Amazing food owner is very friendly ok price only one sauce. I go every time I get a haircut next door. This place never disappoint. I recommend the fish and the Shrimp and scallops plater

Excellent food! Went here one day and fell in love. Definitely recommending to any and everybody, had grabs and anything else that a seafood lover would want. Pricing isn’t cheap but is fair. The foot quality is superb so take it in hindsight. Humble & friendly owner, love the place!

This place is very clean… however the crabs are not that great. I love the food because it is very fresh… however it lacks seasoning… but I add my own. The owners are extremely nice too. I do recommend if you like seafood… other than the crabs.

This place has some pretty decent crabs. We’ve ordered take-​out several times and never had problems. Always very tasty.

We tried all the fried seafood. It was ok. Crab sticks, clams & scallops are the best, I thought. Coleslaw was yummy. Did not like the crab cakes though.

I must have been there on an off day. Way off. Fish and shrimp platter was awful and overpriced. Salty, cold, and just plain nasty. I was so disappointed considering the positive posts here. I threw half of it away. And I won’t be back.

I bought a dozen large steamed male crabs from Father & Son Seafood yesterday. The service was great; the man that helped me was very nice and friendly. On top of that, when I got back home to eat my crabs, they were meaty and delicious.

This place offers great customer services. We used to get my Oysters and Shrimps there. We call in and pick up the food or just order and go to Publix for shopping. Great location, Route 1.

Got a combo with shrimp, imitation crab and fish. It all had a fishy taste and the French fries had a bitter aftertaste. I’d rather have eaten from McDonalds. Will never eat here again.

The biggest and best crabs in Nova I have found. His are definitely from the Chesapeake bay in Md too. Even better than the SW wharf.

Been living in the area for a long time now. Today I finally came in to Father & Son. The employee was a older man, very polite and nice. I ordered the shrimp & crab cake platter. I will deff. be coming here more often. The crab cake was perfect & the shrimp was also.

[Takeout review:] Intrigued by the review of fried scallops — comfort food for me – I’ve given two tries to fried shrimp, scallops and oysters. In a word: Yuck. In two words: Ee yuck. Very thick breading, which results in the fish being overcooked and over-​hot. Weird taste to the scallops and shrimp as well. Kind of tastes like Mrs. Paul’s. The owner seems very nice, I don’t wish him ill, and maybe the steamed crabs and raw fish are better. But, if you’re going for fried shrimp or scallops… don’t do it!

My girlfriend and I came here to get some takeout and we were pleasantly surprised. We definitely ordered more food than we could handle but everything was great. We got some freshly steamed whole blue crabs and fried scallops. The crab was great but the fried scallops were ridiculous. We both like scallops in general, but these things were awesome.

I heard about this place through a coworker & now i’m hooked (haha, get it, cuz its fish?). Well anyway, I always get their breaded shimp basket with fries & hush puppies. What I like about here is you can basically customize how much stuff you want. The price is decent too. This is NOT a sit down place, in fact, theres only one chair to sit at, so its strictly carry out. The business owners are friendly and the wait is a bit lengthy, but if you call ahead then you are good to go!

This is an OK spot for a hole in the wall. I had the fish and shrimp special with greens. The greens were awesome and the fish was flavorful and crispy. The shrimp tasted a little freezer burnt and stale… but I was hungry and ate it anyway.

It’s a Korean run establishment, and if I lived closer, I’d try their bulgogee.
The fry is crisp and hot, not at all greasy. Kind of like a good cross between a thin beer batter and a breadcrumb coating. Nice service, but no restrooms, or tables. Well, there’s one at the end of the display cases, with a chair or two that was occupied, plus a bar-​high shelf, with no stools. We sat in the window.
Lots of vinegars and condiments. The fish fillets really were good, as were the scallops. But not as good as Shrimp King or that place on the Virginia shore. If those places hadn’t wowed me, I’d probably agree with some of the previous posters.
We had Mom’s super duper special, or something similarly named, and it was way too much food for the 2 if us – 2 (or 3?) giant styrofoam squares.
Good, inexpensive, friendly. I’d go back if I lived nearby.

I can say that this is the best «hole in the wall» seafood spot on Route 1 (so far). Ive tried a few other and the food had the taste of the way cleaning products smell. I had the whiting, jumbo shrimp, scallops, and some fries. The scallops may very well be the best fried scallops I’ve had from ANY restaurant. Fast service with a smile and comforting small talk gets Father & Son Seafood 4 stars.

Tried this place expecting to buy raw fish for cooking but instead I discovered it was a place for fried fish. The food was alright but not that amazing.

I love seafood and when I gotta have it I run straight to Father Son!!!
Also go here every Friday during Lent…

This is a great place for excellent, to-​the-​point fried seafood. They have great fish and shrimp and their fried scallops are amazing – they’re our favorite!
Stop by this place if you’re craving some comfort food that’s tasty and quick. Also recommended for families and groups. And yes, their crab legs and crabs (when they’re in season) are yummy.
