La Brasa Chicken

One the best Peruvian chicken places in this area. Chicken is on point and you get two big sides with it. Rice and beans are to die for! Plantains are also really good! Mexican coke available as well! Cheers!

This place is THE place to get any kind of Tex-​Mex/​Mexican/​Central American food. Everything we’ve had here is simply amazing; carne asada, pork ribs (which are huge!), quesadillas (also very big!), chimichangas, the rotisserie chicken, plantains… everything is juicy and charred to perfection! The sides are a little lack-​luster, but the entrees are so amazing and filling that you won’t have room for the sides. We eat here at least once a week!

The quality of the food and pricing is good. That’s the only reason it didn’t get 1 star. The customer service is atrocious and the lady at the front is a miserable person who has never been taught the appropriate way to greet/​handle a customer. She may be a manager and is always there which is unfortunate for La Brasa. We called in the order to make sure it was ready on time because like the people that work at La Brasa, we all have to get back to work as well. We go there from time to time and for the 2^nd time she got the order incorrect and made us wait an additional 20 minutes to get our food. She then stated «we may of not gotten your order right, is that okay?» I said that is not okay and proceeded to read off our correct order we talked about over the phone earlier. After she gave us our order, It was of course Incorrect and she forgot our chips/​salsa along with other specific instructions. They are understaffed and do not have the right staff behind the counter. Please only go there with simple orders such as a salad, quesadilla, or taco that goes with everything in the menu.

Okay this is just how much we like this place. This is my second time here and the food is still the same Grreat!
This time we had a farewell luncheon for a coworker and he enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere as well. I had the Chicken Nachos hold the peppers. It came out hot and was seasoned very well. I couldn’t eat it all so I had to get a to go box and just like my coworkers said I was snacking even while driving home. The nachos area corn based one. I enjoyed ALL of it!

BEST chicken and sides on this side of town! I have been a follower of La Brasa fro 4 years now. The place closed for a few months and remodeled and I was at a loss. NOW, she’s back with a vengeance. I LOVE LA BRASA !!!

This disgusting place not only got my order wrong, but gave me grossly soured rice and beans. I had my order to go so I didn’t realize it until I got home. Will never visit again. This dish was so sour, it made me sick to my stomach when I opened them. I live less than 5 minutes from this restaurant so this couldn’t have happened in that short time. Whomever packaged them had to smell it and neglected it. This makes me question the cleanliness of their chicken… Beware if you decide to go and smell your rice and beans…

I was coming here for years because it is by my parents house. Friendly staff, real nice people, BUT they must have new ownership/​management. I ordered food, was told 15 min over the phone so I waited 15 then left my home which is a 10 min drive. When I arrived I was told 5 min, I waited 10 and went to the young lady up front, and was told 5 – 10 more min. Young lady seemed careless and came off rude and the rest of the staff appeared to just be hanging out in the back. I asked to speak to who was in charge, and this older woman came out (I hate to assume, but I think she may have been under the influence maybe not, I can only speculate) and I explained how long I have been waiting. And she replied with «do you want me to give you raw chicken» that was that, I got a refund and left. And with so many other pollo places I’ll never come back. Poor customer service, they’re going to run this place out of business running it like this.

1 Star because the lady who took my order was extremely rude. They gave me food that I did not order then would not deduct the price or take it back even though I never told them to make it.

Ordered their steak and cheese sandwich. It was mostly cheese and maybe a tablespoon of beef. The only thing that kept them from getting a one star review was their French fries and spicy green sauce. The sauce made my «cheese» sandwich palatable.

It’s okay. I don’t think any place compares to El Pollo Rico in Arlington, VA. It will do though if you just want some quick Peruvian chicken.

I gave this place a second try and ordered the same thing, chicharron con yuca. Maybe they had a different cook making the food because it was super delicious this time! I also ordered the Tres de Leche. It was frozen and pretty gross. But damn the meal I had today was amaze-​balls!

Now I came to this place prior to the fire or whatever had them closed for a while. The food tasted great. The half chicken and 2 sides were well made to include the rice and beans perfectly cooked. Even the portion sizes for the cost was amazing.
After the reopening, I get almost half of what I got for the same price, or more, mushy rice and beans and the chicken doesn’t taste right. I’m still unsure why you have to wait almost 10 mins after you place your order when the food is right In front of you. Maybe the chicken tasted so good because of the old grease and chicken on the spits, but if the restaurant closed because of a grease fire, they are headed there again cause I can see the dirt and accumulation of grease on the grills. And I was there when it opened.
I’m disappointed. I gave it one more chance, but I’ll pass. It’s not what it used to be. I forgot to take pics as I waited 13 minutes for someone to get my order. Don’t be in a rush or call ahead if you really want to be subjected to mushy rice.

Just tried to order and there were 2 employees who looked at us rolled their eyes and stayed in the back. They clearly didn’t want to take orders today. We waited another 10 min to see if they would change their mind while we waited at the registers to order and they continued to talk in the back while looking at us. We obviously left we will take our business elsewhere.

Bueno yo que puedo opinar de este pollo que es un total veneno ya que días atrás trabaje para la dueña de este pollo y con mis ojos vi como preparaban y condimentaba este pollo lo primero que les voy a desir es que no usan guantes lo segundo lavaban el pollo y también en ese lava manos lavaban el mapo un día el lugar de donde se lavaba el mapo estaba tapado pues me dijeron que ay lo lavara y yo solprendida dije como es posible pero como ya vez donde manda capitán no manda marinero pues obedes disiendo en mi jamás volveré a comer de ese pollo y jamás lo comi aún trabajando ay es un horror de suciedad en la que cosinan y trabajan yo nunca estuve de acuerdo pero no era mi negocio pero la dueña es una cochina de primera y una mujer amargada quería venir a barre el piso conmigo trato de humillarme frente alos compradores pero jamás lo permití sólo emplea imigrantes para aser de ellos uno mediocres que usa a su antojo esa señora lo que Merese es que le cierren el negósio por esplotada y abusiva

very poor service let me start by saying don’t go here if you want a decent place to eat do not come here if you’re looking for good food do not come here and if you’re looking for bad service in OK food you should go here. Bad costumer service.

Don’t waste your time here, the food isn’t great, almost choked on some bones from their chicken sandwich, they forgot one of the meals that we paid for, and there was flies all over the place.

This place is now closed due to it being a fire hazard. not sure if it’s going to open again. but the food there is pretty good…

First time here, walked in no greeting. Lady that took my order was very nice. The lady that prepared my food was rude. Overall the food was good I got a quarter chicken with fried yucca and rice and beans. So much food and price was perfect.

Today, I ordered the chicken burrito, for which my hopes never rose above three stars on a Unilocal scale). Today this 1.5−3 star maybe turned my taste buds into a 4 star believer.
Piping hot and dripping juice out of its foil wrap. My burrito was pipping hot and ready for the taking. It comes with rice, corn, pico de gallo and that juicy chicken. While the rice is bland, it serves mainly as a filler. The corn was sweet (frozen tasting) and the pico de gallo tasted fresh and citrusy. The flavors rounded off so well, I pushed my limit and ate the whole thing (can you say I.T.I.S.?).
This was clearly not an authentic Mexican burrito, but I don’t think it was trying to pose as one either. I loved it though. Enough to make me want to come back and try other tex-​mex items in the menu.

This place is absolutely delish !! & consistent. I’ve been coming here for lunch/​dinner… First I was a little hesitant about the whole in the wall looking place– but after trying the chicken quesadillas I’ve been hooked! It’s a great kids combo that comes with fries and a drink for only $ 5.00.
I’ve also had the chicken fajitas and that comes with rice, salad and beans very flavorful and taste so good.
And how could I forget to mention the Guacamole !!! Yummy to my tummy !!!
They also sell calypso lemonades and the Peach is my favorite !!
You should give this place a try… I will update my review should I try anything else…

Here’s why…
I’ve been coming to this place since it opened. The chicken has an amazing flavor to it. I can’t tell if its authentic or not but all I can say is their chicken is delicious. Its very well seasoned and it is cooked to perfection. The fried yuca is great and goes well with the white sauce they give you. Their corn can be a bit oily, which is my only gripe.
As far as the service, they have definitely become friendlier, I can tell they are trying to be nice, which wasn’t always the case. They used to be really rude and it seemed as if I would bother them by ordering. I’m glad they changed that because their food is too good to be ruined by awful service.
Water is free which should be the case in all restaurants.
The verdict…
I would recommend this place to anyone. It’s tasty, healthy, and that green sauce (whatever it is) is spicy and absolutely amazing.
