Tiffanie is a miracle worker! I asked for a big chop, thinking I could make it work. She gave me professional advice on my natural hair type informing me of the proper care. My natural hair was too short for my liking, so I asked for help with extensions. Tiffanie went above and beyond to make sure I left the style seat happy. My extensions will blend perfectly with my natural hair, and I know I have found my stylist to help keep my natural hair healthy.

I am paying customer that made an appointment at the salon based on the positive reviews that I seen on Unilocal.Unfortunately, I witness Latoya and her customer discussing others very loudly within ear length. I do not recommend this salon to anyone that is looking for a professional salon to get their hair done.

After taking care of my natural hair on my own for the past year and a half I decided to switch things up for my birthday and get a wash and blow done at a salon. I was pleased to find that there was a salon that did natural hair in my area and even more excited to see that they had a great star rating on Unilocal.So I went on Beyond Hair’s website to book an appointment. Because I am aware that come places may not be actively using their online appointment system, I called to confirm that my request for a 2pm wash and blow dry was received and the answer was affirmative.
I was in the area already so around 1:15 I stopped by to see if I could come early. The stylist told me she had two people she was doing and I should come in an hour. Not a problem (I was early anyway and an hour was the 2pm slot i had reserved anyway). I came back at 2:11 and was told that she still needed 30 more minutes. I said sure.
I came back again a little bit before 3 and was relieved to see that she was sitting in her chair and didn’t have any clients.
After waiting for some time minutes she instructed me to sit in a wash chair. I was excited because almost two years after my big chop I was going to have a magnificent birthday blow out. So imagine my confusion and utter dismay when she guided another gentleman to a wash chair and began washing his hair dying his eyebrows and talking about doing an S curl. I waited about 20 more minutes (at this time it was a little before 3:30) and decided NO. I am not spending my day being shafted in this salon.
I packed up my stuff, informed her I was leaving and walked out.
**Sigh** I wish hair dressers would just be forthright and tell you to come back another day. Telling people to keep coming back and STILL not doing their hair shows utter disregard for your customer and lack of appreciation about the fact that they chose to do business with you.
My note to anyone else who comes here: I’m sure this is a nice place however don’t do the online reservation. It seems that those appointments are not as honoured by the hairstylists as walk ins or other appointments. Would I try them again? I doubt it. Maybe I’d go to the hair braiding lady. She seemed sympathetic to my cause.
However as this was my first time it definitely was not an experience I would want to repeat.

Just visited Beyond Hair for the first time and I was impressed. So not your typical black hair salon. I was immediately greeted by the staff and treated well from start to finish. I was impressed with how knowledgeable the staff was about ALL types of hair — natural, processed, weaved and braided styles. I was constantly asked if I was comfortable throughout the relaxer process. I wasn’t rushed or left unattended at anytime during my visit. I was worked on by stylist Tonya, who is new to Beyond Hair. She was patient and knew exactly how to treat my sensitive scalp.
I was equally impressed with the salon and how bright and clean it was. It seems that the customer is appreciated at Beyond Hair and that is exactly how it should be.

At least one of your stylist didn’t get the email. The discussion I had with Gina included the cut I wanted and whether or not I wanted extensions. Also, I was encouraged to leave the grey in.
I was a walk-​in on a late Sunday afternoon. The stylist was busy at the time. She asked me to return in about half an hour. When I returned, she was still busy. She handed me a book of hair styles to select from. I found one I liked. I waited for another 30 – 40 minutes before she could do my hair. Although she was very nice, she was rushed. She said she didn’t normally work on Sunday. In addition, her husband was waiting out back for her. The result of this visit has been documented to you in emails and via this media.
Furthermore, I shared my experience with one of your eyebrow stylist whom I met, along with her partner, near your business, in Gunston, a few months ago.

Go see Tiffanie today for beautiful natural hair care. It has frustrated me to no end that a salon that is this convenient did not have anyone capable of taking care of my natural hair. Tiffanie is not only great with hair care but she has an eye for style. She is extremely flexible and managed to give me a great cut that fit my conservative personal style. My daughters are 17 and 12 and they received two totally different and absolutely perfect hair styles for their natural hair as well. I suffered through a hairdresser for years who was great with hair care but everyone who left her chair looked exactly the same. Not with Tiffanie, she knows how and when to switch it up and offers great advice about holistic hair care.
My past experiences with this Salon have been so/​so. In the past few years it has changed hands several times and there are new stylist and barbers all the time. Thank goodness I happened to give the Salon another try. I can’t imagine going anywhere else for my family. My son goes to the Barber and always looks really nice too. The place is not particularly fancy but the prices are reasonable and make no mistake about it, these five stars are for Tiffanie. I hesitated in writing this review because I don’t want her to get so busy that I can’t get in to see her but her talent demands that I share. She’s great whether you are 8 or 80 :)
I saw a lot of really nice work in locks, twists, weaves and braids while I was there too. It really is a one stop shopping kind of place and although I didn’t receive a service from any of the other hairdressers, everyone who left looked beautiful and happy. Check out Beyond Hair… you don’t all have to see Tiffanie!!! Please for the love of goodness, try the other stylist too. P. S. Take cash for your tip… you can’t add them to the receipt.

Yes! My prayers have finally been answered. I am new to the Lorton area and was seeking someone who could do my eyebrows and give amazing blow dries. Coming from the Bethesda area there was blow bars and threading locations galore. initially when looking at the salon it was targeted to specializing in African-​American hair, but I noticed a sign outside for threading so I decided to walk in. That is where I met the girl of my dreams her name is January and she is awesome! January is an experienced stylist who has thread eyebrows for the past 10 years. Being middle eastern I’m very particular of how people do my eyebrows but she definitely impressed me. First she did my eyebrows and then informed me that she used to work at dry bar, could this be true all in one just for me? she was amazing she did my eyebrows and blowed out my long thick hair in 45 minutes! She did a beautiful job, was very professional and particular. I have to admit I was totally surprised, I totally judged this salon by its cover. But once I went inside I had an amazing experience, I cannot wait to go get my eyebrows and hair blown out again by her. I went out last night with all of my friends and they could not stop making comments on how good my eyebrows and hair looked. January is a true gem to the neighborhood and I’m so happy to have her. girls you have to go check her out!!!

As a follow up from my experience, the manager/​owner Amer did contact me regarding the incident. Amer apologized for Simone’s actions and was willing to have my weave install done by another hair stylist for free. After careful thought, I decided not to move forward. I am very careful and particular about my hair and I did not know the stylist nor able to really view her services. I thought it was very professional and thoughtful of Amer to contact me and go the extra mile in regards to customer service. Customer service is rare in this profession. Kudos to Amer.

OMG I LOVEEEEEEEE THIS SALON!!! I def will be coming back I got my hair braided by Cece and she did an excellent job! I’ve waisted so much money on this one hairstyle and when I went to Cece she took care of it and it’s still perfect on day 3! It’s a little too tight but what’s beauty without a little bit of pain? Overall the staff was very polite and welcoming I will definitely be returning to this salon! I highly suggest you check it out as well!

I’ve been coming here for about 3yrs now. Although the salon has gone thru many changes, they have always been professional and there’s always someone available to do your hair or they can make an appointment at a reasonable time.
I am very particular when it comes to my hair because my hair is natural, thick and I keep blonde color in it. So I have to be very careful with who I allow to do my hair.
I am very into hair care, color, weave and having the right style for me. I hate it when someone uses the hot comb in my hair or cannot do an appropriate blowout and style. My daughter and I have had our hair done by Simone for the past few months now and she always does a wonderful job. She knows how to work with natural hair, color, weaves, braids and style. She is a fast worker also. I have seen her assist new stylist and give great tips! She is very pleasant and we always have a great experience when she does our hair. Simone has great work ethics and is one of the most hardest working stylist that I know. I highly recommend her to do your hair.

This place has given me hope for salons again. Never triple booked, never a 3 hour wait, nor overpriced. Ms. Eloise has worked magic on my natural hair, and is very knowledgable about hair care, not just a stylist. I know I can book an appointment and get in and out, and my style lasts, even in the summer humidity. The shop is clean and bright and inviting, and a hidden gem in Lorton.

Five stars to Simone! She is awesome. Check her out and let her make you awesome too! Excellent customer service from the manager too!

The shop is clean and airy. The staff was VERY friendly. Tammy did my hair and did an awesome job! I got my hair washed and conditioned with non-​sulfate shampoo, per my request. My hair felt awesome. One of my best memories was the ottoman at the dryer, it’s the little things. I walked in for my appointment and sat right down, did my consultation and got right to work. I was in/​out in a more than a reasonable time frame. All the key factors to a great hair experience.
