Considering that this was the first event I rolled to solo since my non-elite days as a +1AND considering that this was not held in my neck of the woods I still had a great time. I luckily got there earlyish and was able to enjoy the gallery for a few minutes before it turned into a sweatfest smelly sauna up in there. And let me tell you, boy did it get sweaty and muggy and smelly up in there. I am a sweater. I will fully own up to it. I could feel rivers of sweat running down my body from boobs to butt crack. Not sexy. Also not sexy were the wafts of human funk that kept coming my way. no bueno. Loved loved loved the different sangria varieties and LOVED Far Bar’s mini tacos. I wanted to grab like 10 or 20 of those suckers off of the tray just for myself but alas I was good and only had 1. I couldn’t exercise as much restraint with the beer however! I grabbed 4 or 5 bottles one after the other. I swear I’m not a booze hound, I needed that ice cold goodness to cool me off! I was wearing a blazer of all things and I am pretty sure I would have passed out if I hadn’t had a steady supply of beer on hand to keep my temperature down. Thanks to Vinh and Alvin for keeping me liquored up! ‘Twas a teensy bit too crowded after a while to be able to properly saunter through the gallery and view all of the artwork adorning the walls. I definitely witnessed a piece or two come crashing down yet somehow miraculously none of it seemed to have been damaged. I chose to steer clear and hung out right in front of the door downstairs so I could catch a cool breeze. Good times as always and it taught me my lesson to never again go with«classy» over«trashy» for my elite event wardrobe picks. I’ll be wearing as little as possible to all future events to avoid any further sweat-fests!

HOTHOTHOT! Literally and figuratively! — DJ Dominique spinning the best of the best — Far Bar’s ahi tuna taro tacos should really be re-named crack tacos b/c I kept going back for 5th and 6th and 7th… lost track of count after that — Apple Sangria was super refreshing — Surrounded by very interesting artwork Kudos to Katie, Christina and the rest of the crew! Love it!

Yes, I finally popped my cherry… two years writing reviews for Unilocal and this was my first Unilocal event. I can’t compare this to any other Unilocal event but I had fun! I met some cool-ass people, drank like a sailor and tasted some good food. It was hotter than Satan’s ass in there but the sounds of DJ La Muerte spinning on the turntables and ice cold Kirins being passed around made it tolerable. I really enjoyed the falafel wraps, mini ahi tuna tacos and the Four Leaf’s crepes. Katie B. and Christina Y. are awesome for setting this event up! Speacial thanks to: Barry W. — thank you for letting me swim in your slip stream Micheal C. — bona fide rock star Clara K. — you are a keeper! Valerie C. — you put big cheeseburger smiles on my face Andrius A. — You are a V.I.P with me Bong E… my Pinoy brotha …and to all the other Unilocalers I met but due to many libations I cannot remember your names but I got love for ya!
