Arthur is a one-man lounge act who’s been on «America’s Got Talent» and can be found entertaining the visitors of the Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo. He sits at a rig with a couple keyboards, cymbals, and chimes set up around him, as well as a sort of foot organ made of PVC pipes beneath him(photo: ). He tends to play a bass(but yesterday he has a guitar), with a drum stick attached to the end for hitting the cymbals, and a pen stuck on at another angle to play one of the keyboards(photo: ). Between songs he chats with the audience, asks people their names, and during songs he shouts out their names with a higher pitched voice, like, «Hoy! PATRICK!!» He’s actually recording himself singing or saying various things which he plays back repeatedly through the song. Last week these girls, that couldn’t have been older than 11 or 12, got into an argument by the Christmas tree over whom the last song Arthur sang was for. «Nuh-uh, he wrote a song about ME! And I gave him $ 6, so what are you gonna do about it?! HUH?!» It was cute. Arthur’s really a joy to watch, and he brings flavor to this section of Little Tokyo which is so different these days than what it used to be.
