Just so everyone knows, Joe’s has closed it’s doors. too bad. They had a lot of potential.

Went here for dinner with my wife on a Friday Night. Very nice on the inside. Prompt attention from the hostess. They have a nice bar in the back that seemed to be busy. While we ate inside, It was nice to have the windows open. In the summer the deck upstairs is the place to be. I had the chicken fried steak and it was really good. I would recommend.

It could be so much better. Excellent building, outstanding rooftop, beautiful lower floor– the open front windows are a great touch. Too bad it is sadly underutilized. Food: Cobb salad was delicious, onion ring appetizer was tasty and the French fries with the fish and chips were well-seasoned and very good. The fish itself was a little mushy and a bit bland and the coleslaw that came with them was just terrible– literally an awful taste. Can’t put my finger on what it was but it was NOT good. Service: as mediocre as the food but without a delicious Cobb salad to put it over. We sat on the sidewalk outside, lured by all-night happy hour. As I sat waiting on my wife a young man approached and asked how I was doing, was I meeting someone, etc. He did not introduce himself. I told him my wife was in the restroom and he abruptly left. I had no idea if he worked there or was a teenager looking for spare change. I saw him later bussing tables. If your staff is going to interact with your customers, they need some etiquette training. Our server was obviously rushed despite the lower floor being entirely empty. Our appetizer beat our beers to the table. Our server never did not check on us after we got our apps until it was finished and she came back to take our order. The next time we saw her, we were ¾ done with our meal when she came over with the extra plates we had requested to share(we had our busser bring us those and several other items the server should have had at the ready). We were never offered another beer and largely felt ignored. The couples behind us were seated and waited quite a long time for initial service. We’re really not likely to return. I was hoping for MUCH more. My wife and I are former servers and restaurant managers so we notice the details, but at this restaurant’s price point we were not expecting white-glove treatment, just standard courtesy. This place has real potential, but it needs a manager to step in and tighten up a LOT.

Only Roof top bar in Longmont so I am giving it 4 stars! The portion sizes were good and the food was good! There are only 2 things they need to do: one add more options to the menu and 2 make the drinks better priced. $ 9 is way to much for a margarita. Also please start marketing that you have a roof too bar your place should be packed!!! Oh and lastly please get more local beer on tap !!! I really hope the owner sees this review and listens to my suggestions!!! Let’s start making downtown Longmont thrive :)

First off, really great atmosphere. The rooftop bar/seating is exactly what the doctor ordered after a stressful day at work. The bartender Bobby is attentive and polite, while keeping it classy. The service can be a tad on the slow side but never on the rude side. I would recommend Joe’s to anyone that likes to grab a quick drink after work in a comfortable environment.

Waiting list for the patio yet the place is empty. Ordered meatloaf sandwich– waitress comes back and says meatloaf is not is not available. Oh and no pork chops either. How does an empty restaurant run out of food? Horrible loud trivia going on inside.

I’d seen this place downtown and had been wanting to go for a while. We were both in the mood for steak. This place was a huge waste of time went. At what should be a really busy time on a Friday night, we were the only two people in the joint. All the windows were open so all the traffic noise, construction din, and exhaust came right in. We got menus and ordered drinks, only after he delivered the drinks did the server mention that their credit card machine was down and only taking cash. Despite the«STEAKHOUSE» on the awning, their menu said otherwise. There was only a single steak on the whole menu. Awesome. We left and we won’t be going back.

My wife Diane and I both active seniors and new residence of the Longmont area have been checking out all of the dining choices in the area especially those with decks. It was with great excitement we came to Joes on this past Friday for happy hour and dinner. Not open until 5pm? WOW so we went down to the pump house for a beer and then walked around until 5pm. They were packed so you were missing out not opening up until 5pm. At 5:15 we went upstairs at Joes and were delighted by the deck and nice breeze. The wait staff knew little about the beers and quoted us the wrong alcohol content on what they did recommend by that was ok. Now onto the food. Being our first time at Joes We ordered a few different things to kind of get the lay of the land. We were also sharing comments on the food with other first time people up there at 6 other tables near us rating the food from 1 – 10. It was kind of fun to while away the loooooong time on the service. Back to the food. We tried the deviled eggs not bad but were those artificial bacon bits and not the real thing? Next came the soup of the day some kind of chowder. It arrived cool to the touch and taste, sent it back. 10 minutes later she came with another cup, cool to the touch again sent it back. We found 4 other tables that had the same problem with the same soup. Shame… Next came the meals. Cheese steak for me, dried out meat and microwaved wrinkly bun. The fries were good. Diane, the hot brown, A real shame there. You had a chance to put something on the menu that other places in the area don’t have but you were way off the mark with dry deli turkey all congealed up with the mornay sauce. It was a ridged block so to speak like scrapple when it should have been hot and melty. It was hardly warm. Other items ordered by people around us were equally dismal. The fish and chips we deemed a 5/12/to 6 by 2 different tables, the country fried steak I was told was tasteless and the mashed potatoes tasted artificial. I saw 2 meal size salads just sitting without being eaten and inquired to people at the table about them and was told they tasted kind of funny so they weren’t going to take a chance. The pasta was given a 9 for size of potion size but a 5 for taste. This was 7 tables of first time patrons that love the deck but all came away with the no need to come back feeling. You’ve got a great location and a good menu along with fair prices but you need to do something about the food. Id’ love to come back and to tell people it’s a great place but things need to change or you won’t stay in business. Having a sign board on the sidewalk telling people the deck is open and opening earlier sure would help draw people to the great place you could be.

Joe’s apparently recently underwent a management or direction change, shifting from Italian to more Americana faire. I’d been there once before(under the new style) and like the ambiance(the street-side windows actually open to the street for an open-air feel), but apparently something changed from my first visit. I walked in on a Saturday evening and the dining room wasn’t even at a third capacity. I was told to sit anywhere, so I sat over next to the window. The greeter gave me a glass of water and then. .. I waited. I read on my e-reader but after ten minutes or so, no one had come by to even get a drink order, much less a food order. There were wait-staff. .. I know, I saw them. The place wasn’t that busy, but no one seemed interested in serving me. I heard one guy say that he’d be there in a minute, but multiple minutes passed and no one dropped by. Finally I just stood up, told the girl who was behind the bar cleaning glasses that no one had even taken my drink order and that I was leaving, and she just kind of shrugged and said«Sorry.» There are a lot of good places to eat on Main Street in downtown Longmont, and I have no idea how Joe’s is expected to survive if this is what their service is going to be like. Unlike some other reviewers, I actually liked the menu options. Too bad no one was interesting in letting me try any of them. The restaurant has«Please eat here or we’ll both starve» on the bottom of their menu. Well, I apparently I won’t be eating there, even if I wanted to.

I loved this place before they changed the menu, but now, I’m completely underwhelmed. They took away some amazing things(fried oysters! good pasta in Longmont!) and replaced it with standard bar food. The great wine list was replaced with two or three mediocre options… So disappointing. I probably won’t be back.

Went for dinner with my husband tonight. First time since they’ve implemented the new menu. We were worried when we walked in on a Friday evening and the place was empty. Being a beautiful summer evening, though, we wanted to sit on the rooftop patio. We were happy to see that everyone else had the same idea and there were only a few tables open when we got there, and they were all taken by the time we left. I got a grilled salmon salad and my husband got the chef’s salad. Both were reasonably priced and very good. The service was outstanding. We didn’t have to wait too long for drinks or our meals and our water glasses were always full. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody!

Oh Joe’s. I want to love you. I want to make you mine. I give you every benefit of every doubt. But it’s like that guy you’re just not in to. Second time dining here and the concept of the food/menu has completely changed, but the restaurant looks exactly the same. It used to be upscale food and now it’s Joe’s Grill with a more«grill» food take. But it doesn’t have a changed ‘grill’ atmosphere so you really are just dining in an identity crisis. We ordered the wedge salad, corn and crab chowder, fish tacos, chicken fried steak and grilled corn. All were just ok. They were also out of several beers and several dishes on the menu, which is odd for a 7pm on a Saturday night. We both agreed that no taste was particularly off putting, it’s just bland. That is the best word I can use to describe it. Nothing has a kick or a taste that makes you say«I have to come get this again». The space is actually beautiful and could be so much fun. To me it would make the perfect Torchy’s Tacos concept with an upstairs bar. They need to try a 3rd iteration of this place to make it more casual and the food needs to be kicked up several flavor notches and given an identity. Serving spaghetti and chicken fried steak on the same menu is just confusing. Sadly I would not recommend and I fear their doors will be closing soon.

Something has changed, and it’s not just the menu. We did the same reservation we’ve always done and again though we arrived a couple of minutes early we found our table waiting, as usual. Our first clue of the change was the new menu, which is no longer Italian fare, but rather traditional American with just a couple of pasta offerings. Not a problem, but in hindsight it should have been a warning. As we were seated the nice waitress took our drink orders. We had a lovely conversation and someone remarked that the drinks were taking a while, and I checked the time — we’d been at the table for 15 minutes. I offered to go find someone and see if they’d forgotten us when 4 of the 5 drinks arrived, the bar selections only. The member of our party with a soda had to wait a couple more minutes, and received her soda from the bartender while the waitress was taking food orders, at which point she asked for a straw. Ten minutes later, after trying to flag two servers who made eye contact when we waved and then looked at the floor as they walked in another direction she just got up and went to the unattended bar to get her own straw. As time went on we got nervous about the movie we were headed to and started watching the clock. Fully 45 minutes after our arrival and thirty minutes after our drinks came, our food finally arrived. Mostly. The spaghetti was overcooked and pulled apart if you tugged on the noodles, and the pork chop my friend ordered was overcooked and tough. When she said so to the waitress, the waitress’s response was«wow I apologize for that, I’ll tell the cooks to do better. Can I bring you a salad or something?» At one point roughly fifteen minutes after that, after we’d been there for an hour, I gave up on the idea of getting my water refilled or any parmesan cheese for my pasta and just ate. We caught a waiter from another table — the only person in the room with any vigor or life — and he apologized, sent someone over with water, and brought me a little cup of parmesan. When he came back we asked for the check. All told, in the hour and fifteen minutes we were there, our water glasses were attended once, our waitress made a total of three trips to our table(a fourth if you include the time she dropped the check), and the food was lackluster at best. I am really sad to lose this place. I’ll give it another chance — maybe I just caught it on a bad night — but it had none of the life it had when they first opened and the food just wasn’t very good. So that one more chance will be a skeptical one and it won’t take much to scratch this place off my list.

We liked Joe’s as they made fresh pasta. I was never fan of their sauces but the pasta was good and so we’d gone there quite a few times. Our last outing there found out they changed things up. Now more of a «grill» with sandwiches, meatloaf dinners and the like. We ordered but weren’t impressed. Food was Luke warm and nothing special. Not sure if we’ll be going back.

Was excited for this place, and it was kind of a bummer. Nice atmosphere, and the service was good, but the food was definitely lackluster. We ordered a bruschetta appetizer, and every component was icky – bland, soupy hummus; bland, very soupy tomato sauce. We weren’t able to finish it. Entrée-wise, the hubs ordered a chicken sandwich, and reported it was unremarkable, and my pasta was similar – not awful, but not good. Joe’s definitely presents itself as a semi-upscale place, and the menu was promising, but the food was not up to snuff. We won’t be returning.

We stopped here on my husband’s birthday; we decided to go somewhere new. It was early, so we were quickly seated in a nice booth in a nearly empty dining room. The ambience was classy, yet casual. We were very comfortable. The service was great, we received everything super quickly — we figured we lucked out because we were early diners. As we ate, many more people came in. The place became quite lively but it never got so loud that we couldn’t hear each other speak. I ordered sole, which was excellent. My husband ordered steak, which he said was very good. The portions were generous — we couldn’t finish them. My husband ordered a crème brulée for dessert, and they gave it to him for free because it was his birthday. That was a nice surprise. Thank you, Joe’s, for a very pleasant experience!

Tried this place again for Small Business Saturday since we had been wanting to recheck it. We were seated quickly enough in a nice booth. Water was served and followed by some nice sourdough rolls and olive oil/balsamic. I ordered the cheese tortellini with four cheese sauce and DH had the special, a spinach risotto with prawns and basil pesto and mushrooms. For dessert, we attempted the sticky toffee pudding. My dish was ok, basically bland adult Mac & Cheese. Could have used some spices, herbs, bacon, something… I ate half and will doctor the rest up for leftovers at home. The special was … Not good. The risotto was extremely bland and even salt and pepper at the table didn’t help. The prawns were great, but sparse for the dish and price. The spinach was nearly non-existant and there was less than a tablespoon of basil pesto… more may have saved the dish. We were told the desserts are made in house so decided to give them a shot, even though they no longer offer the amazing Italian Wedding Cake. The sticky toffee pudding stood out to us both so we got that. We ate about half, trying to enjoy, but finally had to stop as the salt was overwhelming! We mentioned it to the waitress when she brought the bill and apparently they had put the wrong sauce on it. We were given a choice of the«correct» dessert or removing it from the bill. We removed it. Finally, the price was around $ 40 with everything… We felt this was a bit high for what we got, and for all of this review, I have to give it two stars as we didn’t enjoy the evening and we won’t be returning. Please note, we did have plenty of alcohol choices so their liquor license is in place.

Poor service, barely Ok food(veal was tough & chewy, steak was the same), bare walls, were out of several menu items, water had soda taste, menu hard to read menu(poor font choice). Froze Swordfish, which waiter did not know when asked; he finally got the hint and went and asked the cook. When waiter asked how was it myself and my partner both said OK. He then said«You’ve had better?», very stupid question since we both had basic dishes(veal parmigiana & steak sandwich) and who hasn’t had better than most restaurants? Odd mix of high end and lower end food. Upscale look to menu, put paper table covers. Ok décor & seating, roof top balcony is nice in summer. Good beer and wine selection, at least per the menu; they were out of my first two beer choices. Tue(music some nights) & Friday(salsa dancing) night events. We we went on a Monday night @ 7:30PM. Only one other couple in main dinning area, believe it was empty in back room and on roof top balcony(50 degrees and damp out). Saw one waiter, manager(never came over), and cook.
