Absolutely love this place! The people who work here are so kind hearted and open. One of my favorite spots

I love this place! It’s my third time and I am hooked. They have the nicest customer service, the BEST food! I highly recommend the Razzle Dazzle panini. Might be my favorite sandwich of all time. They have so many delicious options and the environment is the epitome of cute and cozy coffee shop. This might be my favorite spot in all of LA to curl up with a book.

I love this place. It’s very quirky and fun! Stuffed book shells and local art line the walls and the wait staff/cooks(they seem to do both which is impressive) seem to all walk a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle with some art peppered in. One day I helped a staff member(or regular?) sand down a puzzle he created for a regular customer’s daughter. I always(I mean ALWAYS) order the Razzle Dazzle Fig and then most likely sample some of whatever my dining companion ordered. Food is good and you don’t feel heavy afterwards. Enjoy, people.

This place seems promising but the service is atrocious. I got the Buddhi Bowl, which is basically just soup and(cold) quinoa for $ 10. It took me 30 – 40 minutes to get my food. I also ordered a lemonade, and the waiter said he had no larger cups, so he gave me two small cups filled halfway. My bill was $ 16 and I paid with a $ 20 bill and was never asked if I needed change. It’s not like they were slammed. There were three people in the place who already had their order. I wanted to like this but did not get my money’s worth

Enjoyable and Kid-Friendly!!! Most of the menu items are yummy! And the ambience is cool also. The warm beverages, French Toast, Vegan Mac N Cheese Sandwich, and many other menu items are well worth trying!

This is most definitely my favorite café in Los Angeles the staff is super nice and always welcomes me as one of their own. Everything they serve is vegan and gluten free which makes it all super healthy. I would all day everyday recommend their french toast, it cannot be described how good it is. Also all their selections of lemonade is super good. There are also always musicians playin everyday and that just makes the homely litle café more nice. Elderberries, you simply nailed it… 5 out of 5.

This has been on my list of places to try for a very long time and I was super excited to finally have lunch here on a Saturday. It is a small place with vintage charm that piques immediate interest and has the feel of visiting a friend’s old relative, albeit one who is in need of tidying and cleaning… books galore and a bookshelf with books for sale, unmatched tables closely nestled without direction, and a piano. There was, however, a man playing mellow guitar tunes and singing. Initially we were going to dine in the back patio(adjacent to the parking lot) but there were no umbrellas and the sun urged us to retreat indoors. The menu looked enticing and I love that everything is either GF or can be made gluten free(the paninis do not automatically come with GF bread, it’s $ 1 extra upon request). We all ordered a Panini which listed that they were paired with a salad. I had the Queen Mab And The Fig. «Homemade raw fig chutney, cashew cheese, caramelized onions, eggplant, zucchini, and carrots» sounded interesting but it was disappointing, just bland and sweet. The ‘salad’ was a measly portion of arugula although the dressing was delicious(the best part of my meal). Portion and taste were underwhelming and just not worth $ 13. I wish I had tried something else instead and only felt inspired to finish half my sandwich. I had factored in their dessert menu in our decision to dine here but they hardly had any of the dessert items listed so we had to venture elsewhere to have dessert. I REALLY wanted to love this place but I’ve had mindblowing dishes and larger portions at similarly priced much nicer vegan establishments. Two stars for the salad dressing and mellow guitar tunes. Maybe 3 stars if it had been a piano player.

I want to support this place, I want to be on board — it’s within walking distance, lovely space and vibe, and you can really tell they mean well … but it’s not a functioning restaurant. I first came in 2012 when diagnosed with celiacs, and enjoyed the food, but always had trouble getting served and getting out in even a leisurely pace … not because they’re slammed, but because their staff is not conscious about being of service. Which to me, is bad vibes. Talking to each other, talking to regulars, and forgetting others is not coming from a conscious place of gratitude for their customers or from a place of presence or community service. Something they claim to be about. Yesterday was my last trip. After 15⁄20 minutes, a server thought to take my order. After 30 more minutes, he realized he forgot to tell the kitchen. «It was lost.» No baby, you didn’t write it down. Nothing was lost, you started talking and forgot. Take responsibility for your actions. Just like last time. And that time in 2014. And 2012. Each time I think, they’re sweet, ok it happens, I should’ve spoken up … but by now … wow. No. It’s not my job to serve myself in a high cost restaurant, even if is to support a(cultish co-op? Dedicated to the Archangel Michael? I hear a lot of convos while being ignored and not served.) «We’re trying,» he said after they gave me my sandwich and a still cold soup. It’s time to stop trying to be a restaurant and just be one. Stop making excuses for your absence of service and presence, it is violence against me people trying to support you. They felt bad, because I pushed back, got comped $ 3 and a free filler for waiting almost 1.5 hrs for food in an almost empty space(serenaded by lovely music.) They’re nice. They want you to «co-create» a space, art, music. But they don’t care about the actual business part enough to serve food. It’s an afterthought. People purchasing don’t matter, their time or needs don’t matter. Can’t support that kind of space. Neither should you, at least until they stop«trying» and start«doing.» It’s not so hard, I promise.

This was our first visit to this place and we loved everything about it. I am not a vegetarian but really enjoyed our Sunday breakfast here. They even had a guy playing the guitar and singing. We will definitely be back!

You know that cute guy that you really want to like, but then he opens his mouth and ruins the whole thing. That’s this restaurant. You love the idea of it but then when you actually interact, it’s a bummer. This place could easily be a four star restaurant if they got their sh*t together. It’s vegan and gluten-free which are two things that make me happy. My experience today, though, was a bad first date. The ambience is adorable. It’s quirky, eclectic, and looks like someone’s living room. Maybe someone manic depressive or the home from A Beautiful Mind – still interesting any way you slice it. It’s littered with books and an unused piano, there’s some art and random scrawling on poster board that seemed like a pep talk or notes on a lesson the rest of us missed. If you like dining outdoors, they do have a patio out the back door but there is no awning to protect from the sun and nothing delineating it from the rest of the parking lot where there are trucks and cars and it’s downright bizarre. No charm there. Seems like a poorly executed afterthought. The service is not fast because there seems to only be one waiter. That said, he was charming and genuine and wanted us to enjoy our food, which made it that much more unfortunate that we did not. I had the Raw Oatmeal. The description said it was organic buckwheat groats. I thought that«raw» in this case meant unprocessed grains. I did not think it meant cold cereal. Because it was oatmeal. I would not have ordered cold oatmeal if I knew it was intended to be cold. That’s something they should probably make very clear on the menu. To best describe it I’d say it’s the La Brea Tar Pits of cereal. You stick your spoon in and it will stand straight up. Excellent if you need some spackle. Less so if you want to eat it. That coupled with the fact that it is freezing cold does not make for a delightful bowl of oatmeal. It’s shocking at best and if you love your oatmeal the way I do, it’s downright depressing. But we’ll chalk that up to miscommunication. I’ll take partial blame. One should never assume that their oatmeal will be hot, I suppose. My friend enjoyed her quinoa more than I enjoyed my oats but it was very frothy and more like soup then quinoa. She said it was like a Café au lait with some quinoa at the bottom. Also not quite what she expected. I will try it again at some point, the restaurant not the oatmeal, and see if I can give a better review. Hopefully they’ll be more clear about what they’re serving and maybe hire another waiter. Street parking is available. Metered. Parking cops are the worst in this area so be careful. You might not enjoy your meal either and if you get a ticket on top of it your day is totally ruined.

Creative, goofy place, with good food. Lots of menu options. Fruity water! All sorts of interesting books and furniture! Sit up front and it’s like an open-air patio almost. Kind of a weird crowd when I went though, if that bothers you and unreliable hours. Maybe call ahead if it’s early in their open hours, or they might still be closed. As we were leaving this dude was talking to me about ninjas having swords(and some other stuff I didn’t really catch) because I was in my motorcycle gear and ride a Ninja…

Super pricy for the quality and portions you get! Great, original recipes, but with the new staff it’s clearly not being executed as originally intended. The portions are small and they were out of many items. The cashier had to instruct the chef how to make it and still it was very boring to eat. Service: I orders at the counter, got my plate served. Returned it myself to the counter and paid there too. No need to leave a tip for that. Go here for coffee, tea and other simple or premade items and the wireless. Looks like they have some cool events going on too, but I don’t know if that’s still happening I applaud the creativity and the friendly staff, but this place needs a face lift and a new menu to stay open. Fingers crossed that they will finds it way

I’ve been here a few times. This is my favorite vegan spot that I have tried. I am not vegetarian but have tried other spots and this particular spot offers healthy food without you having to ignore your tastebuds. Definitely try the Elderberry juice and I am in love with their different smoothies. Their french toast with almond butter and strawberries is to die for. Every time I come here I try something different and I have yet to be disappointed.

Tried the place out yesterday, Sunday morning. Easy iced mocha with almond. I liked how raw it tasted. The barista was cool. He was very accommodating and chill at the same time– great combo. Place looks super cute. Lots of seating. Parking lot, street parking and metered parking all around. Will come back

My grandma and I went here yesterday. Such a cute café. I love the mix matched furniture, old books, and lovely flower arrangements. Nice calm ambiance. The food was great! The server gave us kale corn chowder samples which my grandma ended up ordering a buddhi bowl of. The buddhi bowl is pretty much quinoa and rosemary potatoes added to the soup. I ordered the frittata which was sooooo delicious. My only complaint is that the servings were small. I was still hungry after. My favorite thing is the Teechino!!! I quit drinking coffee 2 years ago, but still get cravings. Teechino is the answer I’ve been looking for. It’s made out of barley, dates, chickory and other good stuff that magically concocts a coffee-like beverage. Yum! Will definitely come back here when I’m in the area :)

Elderberries is like a church dedicated to vegetables. Arches framing psychedelic murals, mosaic tilework, vaulted ceilings — It is everything I think of when I lovingly remember L.A. It inspires you to be your absolute healthiest. I love the Git Yer Greens smoothie with kale, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon and ginger, and then I add the Spirulina booster for an extra $ 2. The juice itself is 16 oz. It’s so dense that you can keep adding water to it and prolong your sipping enjoyment. They have a nice little library, or you can just hang out and doodle and write while talking to the barista. My favorite salad is the Shire with grilled eggplant, zucchini, sprouted quinoa, arugula, cashew cheese and caramelized onions with honey mustard dressing. It’s wholesome and unpretentious as the name says. When I’m a little hungrier, I like the Grilled Mac Daddy, brown rice mac on buckwheat bread with tomato and red pepper spread. It’s like something my mom would have put in my brown bag lunch with last night’s leftovers. The vibe here makes it so mellow. I never feel rushed or judged. There’s a cool pilates fusion workout place next door and an old school florist. It isn’t the Sunset Strip you think of in pop culture, but it’s the soul of Cali.
