masala was sort of like a poisoned date. Only I was the monkey tasting it. Not only that, but the price for it was just pretty crazy for food truck standards. $ 8 for the serving was really leaving me feeling like i just got whipped and tossed onto a plane with snakes in it. The flavor of the food was just not there. The amount of food was crazy for what you’re paying and the amount of rice they give you is really just. silly. Not even short round would think this was a filling meal. Their tandoori chicken is also pretty high priced considering what you’re getting. Let’s just face it, this food truck’s prices are like the music number in Temple… ANYTHINGGOES! And that anything is just not a good thing. Not really worth your time. I can’t give them a 1 star, because it’s a lot of small mistakes that cost them big on this one. and they were generally nice people. It’s just that with these practices and mind set, I can’t see them lasting very long in the mobile food truck world.

I was on my lunch break and saw the truck over on Ontario blvd in Burbank. I unfortunately didn’t have enough cash for lunch so instead of Border Grill I opted for the New Delhi Express. I was mistaken and disappointed. So I order the tikka masala(8 $) and some tandoori chicken(2 for 5). He charges me 11.50 for the price of one piece of chicken and the curry. They charge 50 cents for using a credit card even with the $ 10 minimum he told me to use one. Nowhere on the truck did it say that there was going to be a fee. So I get my food and he added another piece of tandoori for his error so I got my two pieces. Honestly that had to be one of the worst tasting piece of tandoori chicken I’ve had in quite some time. It wasn’t all that flavorful and it was extremely messy as well. Now onto the curry, so I open up my styrofoam container and I see the two tiny containers filled with curry, the larger one is the rice and a piece of Garlic naan wrapped up in some foil. I don’t know about you if im paying 8 bucks for a meal I should get more than 3 – 4 ounces of curry. If you’re going to be that stingy with it, you might as well fill the entire container with rice and pour a little bit over the top to give the appearance of allot of curry, kind of what india jones does… Overall this truck is worth skipping and not all that great.

I am sure you have all seen those Styrofoam clamshell take out containers with the three compartments. Not to environmentally friendly of course, but they are an otherwise efficient way of serving up a three course meal. Except that the nice folks at New Delhi express seem to have it all backwards. They fill the great big section of the tray for the very mediocre rice, and use the two smaller containers for a too-small portion of the Chicken Qorma. for $ 8.00, it should be the other way around. The Qorma, or what their was of it was pretty good, chunks of chicken in a sweet, spicy Indian sauce. The menu promised that it was cooked with onions, cashews, and yogurt; and it did make a tasty dish although I couldn’t taste any hint of the cashews beyond just a general sweetness. Problem was there seemed to only be about 3 maybe 4 ounces of chicken in the sauce; i used the rest of it to season some of the rice. In fact I wish there was more as the rice certainly needed some help. it was cool and dry with no hint of seasoning whatsoever. There was some red=grained rice sprinkled in, but it simply added color without flavor. I have to mark them down for the rice because by volume it was ¾ths of the meal. One of the things that NDE got right was the garlic naan. It may have been wrapped in foil like a tortilla, but it was warm and tasty when I unrolled it. «Gourmet Food Truck #112 on my never-ending quest to try every truck in So Cal»

Just had the Chicken Tikka Masala for lunch today and I thought it was great! Not bland like some of the other reviewers stated — it had a nice, mildly spicy kick to it – though I agree that the portion could have been a little larger. Rice was delicious. Naan has nice chunks of garlic in it. What’s not to like?

It’s not bad, but i won’t eat it again. compared to the india jones truck this place just doesn’t do it for me. I got the vegetarian spinach/cheese dish. While it is plenty of food for me, i can see what the other reviewer is saying, that for $ 8 the space where the rice is and the curry is should be reversed. the flavor isn’t bad but it isn’t special either. this would have been a decent $ 5 lunch but this is not worthy of $ 8. the rice doesn’t have much flavor. the naan is good and the people who work the truck are very nice.

I saw this truck a week ago and thought i should give it a try. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala without rice and they offered to substitute an extra naan. The two tiny spoonfuls(see my photo) of Tikka Masala was not flavorful at all. I’ve had better Tikka Masala from Fresh and Easy. I know this is a lunch truck, however, if this truck is advertising Fine Indian Food, they need to do a better job of producing it. The naan was ok, which is why I’m giving this 2 instead of 1 star. It was garlicy and buttery. But I was there for the curry, not the bread. Next time i’ll take my $ 8 and go to the all-you-can-eat Indian place up the street.

I stopped at this spankin’-new food truck on December 23. I’ve been a fan of India Jones Chow Truck for awhile, and Indian is my current food«phase,» so it had a bit to live up to. Firstly, I have to say that the people running the truck are fantastic. Very friendly and enthusiastic about their truck. The food was just okay. I had a veggie samosa and the chicken tikka masala. The naan, fluffy and soft, was the star of the show. Tri-colored rice that was fine, masala sauce that was TOO mild(and I’m not big on spicy) but a nice consistency, and chicken that was way overcooked — though I’d rather over than under! The samosa was another«okay» item that underwhelmed a bit. I can see that they’re getting their bearings still, so I will definitely visit again in the future. Their attitude as business owners is enough to make me want to give it another try!
