I was looking for a date spot on Saturday night and the reviews for this place seemed appropriate, a nice intimate wine bar. However, I got there and the music was way too loud, I couldn’t even hear my date speak and it’s a bit over priced(but I guess that’s the norm for LIC now). I’m sure this place is a good date spot during the week, but definitely not on the weekend.

This intimate little French wine bar is my favorite place in LIC for romantic dates with my husband. Bartenders with French accents. Appealing small plates, like cheese, olives and oysters. German Hofbrau on tap. Usually I like to try new places, but this is a place we come back to.

The jazz band on Thursdays is unreal. Menu is slightly expensive and doesn’t offer much more than cheese and bread but the quality is fantastic so its pretty well worth it. Definitiley worth checking out, great neighborhood spot!

After seeing all of these 4 and 5 star reviews, I was questioning myself if this was the place I was actually at last night. My gf and I were looking for something a little different, and decided to give the place a try. First she asked the bartender if they make mixed drinks and he answers curtly, it depends. Can you make an apple martini? No, curtly again. OK? Now would be the time to offer a suggestion, but he just walked away. I looked at the menu to see what Bourbons they had, I normally drink Makers Mark, but the price was $ 17??? Now I know LIC is trying to be and think of itself as an extension of Manhattan, but it is not, sorry. So she ends up ordering a red wine and I ordered a Jim Bean and I figured we would have 1 drink and go somewhere else. Opps– we are out of Jim Beam– fine give me a double of Evan Williams. So for 2 drinks with tip I just spent $ 37. As we were leaving, it was then that I noticed on a scrap of paper on an empty table with the wine and oyster special, again the bartender could have tried to inform us of this. Obviously he was more interested in drinking at the other end of the bar with another bartender. So we left, walked across the street to a french restaurant that we had been to before, had an amazing dinner, with drinks all for $ 53.

I love Domaine Wine Bar! LIC is lucky to have a place like this in its community! Came here to celebrate a friends birthday &the staff totally accommodated t all our needs. We were lucky enough to come here on a night in which live music was playing and was treated to a jazz band which made the experience all the more enjoyable! With many different wines to choose from i had no idea to get and received a great recommendation by the server based on what i liked best … reds! It can get a little cramped inside as the place is a little small but that just adds to the coziness & appeal. FYI — AMEX& cash is the only accepted currency!

This place no longer does standalone $ 1 oysters. You now get 6 oysters and a glass of wine for $ 12. Not the end of the world, but I would prefer the original special. Also, the oysters have been small and not well cleaned. By the time you pull it from it’s shell, there’s nothing there. Service is alright, they need to smile a bit more.

Came here for drinks on a Friday night and really enjoyed the atmosphere, music and overall feel. Really cozy and intimate space with dim lighting, perfect for a date. There is a small bar to sit at as well as tables with chairs. We didn’t eat anything but I would definitely return to eat sometime. I highly recommend as a good date spot.

I went on a Sunday for the oyster happy hour(½ dozen bluepoint comes with glass of red/white wine or beer.) Although, I was given a generous amount of white wine, I was only offered Pino Grigio. The oysters were fresh but inside them I found a few fragments of the shell and bigger pieces of gravel.

This wine bar is a great place to go to post dinner or on a date. The space is dark, cozy and intimate. The charcuterie plate was okay and the cheeses(we had the comte and brillat savarin) were good. The wine list wasn’t overwhelming at all and the prices weren’t bad either. The bartender was attentive, nice and knowledgeable.

Small and Intimate wine bar. Service was attentive. The cheese selection were delicious however the wine menu is not so extensive for a wine bar. Overall not a bad place to come with friends or a date.

This place is cozy and romantic. It’s much quieter than my usual spot and also the selection for wine are limited. Nevertheless, it’s a great spot to relax and chit chat with friends or bring a date.

This place has amazing HUGE oysters! They’re not shucked very well but they’re very meaty! The cheese platter and prosciutto platter was so delicious with they’re fresh baguette!!! The place is intimate and nice. It wasn’t as clean as I thought it would be. The server/bartender was very attentive and have great suggestions of cheese and wine to get!

I have an obsession with wine bars and this one didn’t disappoint. I had a dinner party a few blocks away so I decided to check this place beforehand. The bartender was nice and very knowledgeable of the wines. The place was very cozy and great place for a date or an intimate gathering. FYI they take credit cards but only Amex.

The sign outside just says«Wine Bar» without a name. Maybe my friend and I missed something, but that got us curious, so we went inside. I’m sure glad he asked me to go with him. After I sat down, my first reaction was«EARTHQUAKE!» but it was actually just the subway… there goes my excuse for running out before paying the bill… I love alcoholic beverages of all types but hate to have to pay exorbitant prices for them. Unlike many wine bars in Manhattan, this place offers high quality generous pours and a knowledgeable bartender for reasonable prices. At one point, I was about to get up to leave(old men need to get home to bed for work on Friday mornings) but my friend ordered another glass and the bartender poured a «shot» of wine in my glass. He continued to do that for an hour every time my glass was empty… lol…but it was a good move on his part because that made my other friends order more drinks =). Décor: this place was so loud that we were able to have conversations on intense topics in Cantonese without anyone else hearing us. It was also very dark inside –almost to the point where an old guy like me wasn’t able to read the menu. I mean, I have a flashlight and every smartphone can act as a flashlight but… I guess it’s «romantic.»

Albeit a little loud, a wonderful little wine bar with a fantastic selection of delicious wines and a snarky, but really fun, bartender that makes for a really cool low-key date spot. I found plenty of seating on a late Friday night and settled down with a wonderful glass of Cotes de Castillon. I hadn’t heard of it before and asked the bartender what he thought of it. He looked at me and asked, «Do you like good wine?» «Yes, of course.» «Then you’ll love this,» he walked off muttering, «As if I would serve terrible wine.» I loved his tongue-in-cheek act of being a snooty French bartender(he’s really Romanian). I went to use the restroom and when I returned, I found a glass with a small pour of the mentioned wine in it. As I sipped it, he graciously asked what I thought of it. When I expressed my approval, he gave me a generous pour and explained the wine and its region to me. Come here if you have a sense of humor and want to get schooled(in wine).
