It was lunch time and I was starving! Walked in to find a cute little hole in the wall café filled with tons of people. We squeezed ourselves in a cramped booth since there was such limited seating. I decided to order the Veggie Falafel Wrap. I paid almost $ 8 for a plain wrap. When it arrived, it literally just looked like a dry burrito on a large plate. I don’t know what it was, but the flavor was extremely peculiar. The wraps I have had elsewhere taste SO much better. I was unfortunately disappointed. I could’ve gone to another restaurant, paid 2 extra dollars for more quantity and better tasting food. The best part of the visit was the free tea that they gave to us after our meal. It was served in a tiny glass antique cup and had the most interesting flavors mixed in. I might return to find out how their crepes taste. They had a display by the register of a dessert crêpe and it looked delicious. But I can guarantee that I will not return for their Mediterranean food. Side note: The service was great and the staff is extremely nice!

We had a great experience today, as we expected after reading Unilocal reviews. I ordered chicken gyro and it was delicious. Also, we had two desserts(yum!) and a mint tea. The service was great. Highly recommend.

Their web site said they were open, I walked over and they were locked tight 25 minutes before the posted closing time even though the neon sign was flashing«open» Pity that because I had been looking forward to trying them.

Because I’ve gotten used to the excellent middle eastern cuisine of kabul afghan, yiasso and others, I was a bit let down by the shawarma here. Still very good though, I gorged on it. The coziness and location of the shop(los altos downtown is beautiful during the christmas season) and the excellent service/people behind the counter make up for anything lacking, if at all.

Great customer service, you feel family like home cooked middle eastern food. They don’t really cater but I had an event in the area recently and they went above and beyond for me. It is great to know that places like this are flexible. I really appreciate it. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Their food presentation is lovely, and when your plate arrives you think you’re going to have an amazing experience, but unfortunately the food itself is below average. I have been here twice, and was pretty disappointed both times. Their gyros meat is nowhere near as flavorful as other places I have been to, and my lunch companion’s 2 chicken choices were also bland. The best item I’ve sampled is their lamb kebab, simply because lamb is a very flavorful meat and although they hadn’t added anything to it, it could stand on its own. But even the salad dressing is tasteless. Net — you can get far better Mediterranean food elsewhere.

I love Mediterranean food, and I was VERY disappointed with Café Nur. Ordered the chicken kebabd with rice, salad and pita to go. The chicken was very tough and dry, and the seasoning was awful. The rice was tasteless and mushy, and the two quarter pieces of pita were stale. I held out hope for the salad thinking that it’s pretty tough to mess up a green salad, but they did. The salad was drowned in a hideous green dressing, which made it completely soggy and wilted. At a minimum, the dressing should’ve been on the side for a to go order, but to put so much on that it was swimming is baffling. I don’t usually give one star reviews, but the food wasn’t just not good. It was truly bad. I was very surprised when I saw all of the good Unilocal reviews. Maybe it was because I got it to go, but I’m skeptical that it would be that different. So, I sincerely doubt that I would be going back ever.

Mediterranean, mostly Turkish and Greek food. Good selection, cafeteria-café service. Family owned and operated business in downtown Los Altos. Always friendly service and good food at very reasonable prices. In the past year I’ve eaten here several times with friends and they also enjoyed the efficiency and the food. Will visit again.

Excellent. I’ve had the wraps and shish kebab plates many times. They provide very generous portions and their quality has been great every time. The place is small, definitely a café. No bar or other amenities that you would expect from a larger restaurant. However, the staff has always been nice, and they offer a good selection of food. I like the fact that they’re open late(for Los Altos), and are a convenient alternative to the more expensive Greek place across the street.

So I should start with… we’re picky! I catered with Café Nur for my company, and we were just not amazed!!! We thought the white rice was slightly under cooked, the falafel wasn’t tasty, the nan was crunchy and some said the hummus was too watery(but it tasted good to me). So that was disappointing for us. Teaches us for trying something other than DishDash!

So thankful this spot is open when the rest of Downtown Los Altos is closed. Everything was fresh and delicious. The falafels were served hot and the pita was lightly toasted. The staff is very customer service driven too. I made a modification on the falafel plate. Never was much of a fan of baba ghanouj, sorry mom. They easily changed it out with dolmas.

Solid kebab-shop place. Clean, good food, good service. The wrap gyros meat(lamb/beef) sandwich was very good. Served on lavash and then pannini grilled just long enough to make it hold together and give it a few lines of color. For those who remember this as the crêpe place before, they done a simply great job on upgrading the interior and making it more spacious. Heads up that the harissa has some real kick to it.

quaint downtown los altos… weekend afternoon stroll along main for lunch… café nur a slim and narrow café style restaurant. menu behind wall… casual counter order and take a number… fairly empty weekend afternoon… placing an order of home fries, beef & lamb wrap and turkish coffee…$ 18 total after tax and tip… food delivered to table in roughly little over 5 minutes… home fries are soft and limp… side of standard ketchup… basically, soft fries… the wrap is long and skinny… nice and toasty outer… meaty center… little dry, but decent with some hot sauce on the table… turkish coffee is tasty and strong… bit gritty from the coffee grinds… a simple meal…

Love this place! Always fresh, delicious food served quickly and with a smile. We’re there at least once a month for lunch. Don’t forget to order their fresh hummus!

This is my fallback place for lunch, Though I’ve tried only their wrappers. I believe I’ve tried all of them. And I’d recommend all of them, though I like the chicken sheikh kabab wrapper the most.

Pretty decent Mediterranean food. I had the chicken shish kebab. The portion size was good for the price and it left me pretty full. I didn’t really like the veggies that came with it but that’s really just me not liking certain vegetables and not that it wasn’t good. My boss and I sat outside which probably attributed to the okay service. Probably wont’ come back again, but I would recommend this place if you’re looking for Mediterranean in Los Altos.

Pretty basic décor and finishings but the food was exceptional. We had the sampler for the appetizer and everything was rich and flavorful. I had the triple grill for my entrée and the meats were well seasoned and tender, and the portion was generous(enough for two meals!). Great place for a casual lunch.

The falafel salad was really great. They open early for people who pick up lunch around 10 like me. The five stars are for the falafel themselves. They were so soft and delicious – Just perfect! Maybe I am used to the whole foods falafel that might just be the driest on earth. Great lunch spot!

I was hungry and needed food and needed to get to a business meeting down the street and had some time to kill. Food was ok, but not great. I got meat, salad and rice. I would have loved to see pita with this too. Seemed to be missing from the dish. I usually gobble down this type of food but here I didn’t finish the plate and left a lot. There was an taste to the food that I couldn’t place and didn’t like. Service was friendly and I was there in the middle of the day so perhaps that had something to do with it.

This is identical to Café 220 in downtown Palo Alto; same owners and menu. I don’t recommend the veggie wrap: It has potato salad, dolma, and sauce. It just doesn’t work. the ingredients are bland to begin with, then they add too much pepper, to cover up the bland flavor. Skip it.
