I definitely liked this place! I like that they are open late & have good flavor varieties. I was sad they were out of s’mores which is my fave flavor anywhere, but the flavor i had(chocolate chip pancake) was delish! I was happy to see chocolate chips throughout the cake & not just on top. But i definitely agree that the frosting it very sweet(especially since mine was maple’y)! I would come back. The young woman who helped us was not very friendly. I know we don’t all like our jobs or we’re tired or having a bad day, but HOW can i person be sullen-faced at a cupcake shop?!?

I went to Gigi’s the other night while I was craving cupcakes after work, most cupcakeries were already closed so I headed over there and bought the salted caramel cupcake &2 gluten free wedding cake cupcakes. My total was a little over $ 10, which I didn’t mind much because it’d be worth it if they were amazing. The salted caramel was pretty good, very rich and decadent, but there was way too much icing… The wedding cake ones were extremely dry. I guess for gluten free that is somewhat to be expected but they need to add some coconut oil to the recipe or something because there is literally no moisture whatsoever in them… Maybe I’ll give them another try someday and stay clear of the gluten free selection.

As a notorious sweet-tooth, I’ve eaten more than my fair share of cupcakes in life. Gigi’s cupcakes are my ideal cupcake: the cake is moist, moderately dense, and not very sweet and the icing is thick, rich, and flavorful. And there’s a TON of it. To other reviewers complaining that there is too much icing: scrape some off and give it to me! I’ve tried the Kentucky Bourbon, the Italian Cream, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and all were stellar. If I could eat nothing for the rest of my life but the cookie dough icing, I would die quickly but happy.

Here it is in a nut shell. Cupcakes have too much icing but the cakes are spot on. The cheese cake is excellent. Nice little personal size bites of heaven! My, my the cheese cake has been the reason I’m «accidentally» always in the area.

I’ve been back since my original visit. Ask for the freshest batch they have and you’ll get something very moist and delicious.

I really love this place. I also love the fact that they stay open past 5. Its awesome to be out shopping and go for a «cupcake run» The cupcakes are huge. I have only encountered one dry cupcake, everything else has been very fresh and moist. Check the menu, they have different cupcakes everyday, and sunday is bakers choice. They also have a rewards program. I would recommend liking your local Gigi’s on facebook, as they will often post sales like«buy one get one free from now until close»

someone brought a selection to work a few days ago, and i snagged up the bacon/maple flavor. i was super excited to have a CUPCAKEWITHBACON. it was delicious. the icing on it’s own is literally 3 inches high, so if you are the type to scrape off icing, gigi’s will disappoint you. the actually cake itself was moist. I was so impressed that i went to gigi’s the next day so my husband could try them. I got the grasshopper mint, and he got a peanut butter chip(not sure of the official name). the icing was wonderful. but, the actual chocolate cake on mine was super duper mega dry. that made me kind of sad. maybe, it’s just the chocolate that cannot hold moisture. i’ll go back and try them again and find out.

My friend and I were so excited to enjoy some cupcakes in this cute little shop next to Target. We ordered the cookies and cream cheesecake(cheesecake in the shape of a cupcake but not a cupcake) and a lemon cupcake. The texture of the cheesecake was so chalky and the flavor was not appetizing at all, I couldn’t even finish it… The lemon cupcake was tolerable, but honestly, I’ve had better boxed cakes. Don’t think we’ll be going back, it was a big disappointment.

I was so excited to see that Gigi’s was finally open! I stop at the one in Nashville every time I make the drive to & from Charlotte, NC. The shop is cute and in a great, growing location. The staff was absolutely awesome. The manager could not have been nicer and the young girl behind the counter was more than happy to explain every flavor combination to me. I also LOVED that in addition to the manager they had 3 – 4 people behind the counter working. The manager was coaching them on how to help the customers, and to be sure to answer all of their questions. All of the cupcakes sounded amazing, but I ordered the strawberry cream. It was a vanilla cupcake with a mountain of strawberry cream cheese frosting. The cupcake was amazing, It was light & fluffy & tasted fresh. My only complaint with the cupcake? So. Much. Frosting. It was fine in this case because it wasn’t ridiculously sweet and it was amazingly delicious & creamy, but it was still a lot of frosting. I honestly scooped about half of it off. I’d rather there be too much frosting rather than too little, but it feels like a waste to me. And good frosting should never be wasted. I also really loved their packaging. Without asking, they put the cupcake in one of their cute pale green boxes and sealed it with a pink and white sticker. I loved that they just gave you the box and didn’t charge extra. At other cupcake shops I’ve been to, they put the cupcakes in a paper bag unless you’re willing to pay extra for a box and the frosting ends up smooshed. I am so excited Gigi’s is open, and I have a feeling we’ll be making a lot more trips out to this side of town now =)
