Wow! I imagine the hardest part of their job is trying to keep the meat on the bone once they are cutting the ribs. Moist, hot and so soft, these ribs were perfect. The staff was so kind and accommodating and helped get me everything I needed and had a great sense of humour. I had the rib plate with potato salad and beans with a side of greens to go. Check it out

Best barbecue I have found in Little Rock. Mustard –based sauce is wonderful. Sides delicious too. I have eaten ribs, chopped pork and chicken. Greens??? WONDERFUL!!! I take extra home for freezer. Also great place for takeout for a few or a crowd!!! Atmosphere not as good, but who cares when you go for the food! Wonderful find!!!

Best ribs I ever had. Nothing fancy — plastic plates and bombers of Bud. Great tangy sauce, smoke to the middle and falling off the bone.

My first time here. They don’t have a multi-meat dinner, so I went with the ribs, with potato salad and beans. The sides were good, about what I’d expect from a BBQ place. The ribs were pretty good. There was enough to enjoy, and they came swimming in a very good sweet and tangy juicy sauce. Normally, I judge a rib by whether I need to dip it in sauce, and if so, then I like to add my own. However, this sauce really complimented the ribs. My only complaints are that they were small flat end of the ribs, and I had to work a little to get the meat out of the spare portion. But I was able to get just about all of it, and the meat was nice and tender, with a little smokiness, but not enough to make me concentrate on the smokiness. I will likely be back.

Great barbeque! Stopped on way thru Little Rock going to Dallas with the help of Unilocal. Was not disappointed. Unusual mustard based barbeque sauce this far West we thought but found it exceptionally tasty. We tried the pork but would like to return to try the ribs. The BBQ beans were very well seasoned and the slaw was good. Prices were very reasonable we thought.

Loved it! Stopped while traveling and totally tired of junk food. I had sliced beef dinner with potato salad and baked beans. Husband had rib dinner with greens and slaw. Everything was great. The people were super nice and the meal was very affordable.

My husband and I were passing through Little Rock on our way to Tennessee and didn’t want any fast food. We stopped at Sims and left a mound of napkins on the table(due to the yummy BBQ sauce), with full bellies, and satisfied customers! We had the chopped beef sandwiches which had no fat and were full of flavor. For sides we had greens, beans, fries and potato salad… all were amazing but the greens and potato salad were above and beyond great! I am not a Pepsi person and they allowed me to bring in my coca cola, and the lady at the counter, who we think is the owner, gave us a free sample of the pork ribs which were mouth-watering good. They literally fell off the bone! We were so satisfied that we are coming back on Monday on our way home!

Great service and food. We stopped by Little Rock for lunch on our way to Texas and found good reviews for this place. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and the interior the same way but that doesn’t matter. We ordered a chopped beef sandwich and a sliced beef sandwich. It was a lunch combo that came with chips and a drink at a really good price. The food was delicious and we could really taste the smokiness. It was too messy to eat as a normal sandwich so it was a fork and knife job. The food was good as is but they had a spicy barbecue sauce that added some extra zing if needed. Overall I would definitely come back when we pass through again.

Pretty good BBQ. I had the sliced beef, and my wife had the chopped pork, it was hard to decide which was better. Their BBQ sauce is pretty spicy, well, at least the stuff they put on the table. The baked beans are the best side, and we tried the slaw and the potato salad, those were also good.

Five stars for food Otherwise quite a dive but I imagine that’s why the food is good. No pretense here just making food right. Take out and catering also available. They have been here since 1937 so obviously they are doing something right.

We finally gave this place a try on the recommendation of friends. The menu confused both my husband and me, and the explanation our server gave did little to clear up the fog. I asked how many ribs come with the rib plate, and she said, «Six ribs, three bones and three gristle». Wha??? First of all, explaining any of your food as «gristle» seems like a mistake, as this word is singularly unappetizing. Plus, we still had no idea what she was talking about. We talked a bit more and figured out she meant rib tips, but we still didn’t understand how this made a six rib plate. My husband ordered it, still confused, and I ordered the pulled pork plate. What he got was three ribs and three rib tips, which had been separated. Only in bizarro world could you describe this as six ribs. It’s three St. Louis ribs, and just because you serve them separately does not mean you can claim otherwise. It’s misleading. Plus, on another part of the menu they offer twice the amount of ribs for only $ 3 more, although that’s not explained on the menu either; we had to interview our server to get that info. I mention this because menus that are not clearly written anger me… you don’t always know what you’re getting. Anyway, on to the food. I liked the mustardy/vinegary sauce that came with the pulled pork, although there was too much of it on the plate for my taste. I also prefer pulled pork that’s not so finely chopped, but I recognize that this is just a matter of personal preference, and have not docked them a star for it. The pulled pork had a good smoke flavor. The greens I ordered as a side were excellent. The baked beans had chili powder in them, which tastes Southwestern to me, and didn’t really go with the other flavors on the plate. I tried a rib and a rib tip from hubby’s plate; they come with the same sauce. The ribs were pretty good, but a little tough, and the rib tips were very tough. Overall, not bad, but not my favorite BBQ in Little Rock.

Yeah, this is pretty good BBQ. I tried the pork and the ribs. Both were nicely smoky. Both came sauced. Very good sauce, just a little sweet with the right amount of tangy. Nice! I ordered a rib plate and Miriam ordered the pork plate. They come with 2 sides and I chose BBQ beans and turnip greens. The dinner comes with twice as much meat and no sides. There weren’t enough ribs for me but I was hungry. You get 3 spare ribs with the plate. They tell you it’s 6 but they just cut them in ½ and call it «3 flat bones and 3 gristle». Wish she hadn’t described them like this. The ribs were tough but tasty. The pork was shredded too finely for me and there was a little too much sauce. Still delicious. Really loved the greens and the baked beans were very good as well. 3 ½ stars.

Sneaked in here with my father-in-law for a full on swine/hypertension fix. Atmosphere: friendly, no frills, not flashy. Food: chopped pork, baked beans and potato salad. Pretty good(maybe a 6.5 on a scale of 1 – 10). Sweet and tangy sauce; lots of sauce. Not bad, but not enough smoke for my tastes. Sides weren’t memorable. Price: good, $ 7 for a sandwich. I would for sure return. I need another crack at it… definitely going to try the ribs next(no sauce). My FIL loves the place and probably sneaks in here more than we know :).

It is places like this that restores my faith in family-owned«hole in the wall» places. I went here with 7 of my colleagues since we were all craving BBQ. When we walked in, I was pretty underwhelmed — how can a small little place like this that is virtually empty serve good food? I was in for a surprise. We were attended to by 2 waitresses who said they were related to the owner and that the 3-restaurant chain had been around since 1937! My half of the table ordered a whole chicken, sliced beef, and an order of the ribs along with a side of the baked beans and collard greens. The other half of our group did the same. When the food arrived, we were all pretty surprised away by the quantity. We all acknowledged the quality as well, almost simultaneously, with our first bites. Truly delicious BBQ — the sauce had its own distinct flavor as well — none of that bottled stuff taste. Long story short, the food here is REALLY good, at a GREAT price! Will definitely visit again if I’m in Little Rock and craving BBQ!

Oh Sim’s, how do I love thee. let me count the ways: 1) First meal I ate when I got off the DREADFUL plane rides from New York. Was starving and my sister offered to make me a salad when I arrived. … pardon me… a salad? I. Don’t. Think. So. And so, she knew how to one-up that offer times ten, and took me here. 2) I got a beef brisket sandwich, sister got the ribs. We took a bite of each others’ food. Died. And went to heaven. 3) Then we were revived, and ate the potato salad, cornbread, greens, and it made the nightmare that was turbulence-sickness and running around changed flights all disappear. So not only is it good food? but apparently magical ;)

Delicious. I had ribs, and they were fall of the bone, sweet and juicy. For sides I enjoyed greens(seasoned just right) and bbq baked beans. I would definitely eat at THISLOCATION again… went to one of the other locations(2415 Broadway St.) and they were out of ribs and the staff was not that friendly. Not the fanciest restaurant, looks like an old mexican restaurant, but the staff was great and very down-home friendly. My only complaint is that the ribs weren’t as warm as I’d like… but they were still good.

The best BBQ I’ve had in the Little Rock area and I’ve lived here in the past. I ordered the rib sandwich, expecting two or three ribs, dry, on two pieces of bread. But what I got was three large ribs and three rib tips, all piled on a slice of white bread covered in a thin vinegar based bbq sauce with another slice on top. I guarantee I will be stopping here EVERY time I come thru Little Rock. It’s that good!
