Came in on a Friday evening and had the Salsa Verde(too sweet), Santa Fe Chicken tacos(bland, no flavor, cold tortilla), Shanghai Shrimp(too spicy without flavor, cold tortilla, over cooked and rubbery shrimp), the jalapeño fried rice was mushy and too salty to eat, and the green Chile hashbrowns had no flavor. My margarita(Blackberry Tangerine) was good. I would come back for a drink but not the food.

I was in my hometown of Little Rock several months ago & wanted to take my friend to the Rev Room for tapas. I was disappointed to find out it’s no longer tapas but rather tacos. We had some drinks & decided to eat elsewhere. I still like the atmosphere & the waitress was good at explaining & validating our disappointment.

We were really impressed with this place! For starters, it’s *huge,* has some really cool quirky/custom seating, and a great back patio for nicer weather. It’s got everything from big booth tables to individual bar tables and the bar itself. But let’s get to the important part: Brunch! Mmm, Brunch! Here they do a «Beatles Brunch» that features clever Beatles-song-themed dishes. Nice number of options compared to other places in town, with even a vegetarian option or too. The Skillet was awesome! But, the real winner in this Brunch was the Bloody Mary bar — we’ve been to one or two places now that have these, but this one was really, really solid. And big, tons of options. If Bloody Mary’s are your must-have Brunch thing, this is your spot. They also have mimosas, which were good, and cheap, but more or less ordinary. Our service was excellent — friendly, prompt, and helpful. The only ding was the food. Which, since we were going for a meal, is a pretty big ding. It wasn’t bad, but our frittata/Omelette was raw on the inside, and a little bland. The home fried potatoes were uninspiring as well, if plentiful. Next time, I’m getting the skillet and some nachos to try again.

I struggle to write this review. Revolution utterly confuses me. Let me explain. When Revolution was«Rumba Revolution», my husband and I ate there semi frequently. The food and atmosphere was good. As the years went on, it was clear that the entertainment side of the building was their money maker — bands, concert, alcohol. The restaurant remained open, yet I personally never heard of anyone going there. A friend and I attempted to go there for lunch one day. Despite their website listing lunch hours, they were closed. Fast forward a few years, and my husband and I stopped in for a late lunch one day. We were one of the only tables, and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He mentioned that the menu had recently changed, and also that they were open to any feedback we could give. The menu had some interesting options, and overall, lunch was good. Fast forward another year or so, and my extended family and I decided to eat at Revolution for dinner. Our waitress was very attentive, and was detailed in listening to our food preferences(three vegetarians, one gluten free, two with food allergies) and ensuring we were accommodated. The chef himself even came out to ensure everything was to our liking. There were a few errors, but they were promptly corrected. I was so impressed with their concern for us to have a positive experience. In writing this review, I looked at Revolution’s website. It still has outdated hours and an outdated menu. Which makes me wonder how dedicated they are to revamping their business. Moral of the story, if you can catch them during open hours — they are worth a visit!

Favorite place around the market to bring my dog. Service is great, they even bring a water bowl for the pup!

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, good drinks food was another story, I had the fish tacos possibly the worst food I’ve ever had, the smoky slaw wasn’t fresh and crisp and the chipotle sauce was disgusting. My wife had a burger, well it was cooked right it wasn’t seasoned at all, but she gif say it was possibly the best bun ever. I’ll go back for the drinks and live music but we’ll eat elsewhere.

Sucked sucked sucked… They set their clocks 10 minutes fast so that happy hour passes unannounced. Drinks ordered at 6:50 were full price… «Sorry, managers orders» Service was poor, the manager wouldn’t comp a mango salsa they subbed(out of verde), the tacos were tasteless and bland… The owner/manager perhaps needs to do something other than manage restaurants.

Fun atmosphere, grade wait staff, good all-around service, and delicious fun food. Tuesday is taco Tuesday all-you-can-eat tacos, Wednesday is wine Wednesday, all some happy hour before 7PM during the week, and the brunch is out of this world with their two dollar mimosas and beetle themed menu and music

Really nice Sunday Brunch themed to Beatles music. I’m particularly fond of the Octopus’s garden(an Eggs Benedict with a crab cake instead of Canadian Bacon), The Lovely Rita Fritatta, and the Helter Skelter Burger(spicy!). Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Oh, and cheap Mimosas!

Just tucked into hotel after wandering down to Rev. Wanted to be outside on gorgeous night. Got fish tacos, guac, and salsa flight. I over-ordered a bit, but couldn’t decide! I looooooooove guac. I mean so much that my husband had concerns about my intake when we were dating. Yeah. I love it. This was delish in the most delish way. I may go back tomorrow. Saw 2 live acts on little outdoor stage, perfectly nice, not too loud, but just an enjoyable evening while traveling on business. And to think I almost ate at the hotel concierge club. This was a much better choice. Also, super nice server. One tiny note: w/fish tacos flour tortillas are just too heavy IMHO. Corn! Corn tortillas on fish tacos. But, I did eat every bit of the fish, very tasty grilled fish. Made up for calories with… you guessed it. Guac.

Please!!! Some call Bar Rescue. Food is OK when drunk watching a grunge band. Don’t bring friends here for dinner!

I went for brunch and was shocked by how boring the place was. It was almost totally empty except for a few people at the bar. Our server was very nice but really slow. The food was not impressive. I had the mango salsa to start. I did not care much for it, but my girlfriend who was with me said she liked it. I had the chicken and waffles for the main course. The chicken good, not great, I did enjoy it. The waffle was fine, could have been cooked just a little longer to get it crispy. Over all I don’t really have any complaints I just could not find any reason to ever go back.

So glad they changed the new menu to the NEWNEW menu. The guacamole is back! It’s a smidge spicy, but delicious. Fun atmosphere, great place to eat, take a break from watching a show up front, sing karaōke, or hang out with friends or your dog on the patio. New menu is much better now. Wait staff and bartenders are nice and attentive. Atmosphere is very appealing. Perfect RIvermarket hang out spot.

A couple Fridays ago we took advantage of the absolutely stellar spring weather and walked our three happy selves over to Revolution Restaurant on the corner of President Clinton Ave. and LaHarpe Blvd. — basically the gateway to the River Market District. Revolution is dog friendly and offers super-easy patio access for you and your pup around back(go down LaHarpe and hang a right around the building). The patio is pretty expansive; probably a dozen four-tops and several larger tables with banquettes. It’s nice that the owners haven’t crammed all of the tables together, which is super for us pet parents. We sat at a table, but a really cool patio feature we’ll take advantage of on a future visit are the two cushy and covered(sorta… they’re swagged with fabric) seating areas to the left featuring sofas, cocktail tables and overhead lighting. It would be great area for group of friends who want to hang out in a more outdoor lounge-type atmosphere. Since it was just the three of us, we didn’t want to take up that space. We hit the patio around seven, and it was surprisingly uncrowded for a Friday evening. Live music doesn’t start until later, and I’m pretty sure Revolution and the Rev Room draw more of the late night clientele, so it’s absolutely ideal for us dog folks to head over for an early-ish dinner. We kicked ours off with a couple of beers and the Creamy Crab Dip. Holy crap do you get a lot for your money($ 7). The dip is warm, just a tiny bit spicy and made with real crab meat(points for not using«frab») and served with a large basket of salty, crispy tortilla strips. I’m thinking this app would normally be shared among four people, but *someone* was really busy at work that day and hadn’t eaten much, and I love crab dip, so… we utterly destroyed that dish. Smarter people than us would have stopped there, but come on, dude. Tacos. TACOS! Revolution’s menu features 14 different styles, ranging from traditional(Old School), to Greek-style(Opa!), to crab cake(Big in Baltimore). And, if you don’t want tacos, you have the option of getting the ingredients in a salad or in a bowl with rice and beans. For his entrée, Mike chose the Beale St. BBQ(shredded pork, jack cheese, white onion, and smoky slaw), and I went a little more mainstream with the Big Tex(fajita steak, grilled peppers & onions, pico, jack cheese, cilantro, and sour cream). In addition to two large tacos you also have your choice of two generous side dishes. We selected the grilled corn salad and the black beans. Both the tacos and the sides are enormous. Mike’s BBQ tacos were the winner of our choices. He wouldn’t let me have a bite(I kid), but he said they were perfectly smoky and had a nice spice, just like you’d expect from a good pulled pork sandwich. Mine, on the other hand, were a bit more… unusual. The steak was tender and the fixin’s were nicely grilled, but rather than the cumin/lime flavor profile of a fajita that I was expecting, the meat had an inexplicable soy/ginger flavor combination. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t unpleasant at all; just different. The corn salad was absolutely fabulous, and we both highly recommend it. The corn kernels had a lovely char to them and the sprinkle of cotija cheese and a little squeeze of lime reminded me of Mexican grilled corn on the cob. Roxanne thoroughly enjoyed her time with us on the patio, and she got lots of attention from some other patrons. All-in-all, it’s a great place to spend outdoor time with your buddies and your pup. Sit. Stay.

«Beatles» brunch consists of bad recorded cover music and a limited nontraditional menu, no pancakes! The light globes above the tables are covered in years of dust. I would not bring kids here again.

I would never come here to eat again. We brought out-of-town friends here for Sunday brunch. Big mistake. The staff was still recovering from the night before. Table was very dirty. Food was blah. Mimosas were made with something resembling Sunny D. No thanks.

Food is good so far. Service is horrid. We got about ½ our appetizers and we have several empty drinks with no one to be found. One of our party has go to the bar to attempt to get refills. It’s 2 p.m. on a Saturday with maybe 25 people in the entire place. We are told they are short handed but there are people standing around everywhere. Not a pleasant experience.

I visited this place for the first time recently. It has a really unique look to it and a different vibe than many of the other places around it. After seeing the menu, I was surprised to see how limited it was and was kind of put off by its unoriginality. I’d expected more from such a cool looking place. We ended up ordering a few appetizers which are not worth mentioning here, it was all just ok. This definitely seems more like a place to drink it up with friends rather than to sit and eat. Don’t expect great service… I noticed our waitress was responsible for a few tables inside as well as half of the patio, which was overflowing with partyers needing their cocktails refreshed. They had karaōke going on that night which was loud but entertaining to watch, the DJ was pretty good too… the patio seemed like the place to be! It was really lively and everyone was having a good time. I would go back but I’ll definitely have dinner elsewhere first!

I was in town for a huge reunion of friends. We went down to Rumba on Friday night for an after-party. They knew we were coming so it was all good. Not a peep was made when we asked if karaōke could be brought inside(some of our crew was from places that don’t do 98 at night – lol). Then our server never batted an eye when we all ordered then moved to a completely different part of the bar. What a trooper. Karaōke was fun. Really enjoyed it. Our group dominated but there were others there as well. The Queso Blanco I had was kind of bland but being from Austin, I may have different expectations. The drink I had was good – not stingy on the alcohol so points for that! I liked the décor with its ethnic feeling. All in all I’d go back to Rumba!

9 times out of 10 I have a great experience here. They have a WONDERFUL patio that is also pet friendly(however that doesn’t mean that it is over run with dogs or anything). The food is always tasty, the border turkey is very good, cheese dip, oh and the crab dip is delicious… The only downside is that the service is occasionally on the slow side, which isn’t a problem if you have having a relaxing afternoon… but when you have somewhere you have to be and you are waiting on your check for over ½ hour it gets a little annoying.(keep in mind this has only happened about 3 times to me in the past couple years I’ve been going here)
