Worst service EVER!!! If you have a hour lunch you still do not have enough time to enjoy your lunch.

Good service and decent prices. I ordered a 2 piece meal to go. Chicken was bland and definitely not crispy.

Not sure what all the craze about this place is. I personally think KFC has better chicken. It is downtown, so if you’re down there and want fried chicken it’s your only choice. Definitely not a place I’m rushing to eat at.

The very best fried chicken I have ever had in the entire whole wide world. Tender, juicy, spicy awesomeness. Picking sides was hard. So of course I order almost all of them. Slaw, baked beans, Mac & Chs, and the collard greens. The baked beans and greens are on point! Nice big cold mimosa too. When I go back to Little Rock for work this will be a required stop. Loved it!

Your standard fried chicken(although all batter is spicy!). I thought the fried chicken and fries were crispy, hot, and ample. Otherwise, it’s a 2-star experience – greens were so bland(from a can?), bread was indiscernible sliced white bread, and beans were unusually sweet from some kind of pepper/sugar situation(not brown sugar). Staff were friendly, but somewhat inattentive – I had to requests things multiple times. They seemed to be in a kerfuffle with each other, actually.

I was highly optimistic after reading the good reviews. The service was great, but the Famous Chicken was way over cooked and dry inside. Maybe people just enjoy the spiciness but even the flavor seemed to be lacking. The sides I had were delicious, but the portion size of them was unexpectedly small. Sadly I’ve had better fried chicken at KFC.

Appreciated the friendliness from the moment I stepped in. Two different people let me know that I could sit anywhere I wanted. You could hear the cheerfulness in their voices. Gus’s has a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Although not fancy at all it does remind me of southern restaurants that I visited when a child. I was concerned that they might only have icky national brand beers but was surprised to find a rather decent selection of brews including several craft beers. I selected a craft vanilla bean stout that I had not tried and was very pleased with the brew when it arrived. Good job Tallgrass Brewing. When ordering the waitress was very helpful in suggesting a special that was near what I ordered. However, wanting what I wanted, I opted for a two piece white meat and did the small up charge per side to get something other than the standard baked beans and slaw. The food arrived in a very reasonable timeframe and was HOT. The Mac and Cheese was simply awesome and something anybody that likes Mac n Cheese would be thrilled to eat. They were served with some red stuff on top and when it arrived I was concerned that it was red pepper but turned out to be paprika. The potato salad was good but not great. I think they used a sweet pickle instead of a dill which made it a bit different. Not bad mind you, just not great. The chicken. This stuff is seriously good. Hands down a great fried chicken. Beware, it is spicy so if you have a problem with a bit of heat you may want to ask if they have options. It wasn’t too spicy mind you but for bland food eaters it will stand out. Extremely moist and tasty. Simply great fried chicken. Not mama style but mama would also agree that it was good. Overall a very good find in Little Rock

really loved the fried okra, just the right amount of batter, not overly greasy the chicken is fried just right, the skin is quite crispy and not a lot of overwhelming batter also try the whole pickled jalapeño, a bit spicy, but very good!

I love me some fried chicken!!! I ordered the half chicken spicy and the flavor was great! Very good. The sides however were not so great. They aren’t even worth ordering to be honest. As much as I like mashed potatoes and gravy with a side to go with my fried chicken next time it will just be fried chicken I order! To hell with the sides! After all this is a famous CHICKEN place! Haha On a side note I enjoyed the atmosphere, music and the waitresses crazy fun spirit! Some soul in the kitchen, Marvin Gaye playing in the joint and some fried chicken!!! Yes mamm I think I will !! Lets get it on

Fried chicken! A poor man’s meat cooked for taste and clogging arteries, and at Gus’s, they do just that– not the clogging arteries part, but the meat here is delicious especially the tenders. However, I would not recommend eating here every day because the meals are heavy, but hey’s it’s FRIEDCHICKEN! What else can you expect?! Other plusses: — The waitress is friendly. — The coleslaw is just right– not excessively creamy. — It never gets too busy, just sit down in a chair, relax, and chomp away at some fried chicken!

The best fried chicken in town. Gus’s Wold Famous Fried Chicken located in the downtown Little Rock. If you like popeyes fried chicken, this is better. Gus serve the southern fried chicken and beer. The dinning room setup is very interesting. They have lower platform and upper platform with step up. The kick he is in the upper level with food ordering. Is nice to see this local restaurant thrive in the city. We have order a few pieces to try on. The chicken is spicy with crispy flour on the outside. It is crunchy when you bite the skin. The marinated spice went into the meat. You can taste the flavor even in meat deep. You know immediately this good southern fried chicken with family recipe. The service is good and friendly. Can not ask better than this since the food is already good. Try it don’t miss it.

Very delicious fried chicken! It’s southern style, spicy, and fresh. Good price, good service, no wonder it calls«world famous«.

I fully agree with their statement. The chicken just doesn’t get any better. Perfectly crisp and perfectly seasoned. The Potato Salad and Baked Beans were spot on as well. It’s not only the chicken. The customer service should be recognized as well. It’s superb. I had the pleasure of meeting and being served by Jasmine. She kept thing going, took orders, served, kept everyone organized. It was a joy cross paths with her. If you come to Little Rock you should make it a point to come by this restaurant.

I have come to love fried chicken but am pretty discerning. I usually avoid KFC and Popeyes if I can avoid it and stick to only authentic southern spots or the extra crispy double fried Korean chicken. I was staying down the street from Gus’s and figured I would give it a try after reading the reviews. They make everything to order so keep that in mind. Took 15 – 20 minutes for just a few pieces of chicken and fries. They do take call ahead orders though. Just try to time it so it’s nice and fresh. The staff overall was super friendly. The wifi didn’t work and they kept trying to help and offering me water while I waited for my carry out. Mostly just variations of chicken(legs, wings, breasts) and the typical southern sides. The best deal is with dark meat and legs I found or it can get a little pricey. I loved the crispness, little grease if any, and how warm and tender the meat was. The meat was slightly gristly in pieces but overall good. The sides were perfectly cooked. I left a little hungry so try to order a lot. I loved the slight spiciness of their batter. Definitely not too much so not sure why some of the other reviewers were being so wimpy about it. Great overall.

Service was lacking but the chicken was hot and spicy and delicious. I ordered a two piece dark that came with baked beans and Cole slaw. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese for a total of just under $ 10 The sides were nothing impressive. I probably wouldn’t come back for a repeat meal.

First time here… yes, the wait takes a little while, but they cook the chicken to order so we were ok with it. Subbed with mac-n-cheese…very, very good. I am a mac-n-cheese snob and they definitely met my standards. We got all wings. Only 4 stars because the wings are a little small. It is the whole wing and the slight spicy kick was perfect. My sweetie had the baked beans and they were also very, very good. Our waiter(Joel) was all alone and did a great job checking on us and keeping our cups filled. We will defiantly be back. Next time we’ll try the collard greens.

Great service and great food! The chicken is perfectly spicy. The sides– baked beans, coleslaw, and Mac and cheese were great. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Cool atmosphere.

Gus’s was delicious. Their fried chicken is crispy and tender on the inside. There’s a slight spicy rub which gives it amazing flavor but by no means is it overwhelming. Two wing plate comes with baked beans, coleslaw and a piece of bread. You can substitute sides for a small fee. The chicken is a good size so the two piece can definitely fill you up. Prices were very fair, for the two wing plate that I ordered it was under 8 dollars for the meal. That’s tough to find these days! Can’t wait to go back for another delicious Gus’s lunch!

I had a three piece custom combo with breast, thigh, and wing. Sides of mashed potatoes and greens. I really enjoyed the chicken. Tasty, spicy, juicy but a bit greasy. I don’t think I’ll get the mashed potatoes again. The greens were solid. Sweet tea was just right for me in a cute Gus’ to go cup. Prices are reasonable. Service was friendly but a tad slow. I would definitely come back.

There is nothing more sinfully delicious than sinking into a just made hotel bed with Styrofoam container of fried chicken. After seeing the sign for Gus’, I knew that THIS was my fate. I ordered a two piece dark meat with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese(this girl loves carbs, so sue me!) to go from a sassy looking blonde at the counter. They cook the chicken made to order so I had to wait an excruciating 15 minutes for my food to arrive. By the time I got back to my hotel room, the chicken had cooled to a palatable condition. I took a bite and immediately my ears were met with a melodic crunch. This was some crispy ass chicken y’all! The coating had a surprising amount of heat in it(which apparently a lot of the locals aka Über drivers I talked to don’t like) but it was nothing this Extra Spicy Popeyes Veteran could not handle. The chicken was moist on the inside and it was not greasy at all. What was a bit of a disappointment were the sides. One, instead of mac and cheese I got a potato salad the yuckiest of all salads. Two, the mashed potatoes looked and tasted like the mashed potatoes that I used to get at my K-Mart Kids Happy Meal(yessum, I grew up poor).
