The cheese dip was good, chips were excellent but everything else was just mediocre. The white chicken, if that’s what you call it, was a poor quality. We had the chicken fajitas and they were just so so. I come to Little Rock often, but I won’t be coming back to this restaurant.

I eat at Local Lime at least once a week. It’s my favorite. Best items: Coastal Salad with Salmon, Caribbean Shrimp Tacos, Zucchini Salsa & Chorizo Tacos. Plus the Green Chili stew when it’s available.

Every opportunity to enjoy the food at Loca Luna is enjoyed, so today’s visit was very pleasant. Prompt service, well-prepared food, and informal ambiance are always appreciated. The salsa and queso are great starters; and all 3 of us enjoyed our respective entrees. The Monday special of roast turkey breast was excellent; the tortilla soup looked great; as did the lobster bisque. No room for dessert, but I left already looking forward to my next visit to Little Rock, and Loca Luna.

Margaritas are still great! Key lime pie is another story. Filling and whipped cream are great. Unfortunately, the graham cracker pie crust was too thick and loaded with way too much cinnamon. The cinnamon was so strong you could not taste the pie filling. Nix the cinnamon and make the pie crust a little thinner and it will be a perfect key lime pie.

Local Lime is a fun and trendy restaurant located in suburbs of Little Rock. We decided to give it a try after reading several positive reviews about the food. To start, I ordered a pomegranate frozen margarita. Hands down it was one of the best margaritas I’ve had. I only wish that my glass was bigger! Hubby had a cocktail also which he enjoyed immensely. Local Lime offers a three salsa appetizer which is quite tasty and an awesome bargain as well. We tried mango, house tomato and the verse. All were equally great, but the mango was my favorite. Overall, solid place for apps and drinks. For our main entrees, we selected Caribbean beer battered fried shrimp tacos and steak quesadilla’s. The tacos were served with black beans and infused rice. The rice was amazing. The tacos were good, but if you’re not a huge fan of spice, ask for the sauce on the side. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She gave her honest and unfiltered opinions when we asked for her advice. She is an undeniable asset to the restaurant. There are a few areas for improvement. Firstly, their hours of business should be extended. Closing at 9pm during the weekday just doesn’t seem to be working. We arrived at 8:30pm and I was worried that we could be turned away because it was only 30 minutes before close, but we witnessed several parties, including a party of over ten, that arrived after us. Clearly as more and more customers rushed in, I began to wonder why their closing hours are at 10pm during the week. Secondly, their dessert menu is limited. Even with limited options, I gave their version of Tres Leche a shot and I still regret adding that to the order. The cake is a 3 rum Tres Leche. I imagine that I would have been fine if they made a traditional Tres Leche and added the rum, but something about the taste and consistency missed the mark. Overall, Local Lime is a cool spot and an A-okay choice. Little Rock has many mexican restaurants and I’d dare to venture elsewhere on our next visit. If I’m in the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop in for drinks and appetizers.

Local Lime, you did not live up to the hype! Had been hearing about this place for a minute and my husband and I decided to make it out victory meal after completing the Ouachita Trail 50. What a disappointment! My margarita which was referred to as, «The best margarita in Little Rock» tasted like a mix. Nothing fresh or original about it. The«made fresh daily» tortilla chips were soggy and bland. The cheese dip was decent but the guac had this strange bite to it. My mother-in-law ordered some enchiladas and only ate one. My husband ordered the cod, chorizo, and carnitas taco. All were lacking flavor. How can you have all that meat and so very little flavor? I ordered the special for the night which was a chicken quesadilla with all sorts of stuff on it. That was actually pretty good however, not good enough to ever make us return. The whole meal was expensive, bland ‘Mexican’ food in a cool atmosphere. Too much hype, not enough follow through. Out half as much time into the food as you did the vibe of the joint and the food may actually be worth eating.

Local lime is much like the rest of the watered down Mexican food establishments in Little Rock(i.e. Cantina Laredo)– prepackaged looking food devoid of flavor. It’s unfortunate, really, because I wanted to like it. The ambiance is trendy, but the food really is just not even mediocre. As I bit into my steak tacos, I immediately thought, «For this, I’d rather have gone to chipotle.» I’m sure they will continue to do well, however, since the location is convenient for shoppers at the promenade.

Local Lime is absolutely perfect if you’re looking for a Little Rock restaurant to impress your out-of-town friends with. The margaritas are hard to compete with(try the Lavender!) and they have a quaint but precise menu of classics made unique(once the special was a Salmon Quesadilla with brie instead of the regular cheese). The menu if fun, fresh, and unique, and the vegan/vegetarian options are some of the best you can get at a Mexican-esque restaurant, especially the Spicy Black Bean tacos! Don’t let the small portion sizes fool you, the entrees are filling and usually require a to-go box. For those who actually eat dessert after a meal, I strongly recommend splitting(yes, splitting) the Chocolate Tart. This dessert is so rich that one bite will satisfy your taste buds for at least an hour, or until your next sip of their award-winning frozen margaritas. I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 due to the atmosphere. Although I appreciate the spunky patio area and low lighting, the noise inside on a busy evening is, as Unilocal would say, Very Loud. This is not the place to go for a first date, at least not for dinner on a Friday night if you want to hear what the person is saying. When the crowds are insane the wait staff pushes tables very close together and super close to the front door. Once I was literally back to back with a gentleman sitting behind me. It was interesting. My favorite time to visit LL is for a mid-afternoon margarita, when the crowd is small and I can easily chat with whoever is with me.

I went here for an anniversary lunch with my husband and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure what to get so I asked our server Misty and she suggested a few items. I went with her favorite, the beer battered fish tacos. They were fantastic! The sauce on top was a nice compliment. My husband ordered the lunch enchiladas and said they were also very good. Afterwards we had the key lime pie which was fantastic. Normally I’m not a fan of pie crust but theirs was great, very moist. You’ll notice in my pictures that we couldn’t wait to dig in. My only very small problem was the sides selection. I went for the rice and the slaw. The rice was buttery tasting but bland and the slaw didn’t have enough sauce. With that being said the service was fabulous, the main courses were wonderful, and the price was very reasonable. We’ll definitely eat at Local Lime again and tell our friends.

Occasionally, you find a place that knows how to stay in it’s own culinary lane. A place that does not try to make 100 different dishes and styles of cuisine. Local Lime is definitely one of those places. The menu is not 10 pages long. You will not find Asian, Mexican and sushi all on this menu. What you WILL find are wonderful, hand-crafted dishes. They do only a limited amount of dishes, but what they do make, no one in this area can hope to rival. Superior ingredients, handled with knowledge and attention to detail. The menu is truly a feast for the eye as well as the body. I was going to take pictures of my Codfish tacos, but frankly, I dove in like a starving woman the minute the runner laid it on the table! My husband — NOT a tamale guy, got the special — tamales. This is a sign of just how much faith we have in the kitchen staff here that he took what for him was a big risk. Drunken beans with smokey bacon and cilantro lime rice rounded out his meal. I had fish tacos, cilantro lime rice and the jalapeño/jicama slaw. EVERYTHING was amazing! If possible ask for Davion to take care of you! He is as awesome as the food — and THAT is saying something! I am waiting on the chocolate tart and coffees to arrive to finish out the meal!

I dined here alone while overnight in Little Rock on business. I sat at the bar, like I usually do when dining alone. The bar staff were very friendly. I ordered the salsa trio: 3 Chile, tomatillo, and a veggie/pumpkin seed kind, as recommended by the bartender. All three were delicious! The 3 Chile was pretty spicy(and I was warned by the bartender) but I mixed it with the others and they were all uniquely great. For dinner I had the spinach enchiladas. I’m not a vegetarian and usually prefer to have meat in my entrée but these sounded really good, so I wanted to try them. They were a little heavy on the cheese, I scraped some off because I wanted to taste more of the spinach and artichoke flavor. The enchiladas, beans and rice were excellent! The extra cheese didn’t go to waste; I scooped it up with some chips and salsa later! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, wait staff, and meal here. No complaints at all!

I didn’t come into Little Rock until late at night so this place was perfect in that it closed a little late. The place had a clean and modern atmosphere and the staff was pleasant as well. We sat at the booth which was large enough to fit our group of 5. To start off, I had the corns on the cob which was similar to elotes except not in a cup. It is a little expensive but the seasoning and lime made up for it. The tacos were small-medium sized and were enough to fill me up. I also ordered the cilantro rice with pickled veggies as part of the sides that came with the plate. I thought the tacos were a little too saucy but they were still good. They were more modern-infused tacos and not your usual street tacos. I enjoyed the cilantro rice a lot and wished I ordered two of that. The pickled veggies were a little spicy but if you love pickled food, you would enjoy them. My favorite part of the meal was the rum tres leches. OMG. I don’t really like tres leches normally because of how sweet they are but their tres leches is my favorite of all-time. It was not too overly-sweet AND it was super moist with greatness in every bite. I could taste the alcohol but it was perfect how they made it. I was expecting to not finish the cake(because my friends were warning me that it was a lot) but no, I definitely finished it to the very last bite. I think I would have to get a slice of cake every time I come into town. Overall, I had a good experience here!

Unique menu of tacos, fusion-Mexican plates, and salsas make Local Lime a great spot to try in West Little Rock. The menu isn’t overly diverse, but still has plenty to choose from– and with excellent margaritas(especially frozen!) and some of the most unique and flavorful salsas you’ll have, it really is a must-try when in the city. The prices are fair: but you do pay for everything($ 3.50 for a sampling of the three salsas, for example). Expect to pay $ 10 – 13 for your plate of three tacos and two sides– but the side portions are generous and tasty, especially the black beans and cilantro lime rice. I really like their chorizo tacos with caramelized pineapple. You get sweet, savory, and smoky all in one. The fish tacos aren’t bad, but their salsas are a must-try. The tres chiles and the pumpkin seed salsas are my favorite. They range from more traditional to heavier and thick, but still pretty much guarantee that you will like one or two quite a bit. Expect a wait on the weekends, as this is one of the trendier spots in the area.

The finger food is visually appealing. However this boutique take on Mexican cuisine leaves more to be desired. The décor of the restaurant and presentation of the food is trendy, and stylish. The choices leave more to be desired. The waiters are a bit non chalant, I think if management focused on a better waiting experience that would make this restaurant a bit more appealing. I enjoyed the house made salsas, and the desert. The entrees were mediocre.

This is a cute little place if you want something other than the traditional Mexican food. This place is also one of the better restaurants in the promenade. I recommend their guacamole and their chips and dip. I like their zucchini dip the best and if you are craving something sweeter, the Caribbean mango one is good too. The beer battered fried fish tacos are huge and at times a bit fishy. The carnitas is ok. The cilantro lime rice is pretty good for those who like cilantro. This place is a bit pricey and you will spend some money on a few tacos. There’s usually always a wait on the weekends.

Amazing food! Mexican with a spin… traditional Mexican cuisine with blends of local flavors. I had the chicken fajitas. They came with a variety of traditional and unique veggies(e.g. Radishes?!) yum! Very trendy décor and atmosphere. Service was average. Came at 6pm on a Sunday. Was seated immediately.

Not impressed. If you are use to authentic(real) Mexican food I’m afraid you will be disappointed. I was. It’s mediocre tex mex. Meh. It wasn’t bad. but just wasn’t great! I found myself day dreaming about this little joint in North Little Rock called Guadalajara as I took a bite into the chorizo taco at local lime. Wishing I was at the little joint eating some real chorizo some real authentic Mexican food. After being use to authentic Mexican food I just wasn’t pleased. I will say the zucchini salsa was different and very good. I may go back to try a drink but defiantly won’t be back for the food. You can get much better food for much cheaper at a little hole in the wall where they do not speak English ;) just fyi. Also, I have been sick since eating there today. I won’t go into detail but I was fine until I ate at Local Lime.

I think local lime has the best cheese dip in all of Arkansas! The frozen margaritas are also a must try! I’ve had several things on the menu and it’s all very good. I like the chicken fajitas best of all!

Pretty solid tex-mex place. What really sold me were the salsas, they have a whole menu of them and they’re all really, really good. The guacamole was just OK, the chips, excellent. Charging for salsa was a little different for me but it’s cheap and VERY good so it’s fine by me. The food is definitely more tex-mex than straight up Mexican and it’s very good. I had the carnitas tacos and they were good. My sister had the fajitas which smelled phenomenal. They have local beer from Lost 40 on tap which is always nice to see. Looking at the place though I couldn’t really decide if they were a chain or a local shop; apparently they are local and this is the only location but the place has a very mega-chain like feel to it.
