Del Taco

First time customer, and this place had me wishing we had Del Taco in Indianapolis. Great and friendly service, and the food was great.

I’d like to eat here, but this is by far the slowest «fast food» restaurant I’ve ever been to. Been stuck in the drive through for 20 minutes before giving up multiple times now.

Horrible quality. When it first opened everything was fresh. I’m just now recovering from food poisoning that I must have gotten from here. Don’t recommend.

Pleasantly surprised! My husband has been raving about Del Taco for quite some time but I always poo-poo’d it because I tried Taco Bell several years ago and had little desire to have it ever again and I thought Del Taco would be the same. But, I switched to a plant-​based diet a few months ago and I needed a few extra choices available via drive-​through. Well, the 8 layer veggie burrito (minus: cheese, rice, sour cream) and fries are absolutely delicious! The customer service reps always get my detailed order correct and they are friendly and pleasant while doing so. This location is super convenient too as it is close to the highway.

Real greasy and not appealing to me in the least. And the person that took my order was rude. I only ate here because we were visiting relatives in Livonia and they said it was good. Yeah, they don’t know much.

I know it may sound absurd to give a fast food joint five stars, but I seriously love Del taco. Even when I’m dead tired after a 12 hour night shift, I am willing to make the 20 minute drive out of my way to go get some chicken soft tacos, bean and cheese burritos, and chili cheese fries… Oh the chili cheese crinkle cut fries! Del taco is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. It’s the only place I can satisfy my hearty food cravings at 7 AM in the morning. It’s probably a good thing that there isn’t one right next to my house, or else I’d probably be there daily.

Oh Del, the only thing that could make you better is if you opened closer to work and home!
I was at my new favorite Meijer across the way and dropped in here to pickup some drive thru for lunch. A Spicy Jack quesadilla, two Grilled Chicken tacos and two Del tacos with the works.
The quesadilla was actually a little spicy… nice work on surprising me with some actual heat Del. I will say that the Bell does make a nice quesadilla. Del could probably fill them a little fuller but no foul.
Their Grilled Chicken tacos were phenomenal. Actual grilled chicken with a mayo sauce and some other fixins… so much better than the Bell’s. Their regular tacos blew me away though. I’ve never had a fast food taco that was SO LOADED with meat and cheese! They were huge and they tasted fresh and they were perfect! One last note of praise… their hot sauce is actually hot. I love that! Bland taco sauce is the worst.

I’ve been to this location twice now and I got to say what is up? The quality of the food doesn’t even taste like Del taco. I don’t get it.
I’ve had my fair share of Del taco in Cali, they’re on just about every corner. Were talking main staple and the food taste very different. It’s good and also way cheaper there. The menu is slightly different but the quality is a whole other ballgame.
I’ve also ate at the Dearborne Heights, location at Ford and Telegraph. That location is also much pricier, but more in line with taste as the west coast locations.
Today at my visit I ordered two chicken soft tacos and a pinto and cheese. The chicken taco was rubbery and had an odd taste. The beans were also not good, hardly no chesse on any of the food. The cheese Del taco, uses; freshly grated has always been one of my reasons for being such a Del taco, fan.
I don’t know what’s up with the Livonia, location but something is definitely amiss. I gave them a second chance but there won’t be a third. Which is to bad being that there are only a few stores in the metro area. I guess I will have to take a vacation to get the real deal Del taco: (

No! I got gastroenteritis from this joint. Gross. The bean burrito is terrible, mushy and inedible at best. Looked disgusting too. My girlfriend said her taco was edible, but she wasn’t like, «wow.» I thought the staff was a little rude and snippy, but that is my opinion of a lot of places in this area, so maybe it comes with the territory or it’s in the water. Anyway, it took a long time to get our food and that seems unreasonable because this is Del Taco, not a restaurant with a Michelin rated star chef.

We need more of these in the metro area.
The tacos are tasty. And they don’t seem to give me «problems» like Taco Bell does… I’f you know what I mean, and I think you do.

This place is nasty when it comes to food preparation. The shake machine is usually moldy and adding water to dried food that is past the hold time is a common practice here! This franchise is not a true representation of what a Del Taco should be. Eat at your own risk! I have pictures of mold in iced tea and others but this site wouldn’t let me upload them.

I was pleasantly surprised when i tried Del Taco for the first time, it was the closest thing to real mexican flavor I have had since moving back from Mexico and the price is great. Wish there was one closer to my house.

On my return to the Livonia Del Taco, I was taken by the half pound Bean Burrito crave. A good Bean Burrito has always been one of my favorites at a fast food Taco place and these were no exception. The inside of Del Taco is very clean and the booths very generous with extra hot sauce in a basket. The employees were friendly, helpful and patient as I perused the many selections on the overhead menu. I went with a couple of Bean Burritos and was very happy with the result. Thanks Del Taco, 4 stars this time and I’ll be back…

Disclosure, I was invited here as a blogger to taste their new salads. I went here today with my parents.
The closest Del Taco to me is the Clawson one (which is like a 5 to 10 minute drive) so this was a bit of a drive for me, about 35 – 40 minutes. However, I was highly impressed with this one vs. the Clawson one — it seems like this one is newer (opened about 10 months ago?) and I know it has a different owner than the Clawson one. As a result, it had a more modern look, and it was definitely more comfortable too.
I tried the new Mexican chopped chicken salad, and I liked it. The chicken is the same ones used in the tacos (I usually get a chicken or turkey taco when I go to the Clawson location) and it was topped with pico de gallo which gave it a bit of spice. My mom ordered the same one as me, and my dad tried the Taco salad, with beef — you can choose turkey as a topper too instead, if you like.
That would have been decently healthy but I HAD to have the cheesecake bites for dessert, they are always phenomenal … yum. My stomach hates me when I have dairy but these are worth it :) I somehow managed to stop myself after eating only one but we ordered a 4-​pack since there three of us. (my mom was definitely NOT unhappy about ‘having’ to eat the extra one … just sayin’).
I’d come back to this location when in the area, the staff was very friendly too. I think it’s the closest location to my parents’ place (Novi area) as well.

25 years ago I really liked Del Taco in Cali when I was in the military and wanted to eat large portions of okay to pretty good fast food.
This did not live up to my old experiences. Slow and rude staff, out of sausage.
You know, mostly the staff. They ruined a stop for me, and I don’t think I will be back.
ETA: The marketing boss emailed the same morning and wanted details to correct the issues. I gave them, and she offered to mail a gift card to retry the location. I will update after I get the card and I am in the area there.
Update: Having interacted with me twice to get details and offering to send a card so that I could retry the place, Del Taco failed to follow thru. I didn’t want a gift card, but was offered one and was told it was coming. I would bear in mind that not only do they provide poor service at their location, the upper management also makes promises and fails to live up to them.

Yes, it’s fast food. That being said, it’s good. Got their macho nachos (the employee recommended chicken) so I went with it. I’ve never had a piece of chicken so moist from a competitor of theirs… Ever. Their sauces are also good. Inferno and scorcho (hot and medium sauces). They have a basket of all of the sauces on each table. Today, all baskets were filled that I saw. I also ordered a regular taco. Could have just ordered the macho it was filling enough, but because of this review, I had to try the taco. It was actually filled. Meet, lettuce and cheese. You could see all three. I’ll end my review with this: taco who? While del taco is 4 miles further than that other place, I’ll drive the additional miles.

This is hands down the best Del Taco I’ve ever been to. The Tacos were made perfectly; when I ate them, not one piece fell off. All of the ingredients tasted very fresh. I can’t speak about their food enough.
The employee were friendly, and are generous with the sauce. I was actually given enough to enjoy my meal.
I was craving Del Taco for some reason, and this Del Taco definitely satisfied that craving. Can’t wait to come back!

I was having a snickers moment and the nearest, fast place was del taco– I’m not one for fast food, but Taco Bell has always been my junk food place — especially after a late night out– LOL For fast food, Americanized taco/​mexican food — like this BETTER than Taco Bell. We ordered 2 tacos– one hard/​one soft and macho nacho beef–
My tacos looked like tacos– meaning they were actually filled with good ratio of beef, lettuce, cheese (tomatoes were thrown in too) and there actually was cheese on the taco– not a sprinkle of 5 – 6 — the beef wasn’t overly salty. They were perfect tacos.
The nachos were yummy too biiiig portion and again ratio of toppings to chips perfect. They even had jalapeño peppers… Next time I’ll do a side by side of TB VS DT. There is a difference in taste and visual appearance.

Two stars for the food, zero stars for the horrible customer service. The drive thru line was really long, but instead of getting an apology for the long wait, I got a rude, uncaring worker that could care less about customers and their time.
I ordered 3 tacos, got no sauce and the food was just «okay».
Customer service goes a long way, they should teach that to their employee.

I don’t quite understand the hype about this fast food restaurant.
I love a good taco and drove to Livonia to see what the excitement was about. I should have just stayed in Canton.
I will say the amount of food you get is quite substantial. In addition, the ingredients to appear to be fresher than if you were to go to Taco Bell (I’m not quite sure if that is a fair comparison). But the taste was boring. I felt like I was back in elementary school and it was taco Tuesday.
I ended up getting a taco and the nacho platter. The meat on the taco and in the nacho’s were barely seasoned. The cheese sauce had hardly any taste to it. The only saving grace to the nachos were the few jalapeño’s thrown on top.
I will say they have a nice variety of options. Fish tacos, turkey tacos, nachos, quesadillas, chips and salsa, etc.
Maybe it was just an off day, but I didn’t care for it. I doubt I will be back.
