Wow, where to start?! $ 10 cover at 2am… wasn’t very happy with that. Most clubs or lounges don’t charge pretty women a cover, let alone at 2am!!! Drinks were $ 12/ea which is ludicrous for the area. Shots are $ 9AND you pay for a chaser. This is Astoria, not the meatpacking district. The crowd was ratchet. The women were dressed rather tacky. I don’t think anyone that actually lives in Astoria goes there.

it’s nice being a girl because we got in free, but our boyfriends had to pay a cover(that is actually really particular in astoria). the drinks were pricey, the ambiance was dark, the music ranged from electric dance music to latina music. time to get your dance on!

This is a nice, scratch that good spot for Monday. Me coming all the way from Brooklyn it wasn’t really worth the trip. It is not that big so you will be bumping shoulders sometimes. The drinks are city priced, 12 bucks for a henny and cranberry and we got a hookah regular that cost 25 bucks. Good chill spot but not worth the trip if you do not live in the area.

I don’t think there’s a place in Astoria that’s changed over more times than what is now Ice Lounge. I’ve been here multiple times and whether you’ve been there now that it’s Ice or before doesn’t really seem to matter. The only thing that changes is the name and whoever the owner is I guess. Ice looks nice but it’s very narrow and quite small. It feels as though the bar takes up half the space in Ice. The drink prices are on par with every other lounge in the area but the hookah is a different story. When I tried to order a hookah it was $ 30, which isn’t unusual because late night many places adjust their prices. However I was really disappointed that they refused to take credit card to pay for it. The specifically said«we don’t take credit card on hookah». Needless to say I extremely annoyed expecially after drinking and not wanting to continue to do so. I can only assume they do this in order to not claim it as income because you have to pay cash. NO other explanation made sense to me.

I came here after an elite event with some peeps from queens. It was alright, I mean we were really looking for something else to do after the Unilocal event so it served a purpose. I liked the drinks I had here, there was some room to dance, not that many people here though it was a monday night after all. Still was okay to check out, It was a mandatory coat check when I came here, it was two or three bucks. Waitstaff here, the women behind the bar serving drinks were kind of attractive, some asian, spanish and all, it was a mix set. DJ was okay, definitely could have mixed it up a bit more and played more reggae and GOOD hip hop.

Random Monday night after a not so spectacular Unilocal event. My Bestest friend and a few new ones, and I are strolling the streets of Astoria looking for a free place to shake our behinds. As we walked down Broadway we spot the nameless location with an irate older gentleman out front and a few Latinas. :sniff sniff: smells like something is a brew! We inquire and the guy tells us in the most gruff voice he could muster that there will be a party tonight. They weren’t open yet. Ladies 10 $ and guys $ 15. «First off are you all 21? ‘Cause if ya not, ya not gettin’ in here!» We assured him we were all old folks and waited to be let in. It was now free for ladies and however much for guys. The space is not that big but not that small either. Nicely lit and clean. Of course no one was really there to dirty it yet but you get me. There are two bathrooms. Both say women’s so men are not allowed to take a piss in this spot.(I’m only joking). The bathrooms are both skeevy and make sure you grab napkins from the bar so you aren’t dripping all down your thigh. Not so fun. Extremely Hispanic. Nothing but Latinas and Latinos in the spot. And me of course. I’m neither. The only Negrita in the building. I held it down for us though. The music was pretty good. Didn’t try any drinks and the people I was with ordered some coronas. I had a sip of water but that was all. The music was decent. Not the perfect mix but for a random free Monday it’ll do. They have hookah which everyone was doing. It kind of looked like a junior high dance. There was no one dancing(except me and S. of course). Everyone was just sitting on the sidelines looking at each other and getting hookah. That’s cool and all BUT we got some strange looks for being so dancey while everyone else was so boring. Ehh. It happens. One girl kept hollerin about mandatory Coat check. I’ll keep my jacket on thanx. «No but you can’t wear your jacket.» I goes with my outfit. I assure you I’m not checking it. She eventually got over it and left us alone about the jackets. Two little half pleather jackets. I be damned I HAVE to check anything. It was a cool enough experience. I’m not running to Astoria to hit this spot up again. If in the area and free sure why not. Maybe I can see how the drinks are next time. Nothing spectacular here though…(At least not this time.)
