This was the first time that we’ve been at this restaurant. The salsa was very good as well as our dinner. The margaritas were not very good at all! I would definitely come back to this restaurant. The waitress that we had was excellent and very pleasant.

I found this Mexican restaurant on Unilocal.I wanted to add it to my list of find the best tacos in Long Beach. I ordered 3 tacos and a side of guacamole. It was around $ 12 for everything which I thought was pretty high but when I tasted the food I was fine with it. My favorite taco was the al pastor. I highly recommend it! The salsa they put on the tacos is super hot, ask for it on the side if you don’t like hot sauce.

The service was fantastic. The chips and salsa was good with just the right amout of spice. The tall fresh pineapple juice was good andv refreshing. I decided to go for carna sada taco with beans and a Spanish rice. The rice and beans super fresh. The tacos were not bad but I have had better.

Love this place. I had them cater my super bowl party and everyone loved the food. I ordered molcajetes to feed about 25 people and they provided everything! The food was ready for pick up on time and they gave me more than enough of the fixings, guacamole, salsa, tortillas, sour cream etc. They even provided the chips and salsa without me asking. This is my new favorite Mexican spot in Long Beach.

I absolutely LOVE this place. For starters, the service is great everytime I come. The waitresses are all so welcoming and check up on you to see how you’re doing or need anything else. The food is so good! The shrimp ceviche is great, The fajitas have great taste, and tacos are 1 $ on Tuesdays. Prices are great as well, I recommend checking this place out for great Mexican food & wonderful service.

Avoid long lines at Los compadres, the taste is incomparable. Gotta say every time I’m in long beach and I crave some great Mexican food, I choose this place. Try it, you have something to gain.

Unilocalers — say what? Our other choice Mexican restaurants were closed or too busy so we consulted Unilocal and saw that Canadas had decent ratings — and we are always up for trying something new! First comment is that the fluorescent lighting was so overwhelming that I felt like I was in a cafeteria. Wasn’t the best ambiance overall — I ordered a combo with a potato taco and a cheese enchilada(I know, I’m boring…) the beans and rice were fabulous but oh my god the cheese in the enchilada wasn’t even close to melted! What the heck? That’s pretty much my biggest pet peeve when it comes to eating out. You have to melt the cheese in the enchilada!!! Since the service was lacking, I had to take the plate up to the counter myself to ask if they could pop it in the oven or whatever… It was just a disappointing experience… don’t plan on going back… Going to stick to our old faithfuls in the area.

I have been waiting for a place that reminds me of the amazing street food we got in NYC! This is it. So good. The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is the space… Ya’ll need a bigger location. It was like a sardine in there… kind of a good problem to have, but maybe it is time to expand…

I’ve only tried their Coctel de Camaron which is soooo good and they’re not greedy when it comes to the amount of shrimp they give.

Came here spur of the moment. And I must say it was a pretty good decision. The restaurant is a small mom and pop type set up. Ordered the shrimp and fish ceviche, shrimp torta, And tostada especial(grilled seafood) SHRIMPANDFISHCEVICHE– was really good. Decent portion, but they only gave us two thin slices of avocado with the ceviche. I didn’t like how they put a tostada at the bottom of the ceviche. By the time we knew it was there it was all soggy and gross. 4 stars*** TOSTADAESPECIAL– wasnt bad went with the grilled version since I already had the ceviche. The seafood that came on top of the tostada was imitation crab, octopus, and shrimp. Pretty flavorful and good portions 3 ½ stars**** SHRIMPTORTA– never had a shrimp torta before but my friend swore by it. Was a decent size torta with lots of flavor and veggies but they skimped on the shrimp. 4 stars**** They give complementary CHIPSANDSALSA to every table. Salsa is more on the chunky side, spicy, and good. Chips were warm and fresh and not a single on was stale. 4 stars**** Service was great and attentive our waters never passed half way. Our salsa and chips were promptly refilled. Parking is located in the plaza parking lot and is free of charge. Plenty of spots especially if you come later when other stores are closed. Wouldn’t mind stopping by again to try other items if I’m in the area.

I know of some other great places in Long Beach for tacos, but this place is always a great go-to place. The service and food is great! I don’t think I ever had a bad experience here! Their prices have changed, but their food is still great! Their horchata and tacos are good! I always get carne asada and lengua. Their taco de lengua is definitely tender, but lacks a bit of flavor and that’s when their sauce comes in handy(I always ask for it on the side, b/c it gets really spicy every now and then). The complimentary chips and salsa’s always good to have as well, but be careful because you can easily get full from it!

We came to try the menudo, which was a bit disappointing. The piña juice seemed watered down and looked questionably neon yellow. The horchata was good and the chips tasted freshly made. I got the huevos rancheros; plated nicely with guacamole and sour cream, but it was doused in salty salsa. The menudo only had the intestines; it was missing hominy and it was on the salty side as well. The server was attentive except after we got our food & my friend wanted more limes for the menudo. The michelada was prepared well and served in schooners though! There are plenty better places to go for Mexican food so I may not be back for a long while.

Great food usually! Ordered Pazole has pigs feet and shanks in it. Smelled like it was going bad, tasted unlike anything I have ever been served. So bad had to send back for fajitas. One can only assume that soup was bad. It smelled horrible like sour stink and tasted worse than it smelled. Recovered with an order of fajitas. Check what you serve. what we had should of never if left the kitchen.

Service was excellent. The waitress are very attentive, she did come more times then needed but who can complain on extra service versus not having service at all. I had my horchata refilled and my salsa with chips. The complimentary salsa is really good and so is their food. I ordered a Quesadilla combo which was very flavorful. I personally would go with the chicken next time, since I rarely eat pork. This time was the exception but i could definitely taste the pork but it was still good. The portion was more than enough to satisfy my hunger(especially after eating too many chips and salsa) and my boyfriend had the Molcajete. It was a lot of meat but I was a bit upset that no tortillas came with it. Thankfully he didn’t mind and ate the whole thing. Overall this place has the best quesadilla I have had and looking forward to hitting this place again for some delicious food.

Our go-to spot for Mexican comfort food! Service: The best part is that everything is consistent. The waitresses are always very friendly and attentive! Ambience: The most impressive Mexican food in this price range is usually in a grungy hole in the wall, but this place is always clean and has a nice neighborhood diner feel to it. Food: There isn’t one thing on the menu that isn’t absolutely delicious! Breakfast, lunch, or dinner; you won’t regret coming here! –I love their coffee in the morning! –I am addicted to their Carne en su Jugo! If you’re super hungry, in the mood for something hearty, or it’s that time of the month; you need to try their take on this dish! –Their Micheladas are also on point!

Love this place. Reasonable prices and delicious food. If the salsa and chips are great from the start, usually the food is in line. That is the case here. The chips are fresh the salsa has a good kick and the shrimp burrito is the best I’ve had ever. My sampling of shrimp burritos is mostly from Long Beach, but it’s really freaking good.

Canada’s grills knows Torta Ahogada. The famous drowned sandwich from Jalisco. Your experience starts with chips and to house salsa. House salsa is medium spicy, with little bits of cabbage and green onions along with lots of cilantro, red onions, tomatoes and chiles. All tasting very fresh. The Torta itself was comprised of a toasted sourdough roll, scooped out slightly, some frijoles, just a little. Then excellent carnitas. The whole thing is then slathered thoroughly in a tomato sauce, and then with an extremely wicked chile de Arbol sauce that will cause discomfort and make you question your choice, however don’t worry, this sauce is very tasty, many layers of flavor, that soon fade into sweat beads on your head leaving you awash in a rush of endorphins as your mouth reels from the pain. Also it’s garnished with some nicely done pickled onions, with Flavors of vinegar and oregano. Highly recommended to anyone who is a fan of this dish, you will not soon forget it. Don’t forget to have a large drink in front of you before you begin, preferably a big cold beer or a Jamaica.

Found a hair in our horchata drink :(. At the very end when we drank it all. Eeks… That was a disappointment. Also molcajete this time was really too spicy for us. We were tearing up at the end. The waitress said sometimes the salsa is spicier on some days than others. I guess it’s not that consistent… Sigh… Service was also kind of slow.
