The best pancit bihon i had in years. Their price is reasonable, best value for your money actually. They also have the fluffiest pan de sal. I’ll try their pies next.

I ordered their cebuchon for my baby announcement party… it was perfect and very worth it for the price(80 for 1, 150 for 2) it had crispy skin and juicy meat… they chopped it very nicely and they provided some sauce Can’t wait for the next occasion to order some of this pork!

Seriously SERIOUSLY good food. We went for the halo halo but their ice maker was broken so to sooth our sorrows we ordered lunch instead. Chicken adobo plate and lechon kawali plate, + a tenner of pan de sal. Best $ 13 I ever spent. Generous portions and yummy food. Enough for leftovers. Just what I was looking for!

We were in Socal just to get out of Norcal and the craving for Halo Halo just triggered. Quick Unilocal search and it led us to this Filipinotown. First of all, I’m sorry but for being called Filipinotown there really isn’t much going on to show your there except the sign. Anyways we really just randomly picked this place – it did help to see the picture of the Halo Halo on Unilocal — see how much Unilocal helps not only the business but potential customers! We stroll in and it looks like they were doing some renovations, but the person at the counter was friendly and assured us they were ready to take our orders. We order 2 Halo Halos, Beef Caldereta, Pansit, and Sisig. We were the only ones in at this time. We sat down and waited. I was highly anticipating how the food we be as from past experiences Filipino food is a hit or miss. Especially since I come from a mom who knows how to cook it well, and a GF who can also hold her own! First the food comes out, and I was shocked right because the portions were huge! I was surprised because here in Norcal, you go to a «CASUAL» Filipino restaurant like this and portions are tiny and prices are high. The only place you can expect decent portions are the more«fancy” – if you even want to call it that, restaurants but of course prices are higher so it is only fitting portions be a good amount.(Think Kalesa, Tribu, all the Filipino restaurants in San Bruno lol) Anyways lets get down to the food, the Caldereta was good. Plain and simple. Flavor was there and the beef was so tender. They did not skimp on the meat, and there were green ANDRED peppers. The Sisig, after MANY different versions, I will have to say is subjective on how you review it from one Filipino place to another. This one was not sizzling like most expect – but they did not advertise it as so. It was good, but I think I prefer the sizzling variety. Again HUGE portion. The pansit, well, it’s pansit. JUST like I eat other pansit from other restaurants, ANDJUSTLIKE I DOWITHMYMOM’S ORGF’S pansit, I separate the veggies. Yes it’s weird as I eat other vegetables just fine. It was just habit forming since I was a child. Again HUGE portion. As far as flavor it was there, it was good. Now when it was Halo Halo time, it was GIGANTIC! 1 Halo Halo should be good for 2 people. It is that big. It wasn’t just big due to ice and the milk. There definitely were a lot of ingredients in there. My only complaint is the ice. They don’t have the shaver that really shave sit down to a soft snow like consistency. If they improve there it is a Halo Halo to beat! Overall I had perfect first experience despite the minor things I pointed out. The staff was very friendly. After we were finished they even let us sample their famous pandesal. And YES it really is good. Prices were really good, portions were surprisingly big, flavor was there. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Please DONTCHANGE! – It is the demise of most things good.

Only $ 2.50 for ten pieces of pan de sal! This was a great stop before a team meeting. My colleagues loved my contribution to our breakfast potluck and I’m sure I’ll come back again for more. They also have other savory dishes that I want to try next time.

My Mom’s Bakeshop doesn’t only have yummy authentic Filipino pastries, they also serve delicious homemade Filipino food. If you’re ever in the heart of La, My Moms Bakeshop is definitely a go! I find myself here getting freshly baked pandesal every other week!

Came to the area coz we wanted to try the Dollar Hits, which was next to this bakery. The lady was pretty good about selling her products. Told us NorCal peeps come to buy her pandesal in bulk(frozen). I got curious and bought 10 pcs for $ 2.50(freshly baked, still warm). It’s not bad, right? Then she went on and told me I should buy her bibingka($ 3/2pcs). I did Got in the car tried the pandesal. WTH! Nothing special about it It’s bread. Just like any other bread. The bibingka? Tasted like muffin. Went straight in the trash. Waste of money.

I’m only going to give you a review on the pandesal and service. Came here cause my friend posted it on Social media. And I wasn’t going down this path but I ended up since the 101 was packed! Why not! Only 3 people in front of me and it wasn’t long wait. I asked if they take credit card but they said ONLY if you spend $ 10. So why not I bought five bags. The bread was still warm. So I had two while driving home. Had to give one to my niece and tell her the story of «when I was young.» She loved it and so did I. Soft and good. Got home and put some butter on that baby. It reminded me of Betsy Bakery and tasted like it to!!! Will come back for sure when I crave it. $ 2.25 for ten pandesal! Yes not the usually Betsy $ 1. For 12.
