It’s time to fire Thomas M. Drischler, taxicab administrator for the city’s Department of Transportation. This division needs to be de-​funded and all of the city «workers» terminated.
1) They are acting as a publicly funded «chamber of commerce» for the city’s seven taxi cab operations.
2) The staff doesn’t investigate complaints.
3) With the attempt to stop competition from Über, they have shown themselves to be too much in bed with the taxicab companies.
I wonder if Drishcler needs an independent investigation to see if he has taken kickbacks from these taxicab companies.

Canyon Country, CA
This office is RIDICULOUS. If you need a license for taxi drivers or ambulance drivers, you HAVE to come here to get your DOT license. The hours are only 10 – 12 and 1 – 3 on Mon-​Thurs. That’s pretty crazy considering how many people need to go through this office. I had to go in to get my license renewed, took almost 2 hours, 30 people in front of me in line. The only good thing is the staff are super nice and wonderful. Everything else is terrible, if Unilocal had 0 star ratings, this would get it easily.
TLDR: hours are only M-​Th 10am-​12pm, 1pm-​3pm. Expect long waits, but nice staff

this review is specifically for the parking enforcement bureau. i parked at a 1-​hr meter in west la. i read the meter, fed the meter, reviewed all the signs, looked at the color of the curb, measured the distance from my tire to the curb, and contemplated all the ways i could possibly offend them. when i got back, i had a ticket. not for anything parking related, but because my front license plate is missing (from my relatively new car). this is just low. what a racket. i wish i could start ticketing people for no reason when im short on cash.
