Seriously? The fish is Gortons if not some other frozen brand and the rest of the seafood is well… just your run of the mill
Low quality frozen seafood. Bleh! The one thing that deserves at least three stars is their HUSHPUPPIES. Whatever brand they use is good. But other than that the malt vinegar tasted watered down and don’t understand how this place got a Brits approval! Shame! Seriously! I’m not British but have had better from traditional fish and chip shops both overseas and the continental US and I’m sorry to say that Captain D’s/Long Jonn Silvers has better fish than this place!
Just dawned on me that this place is next to a university and a bar! So perhaps the taste and expectations of its usual patrons are low Either way… still bleh.

Fish and chips were tasty and not to greasy! I would recommend this place. The workers were very nice and accommodating.

The best fish and chip place in Long Beach. Simple food at a good price. This place does a lot of business during Lent. It is best to call your order in to pick up-​otherwise it is a bit of a wait. If you have to wait? It is worth it!

Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips.
If any of you grew up back east you may remember this chain — sort of a McDonald’s of fish & chips. The fish & chips was decent.
Well the food here really reminded me of Arthur Treacher’s. Reasonable prices and decent quality.
The actor Arthur you may have seen as the constable in Mary Poppins…

Really terrific food, and inexpensive. Fish deep-​fried in peanut oil. They have a lunch special that includes two pieces of fish, fries, zuccini (which can be substituted with some very nice onion rings), and cole slaw. Great meal! Bar next door doesn’t bother me at all. And the donut shop at the end is really great too. It’s a very popular shopping center, apparently, so there’s not much parking at busy times.

Very nice people working here, the food is good and not overly greasy. It’s an easy option for a meal and inexpensive.

this lil gem right here has good seafood. we ordered the popcorn shrimp and also fish (sans chips) and it’s heavenly. the sauces are a good amount (and I eat a lot of sauce in general so That’s a plus). the quality is good and the staff is friendly. I live right down the street and I’ve only come here a couple times and I’m not sure why.

Went here for lunch and it was delicious! Boyfriend & I split the shrimp po’boy and a fish & shrimp platter with chips (combo 2). The Po’boy was great! The shrimp were cooked well, the coleslaw was fresh & not too drippy, and the baguette was perfect — light & chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fried fish was tender but not too soft and the batter was delicious. Speaking of batter, the batter on the shrimp on the combo platter was perfect too, cooked just right and tasty, more like funnel cake batter than bread crumbs (not sweet though). The chips were crispy and seasoned, but not overly-​done. All that food plus a soda for less than $ 16! We will definitely be back for more!

We come here quite often, and for good reason. It’s a small place but cozy. Fish and shrimp are delicious and the fries are crispy. Fast service and great price. Looking forward to trying other menu items.

Fish tacos are second to none. The pico de gallo and dressing they put on top of the fish is the perfect compliment to the breaded fish and corn tortillas. Can’t beat the price, either. For my money, they’re a way better deal than fish tacos from someplace like Baja Fresh or Rubio’s.
I also like the Seafood Combination (a little of everything), but it’s pricey.

Had their daily special which consists of 2 fish, 2 zucchini, chips, and coleslaw. It was well worth the price, and the food was quite delicious. Their fries were ok, but maybe because i took it home too eat. All in all I would come back if I crave fish and chips again.
Parking is small, but you can park on the streets and walk.

Shrimp Po’boy special for 5.99 is seriously too good of a deal. I dream about that sandwich. Not horribly greasy like battered shrimp at most f&c places. Their cole slaw is fresh and isn’t drenched in too much mayo, baguettes are chewy, tartar sauce is delicious and fries are crispy. Parking lot is too small and crowded. The restaurant itself is really small but clean.

We tried this place for the first time based on the reviews.
It is in a strip mall and parking was limited. We had to take the food to go because there was nowhere to sit unless you had only two people. The décor was super outdated.
The service was pretty good. The young guy at the counter was very nice and friendly.

I thought the fish and zucchini were pretty good. The cole slaw tasted pretty good too. The fries were ok but tasted like frozen.
My son did not like the fish and said it smelled like old feet.
And like another poster said… there were lots of bar flies going outside smoking. I don’t know about you, but me or my family do not like having to walking through smoke to get into a restaurant.

Frozen sea food coated with a bland batter and deep fried to order. It looks like this used to be a H. Salt in its better days. Priced reasonably, you do get your meal served hot out of the fryer in about 7 minutes after you order. I had shrimp & fish and thought it was bland and a little too oily. My wife ordered fish & zucchini and did not eat her zucchini or finish her fish because it was too oily. Our visit was also marred by the bar flies from the bar next door who were outside on a smoke break from their drinking. I would only go back if they started using fresh fish and a different batter.

Happy service, good affordable food. Great people. You really can’t ask for more especially on a college budget.
I usually get the 2 fish and chips or go 3 when I’m really hungry.
If you have a big stomach though there are other places if you just wanna be full.
But if you want yummy and warm you can never go wrong with Fish and Chips.

The fish and chips here are amazing and inexpensive. Also, once they made a mistake on my order, but they promptly re-​made all of the food fresh to make sure it was nice and hot.

Another Brit here confirming that this is as close to British F&C as you can get. Crispy batter and firm /​flaky fish. Fully recommend going here. Very clean too which is unusual amongst other restaurants we have been — well done to this take away /​restaurant. Owners genuinely friendly too: D which makes it a delight

Let’s start off with this review with a HIGH recommendation. Right off the bat when my wife and I walked into their establishment they were welcoming and showed interest in providing good customer service.
They offer numerous selection when it comes to what to order, we went with their daily special fish/​fries/​deep fried zucchini. Definitely was bang for your buck.
Then we tried their calamari as well and that was satisfying. We don’t live in Long Beach, but if we’re in town again, we definitely would come back here.
The quality of the food was satifiying as well. Once the food arrived at our table, they bring all items you need, from napkins to sauces to straws. You wait at your seat while your food is prepared fresh for you.
A mixture of great prices and great quality food definitely had us in food happiness.
The only limit issue with this location though that we found was parking. They have their own plaza parking lot, and a little amount of street parking. So good luck when coming here when it comes to finding parking. Once you snag your spot, you’re good to go.
