It’s a chain restaurant… So, with that expectation I give it 5 stars. Consistently good food. The whole family likes it. Cute bar up front if you don’t need a table. We almost always get the gyro meat platter to share — gyro meat, tomatoes, pita, yum. And a Greek village salad. Other dishes have also been delicious and decently portioned. Front room is pretty noisy.

We sat at the bar 10:30 pm for late night dinner and the bartender is cool and was generous in letting us taste the Greek wines. The special Opa sangria is fun and comes with a bottle of grand marnier flipped into the glass(kind of like a Mexican bulldog margarita). Food wise, the spicy shrimp saganaki is NOT a saganaki at all. Barely any cheese not to mention a flame! It is tasty but expect to be disappointed if you are looking forward to flaming cheese! The beef skewer was decent – crispy on the outside and tenderly raw inside.

One of the good places in the bay area! The food is very tasty and the service is good. I would highly recommend the Musaka! It almost feels Greek :-) also, if you want a drink, I would highly recommend the Opa! Sangria. The pita and olives are a great starter.

Finally had a chance to dine at the Opa! chain restaurants, and the food was surprisingly good and very decently priced. We sat in the back, which unfortunately gave us very limited attention from our waiter. He came a total of 3 times, to take our order, one time in between, and at the end to give us our check. We started with the frito misto which was a mix of fried calamari and veggies. Very good. We also had the free appetizer of a dip which our waiter recommended the spicy avocado. It was quite tasty with the pieces of pita bread. I ordered the combo of chicken and beef skewer with french fries. The chicken was very moist and tender, the beef was a bit chewy for a medium rare. The fries with feta cheese was absolutely great! Overall, the food was great, but the service could’ve been better. Would definitely be back at one of the locations.

My husband and I had Thanksgiving Eve dinner here with my sister and her family. My sister lives in Mountain View and Opa is only a couple of miles from her house, it’s kid friendly, and we like the food here. Win-win for everyone! We checked in and showed our check-in to the server and promptly chose the Fiery Feta Dip for our free dip. Tangy, garlicky, a little salty – this dip is a must try here. We eat enough hummus at home, so I always want to order something different when we’re at a Mediterranean place. We also got our usual order of Opa Fries. With four of us sharing, both apps were gone in like a few minutes! I really liked the Pork Souvlaki Kebabs I ordered. The pork was tender, not dry and overcooked as it usually is in a lot of places. So tasty thanks to the marinade they used to flavor the meat! Love the rice pilaf too. The portion was pretty generous too. I can never eat dessert here just because the apps and entrée fill me up, leaving no room for dessert. My husband liked the Moussaka he ordered, though he was a little disappointed that the Pasticio was not available. Kinda strange that they had run out of Pasticio so early into their dinner service. My sister had the Chicken Souvlaki and my brother in law had the Lamb Souvlaki. My 20 month old niece loved the Chicken Souvlaki and the Opa Fries! As for beverages, we opted for our usual, a round of Sangria. So easy to drink! Service is good and we’ve never had to wait too long for our food here. We tend to get here around 5:30ish on account of the little one, so the restaurant is usually just starting to get busy at that time. Definitely looking forward to going back!

I’ve been here numerous times. Food is okay but the service can be horrible at times. I pretty much only eat here if I have to.

I came here with my colleagues the other day, and it was in such a cute location and looked charming inside as well, so we expected a great lunch. I ordered the fiery feta mac and cheese, which was pretty good. It was flavorful and slightly spicy. Sadly, several things happened… first, they forgot one of our orders, and that was rather inconvenient since we had to get back to the office soon. They also left a huge toothpick in my colleague’s pita sandwich, which I imagine is pretty scary to bite into/swallow a small piece of it. Other than the poor customer service, the place was okay. The poor customer service and attention to detail was unfortunate, but at least the ambiance was quite nice and our food tasted great for the most part.

This Opa! location in Los Altos has a lower rating than the one in Willow Glenn or Cupertino, for some reason. I’d like to see that changed/evened up with the others. I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for it yet, as I started eating here way back when they first opened some years ago. In any case, I would have probably rated them higher back then with five stars, for the more extensive happy hour menu that used to include ALL appetizers for half-price and $ 4 beer, and run 3 – 6 pm, no matter if you seat at the bar or not — anywhere actually was fine, inside or outside. They’ve changed it about 2.5 years ago to only selective half-price appetizers and if you seat at the bar, you get a better deal at nights(at least that’s how it works at their newest location in downtown Palo Alto on University). Anyway, my current rating is reflective of my recent visit in Los Altos for drinks and apps. I love their fries and souvlaki skewers. And you have to try their grand Opa! Sangria, topped off with Grand Marnier.

Chicken Greek cheesesteak was fantastic. Yellow mustard sauce was so good. Lamb pita was tough. Wouldn’t order again. Greek salad great. Feta fries also very good. Ordered via door dash. On time, correct order, and overall tasted great !

Have been here twice with my girlfriend and both times we have had fun. Great ambiance and setting, love the fire pit outside and the fact that its on the main strip in downtown Campbell. Good people watching for sure. Everyone at this place seems to be having a good time and enjoying the food and atmosphere. First time there we just ordered an app, the zucchini chips, and martini’s. The martini’s had ice in them still form the shaker but besides that they were OK. The zucchini chips were pretty good, had a nice light coating of batter and tasted fresh and the side dipping sauce was solid. Second time there ordered the Opa Sauté w/chicken skewer, zucchini chips & one of the flat breads. The Sauté with skewers and veggies were fresh and delicious, the zucchini chips were solid again but the flat bread had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much garlic spread on it, to the point the it overpowered the dish. The heirloom tomatoes, goat cheese and even the bread lost flavor because of the garlic spread. If it had been toned down one little bit this dish would have been perfect. All in all i would say we will definitely go back and chill at the fire pit and have drinks or go and have dinner there again.

HHALLDAYLONG!!! You heard that right! On their website, it said HH was over at 6 so we were rushing to make it there in time. Apparently no problem. Sat ourselves at the bar and our server showed up right away. She seemed pretty excited that it was our first time trying OPA. Food was great! The best greek food Ive had ever? No. but still delicious. Good selection for HH menu and large portions for $ 6 each. The zucchini cakes were delicious so make sure you order that! Only downer is no mixed drinks on the HH menu. Just beer and wine. So if you’re in the mood for some mixed cocktails, I would go elsewhere. Service was on point. Food was brought out in a timely manner and she was very helpful with menu suggestions. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. 4 stars

I’ve been here several times over the past few years and haven’t ever been disappointed. What really made the difference this last visit was the fact that they were open until 11pm! I was visiting my parents a few weekends ago and wanted to get together with the 2 remaining friends I have in the area. They weren’t available until later which made dining out a bit of an issue. We wanted walking distance from my folks place, which limited us to downtown Los Altos, good luck finding anything here open past 9! Opa, however, open till 11 was the place to be that night. Our server was good humored, the beer was fresh and cold, and we even received a free app for checking in! My gyro was as good as its always been, and their greek salad looked good too. Kudos to you guys for staying open late, especially in Los Altos.

Been here twice now. First time was excellent, with both of us taking grilled souvlaki. Excellent food, side dishes — the tzatziki is amazing -, service, and mood. The second time we came back with friends for a seemingly guaranteed evening. We decided to be a bit more adventurous. That gave one of us food poisoning from the meatloaf, and a disappointing bottle of Santorini white wine. The rating is an average of these two visits.

My friend took me here during my first visit to Los Altos. We came to Opa! on a friend’s recommendation, and neither of us had tried it before. I was pretty satisfied with Opa! for its big portions, good flavors, and affordable pricing, but there is definitely room for improvement as well. We checked in and received the free dip(with two entrees) deal from Unilocal and ordered the spicy avocado dip. It was really good– there was a lot of avocado flavor, but the richness was cut but the subtle heat in the background. The bread it was served with was kind of a cross between a pita and focaccia. It was really fluffy and chewy like a focaccia but dry like a pita. The dip portion was pretty big, probably enough for three people(we didn’t finish and took it home). For my entrée, I ordered the lemon chicken orzo. The chicken was all white meat, which I appreciated, but the texture of the chicken was kind of weird for me in a way I can’t really describe. The sauce it was served with overly creamy, and made worse with the dollop of yogurt served on top of the whole dish. I did like how the sauce was yogurt based, however, and the flavors in it were pretty good: tangy from the yogurt, a little fruity from the lemon, a little smoky from the grilled chicken. The dish as a whole was very garlicky though, and the flavor of garlic lingered in my mouth for hours later(beware!). Vegetables were nice and crisp, and the orzo had a good bite. The portion was huge — definitely good enough for two meals. My meal came out to $ 12, which I thought was for a great price especially since I got to take so much of it home to eat later. Service was really slow, however. I’m definitely interested in coming back to try more!

Tl;dr There are a Lot of other good, authentic, inexpensive and flavorful alternatives to this hole. This place is pathetic. I’ve been a few times, cause friends wanted to go, but have been disappointed every time. I gave Opa enough chances, its time for a review. It was a Saturday night, mid evening, yet the place was a tad over a third full. Saturday in Los Altos is for lines and stuffed restaurants. That tells you something. Maybe this was a happening place in the 70s, maybe it was the ‘in’ thing to get drunk in the 80s at a divey loud Greek place, eat crappy Sysco generic Greek food and yell Opa every 2 minutes. Maybe the older crowd(that doesnt use Unilocal all that often) gets it in a way I don’t. But the place feels stale, and the dark interior doesn’t hide the worn atmosphere. The proportions are out of whack(piles of cheap fluffy flavorless ‘pita’ with 2 tiny scoops of fire feta) with the prices. With restaurant Greek(vs counter food) you either go giant greasy Olive Garden servings, or smaller, higher quality.(come on, it’s bread and rice, simple salads and cheap meat, its not suppose to be expensive) The waitress was exhausted and jaded and tried putting on a good face, hence the 2 stars. The medium rare lamb I ordered was barely colored on the outside and raw from center to surface. Barely warm. Though the waitress would promptly appear when drinks or desserts were to be ordered, it was not possible to flag her down to get the meat recooked. Not that that would have made the tough cuts any better. The salads and any vegetables served were sloppy in cut, inconsistent, crunchy(tomatoes and roasted zucchini are crunchy?), huge chunks or tiny slices, as if each vegetable was cut by a different, yet equally rushed cook. The overpriced chunk of baklava again tasted like it was out of a box delivered by Sysco, generic and flat, nothing delicate, crisp or fresh with the flavors of good walnuts and honey. There are plenty of good places on the peninsula that serve a fast gyro, a juicy skewer, a feta covered salad with house made dressing, and baklava I would serve my mother. This is not good, and it’s not one of those places.

They only take reservations for parties of 7+ so we waited for 30 minutes but it was worth the wait! The food was delicious! The bussers were efficient and kept our water glasses full and table cleared through each course. My only complaint is that the server himself rarely stopped by the table. He never asked us how our food was and we asked others for additional things we needed since he never stopped by after taking our order. He showed up again at the end of the meal and offered dessert. When we were ready to pay, again, we couldn’t find him. Other than his lack of attention to us, everything was great! And the rest of the staff certainly compensated for him.

Not a bad place to grab a casual meal. I enjoyed my gyro which was loaded with delicious yogurt and really loved the fresh mint in there. I wasn’t too impressed with the rice pilaf which came on the side. Also tried the sangria(just ok) and the meatball appetizer(too salty). I appreciated the complimentary app with the purchase of 2 meals. Our server was very friendly and outdoor seating by the heater was great for conversation.

I’ve been here three times now and the food is fantastic. I’ve gotten the flank steak with cheese on top. On Friday I ordered the whole Mediterranean sea bass and loved that it comes with sautéed spinach and potato wedges. The potatoes are baked and then fried, I think. The French Fries are outstanding and come with a mustard dipping sauce. They are served with feta cheese on top that give it so much flavor. No corkage for your first bottle and only $ 10 for each additional bottles. The alcohol prices are very good too. We got two desserts. The baklavah sundae and the chocolate cake with raspberry compote. Both were delicious and served with really good vanilla ice cream. I will definitely come back again soon.

I always love it here. The service is typically fast and friendly. I love their opa fries, I can eat it for days. I haven;t had too many of their dishes, but the kebabs are always good and the apps are delish. I wish I remembered the name of the dish I had, but it was good. Tasted fresh!

We stopped by for drinks and apps around 5pm, just in time for the happy hour — the place was pretty empty still — and we sat outside with two glasses of wine, a mezze platter and calamari. The food was disappointing and the service wasn’t great either — they forgot the calamari, didn’t refill water glasses, and we literally had to hunt them down to get another glass of wine. The appetizer platter came with gyro meat, chicken souvlaki, dolmades, and two very similar looking — vegetarian(not falafel) and meatballs. Calamari was soggy and the portion was tiny. I saw a lot of people come in and grab stuff to-go, so may be the main dishes are better? Overall, good enough for a Happy Hour, but not great at all.
