Got to the restaurant at 5:00 on a Tuesday. We were the only ones there. Waitress was just okay not very friendly. Chips were served with green sauce not salsa sauce. Didn’t care for the sauce. Ordered a sangria which was just okay. How do you mess up Sangria? Ordered the vegetable and beef Tacos. The beef had no flavor. It was like it was just fried with no seasoning and put in the taco. Ordered the Chicken Fajitas which were soggy and overloaded with peppers. The rice and beans were fair. Most important with our meal we love guacamole. Not here! And the wait to get our food was really long. We didn’t understand why when we were the only ones there! And then the food delivery came!!! Ummm maybe we got the last old stuff. So many other better Mexican restaurants!!!

This place has some of the most authentic and delicious home-made Mexican food in the entire NYC area! I literally dream about the enchiladas verdes and even their chips and salsa is amazing! I highly recommend stopping in or even making a trip out to Astoria to try it! You won’t be disappointed!!!

The worst Mexican food ever. Service was horrible, I thought my tacos came out from microwave, I just one little bite from my taco taste was terrible, service was just disaster. Waitress was so bad and untrained, she don’t even know how to talk with customer. Very bad attitude(for this horrible service and food?) Come on! This is just waste of time. DON’T Even think go to this place. You will be regret. I am sure there are some better Mexican Taquerias or restaurants in the area. ADIOSAMIGOS :)

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2008, when I still lived in the neighborhood. It is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The service is friendly and quick. The salsa is delicious. My go-to dish is the chile rellenos. I crave them! I live in CT now and miss it. I went back last night after over a year and the waitress remembered me. I don’t get to Astoria often. I go for El Mariachi restaurant.

We ordered delivery via seamless and it was great! Guacamole and chips, enchiladas de pollo and al pastor tacos were all delicious especially the al pastor tacos. On par with Taqueria Coatzingo. Delivery arrived quickly and accurately. Would order again.

This place is definitely understaffed. We were here for dinner. The place were somewhat busy. Our waitress did a fantastic job. She was only the only waitress in the restaurant. Even though the place was busy, she still managed to keep our glass filled with water, never empty. They need to hire an extra waitress. We felt bad for her running around. As for the food, we got the lengua tacos, the vegetable taco, the cubana torta. The food took forever to come out. The cubana torta were pretty good. Flavorful! The vegetable taco were also pretty good. If we never ordered the lengua taco, we probably would’ve given a 4 stars rating. Minus one star because of the lengua taco. We definitely had better elsewhere. The meat is bland, not enough flavor. Portion wise, it’s good. We can’t complain on that. If you happen to be in the area, this place is probably still worth stopping by. Overall, this place is decent.

They have the best flan in the city. Also recommend the nachos with a meet topping — it’s HUGE! Everything is very on point.

Walked in to get a chicken torta to go and had my worst experience with any restaurant so far. The waitress was awfully rude, she igonered me a couple of times(even though I was right in front of her). The place was busy that night and they had a small staff(only 1 waitress). Waited for 14 minutes while she went back and forth between the tables and the cashier. I politely asked her if I could please place an order to go and she immediately replied to me in an angry tone«I’m busy can’t you see, you’re going to have to wait». After this rude reply an older man came to the cash register he was also rude, he literally asked me in Spanish«what do you want». If this is not rude service, I don’t know what is! I don’t like to give small restaurants bad reviews myself but I just had to for this place. On a side note most of the positive reviews seem fake(you can buy them, just like any other services). Be warned of this place.

AMAZING. Came here for cinco de Mayo and had tacos and tostadas — everything was delicious, and margarita was PERFECT. Will be coming here more often! Service was exceptional — all of the waitresses work really hard!

I’ve been going to this place for the past ten years. I mean this is one of the best places to get decent Mexican food. They are way better than all the Mexican food carts propping up around the neighborhood. Here are the key points — Large portions and reasonably priced — Open super late(you can eat at 1am) — Excellent Tortas and Burritos — My favorite torta is the al pastor which has avocado, pineapple, spicy pork, mayo, beans, cheese and a side of jalapenos(all for 7 bucks). — They now have a liquor license. Not a great bar but the food is awesome and that is what they focus on. They have decent margaritas and reasonably priced beer. This is a great local business in the Astoria neighborhood. If you’ve never been there, I recommend coming out in a large group and supporting the business. It’s not hipster or pretentious and the food there does the talking.

Stumbled upon this gem by accident, it was so worth the discovery. Variety of authentic and yummy tacos served with guacamole, cilantro and radish. Order with a cerveza, some refried beans and rice. Meanwhile, chips and salsa are delivered to your table free of charge. As authentic for Mexican that you will find in Astoria. Try the al pastor and carne asada tacos… you won’t be diappointed.

There’s really nothing particularly mind blowing about this restaurant, yet somehow my body always wants it. Not just anything on the menu, but the burrito and the«mixto» option to be exact! I’ve sat down to eat before, but I’m more or less a takeout kinda gal. One of the perks of dining in is their salsa and chips right when you are seated. They are generous with their refills and have a good variety of sauces to dip. Nothing is particularly super spicy if you’re a spicy fanatic like myself(sriracha is a lot more spicy in comparison), but their range of sauces all has their own unique taste from tangy to smokey. I usually order takeout and stick to my mixto burrito which I couldn’t find on their online menu. As you can tell from the name«mixto», it’s a mix of three different meats. I really have a hard time deciding what type of meat I want, so this is a great option for those that are indecisive and want the best of all worlds. The burritos are HUGE and comes with a side of guacamole! It usually takes me about two meals to finish the entire burrito and I never eat the shell. One downside is how salty the meats are. I usually do not notice it because it’s mixed in with the rice, but on it’s own you can really taste it. I am a huge fan of this establishments $ 13 burrito for lord knows what reasons; it just kicks it out of the ball park for me. I should mention, this is the only burrito I would ever eat and would ever order because I am not a fan of burritos.

Wish I could not give them any stars. Came here with three friends and ordered; steak with onions, chicken and(horde of) onions, chicken fajitas, chicken enchilada. We debated which was worst– the *edit: it was actually shrimp but to all appearances was chicken* chicken enchilada was and looked like they vomited in the sauce. The dishes with onions had plentiful rings of(boiled?) onions and the meat looked as though it was microwaved. My dish, the chicken fajitas, started out prospectively sizzling appropriately. But stopped after a minute and was a similar pool of sauce and boiled vegetables. The meat tasted off. I have never had a bad chicken dish before this. Do not go here, if it were dirt cheap and you were drunk– maybe– but regular priced? Why would you do that do yourself? Worst restaurant I have EVER been to.

I was famished by the time I got to Jackson Heights to meet my friend. My dear friend took me here. Absolutely delicious enchiladas suizas and you get four! FOUR! You also get the obligatory chips and salsa although the salsa was kinda watery and not spicy at all but whatever. Those enchiladas suizas were fantastic and plentiful. Two thumbs up!
