After waiting several minutes for no one to show up at the front desk to check me in, I called their number and talked with a pleasant man who said he would call and find someone for me. He came back on the line and said whoever was working was helping with another customer. I highly doubt she was helping anyone because she reeked of cigarette smoke and too much perfume. I was offered no apology for my wait. She gave me a room on the third floor, but after trying two different staircases I was unable to get to my room because they were painting. I went back and asked for a different room that was accessible. She was very rude about this. I then went into the room and could hardly breathe for the awful smell. It was cigarettes mixed with something very bad. The floors were visibly dirty and stained, and the bathroom and kitchen were dirty. The good thing I have to say for them is that they refunded my money.

Absolutely terrible. The rooms were regular(small) hotel rooms with an electric range, dirty microwave, and filthy /leaking fridge. The rooms were very small when I had been expecting a suite. There were bugs, including cockroaches, the kitchen sink leaked, the dressers were broken, and all the kitchen drawers were full of grime and food particles. The wall next to the electric range was covered in grease spatters, and the floor near and under the bed was covered in grime and dirt. There were no pots and pans in the room, and the front desk couldn’t say when any would be available. There was initially no coffee maker in the room. The only silverware was a single metal spoon, along with a plastic knife from a previous guest.(Although the front desk did later provide a coffee maker, spoons, and knives — but no forks.) Finally, the door handle/lock broke on the second day. The front desk could not get it fixed and planned on switching our rooms. We got our refund and left. The staff were pleasant. That is the only nice thing I can say about the place. There is no excuse for dirty rooms.

This entire hotel experience was unpleasant, from start to finish. To begin, I checked in a few minutes after 3pm. It must have been time for a shift change, because neither employee wanted to check me in. I was giving my credit card to Unwilling Employee #1, when a gentleman who was clearly intoxicated came in and asked for a spare key. I have no idea what happened, but the man left without the key. About a minute later, one of the employees barged in the office door and said that the man(or his companion, not sure) had fallen. All of the employees, including the one checking me in, ran outside to watch. I remained where I was, and the employee returned. Some of the others came in a few minutes later, telling the woman helping me to call 911, which she did. I waited. Then the woman continued checking me in while the employees talked and laughed about the man. I finally got checked into my first room. Here’s the quick and dirty of the 15 minutes I spent in that room(I’ve attached pics of many of these): 1. The room had a peculiar smell. 2. The sheets were dirty. 3. There was no toilet paper on the roll. 4. The freezer had weird stains. 5. The ceiling had weird stains. 6. The carpet had weird stains. 7. There was no tv remote. 8. The phone didn’t work. 9. The lounge chair had weird stains. 10. The handles on the dresser were missing. 11. The bathroom mirror was dirty. However: 1. The tv was nice. I didn’t turn it on, but it was nice. 2. The microwave was clean.(I’m really trying to find some positives.) So I walked back to the office(like I mentioned, the phone didn’t work) and asked for another room. The manager was perfectly pleasant, and I had another room and was on my way within minutes. Here is the breakdown of the second room – again, check out the pics: 1. There were weird stains on the carpet and lounge chair. 2. The handles on the bedside table were upside down. 3. There were stains in the freezer and along the walls. 4. The tv was an HD flatscreen, but the cable was standard definition, so that was awkward and terrible. 5. The walls are paper thin. 6. The kitchen is equipped with 2 plates, 2 bowls, a small pot, and the cover of a large pot(but not the actual pot). There are utensils as well. 7. There is no garbage in the kitchen. Or the living area. The only garbage can is a tiny one in the bathroom. However; 1. There was a remote for the tv, and the phone worked. 2. The bed was clean, as was the microwave. 3. The bed was really, really comfortable. 4. There were no bedbugs(which I was pleasantly surprised by). I stayed the whole night, and used the kitchen. All I really needed was a comfortable bed, and I kept my stuff away from the visible stains. The room was relatively cheap(it came out to about $ 56) so I was going to let bygones be bygones. However, that was until I was woken up by a banging on my door around 9:15. Housekeeping was eager to get in my room to(maybe) clean the sheets and almost certainly not do anything about the stains. She banged loudly on my door, and I yelled that I was sleeping. She left. She came back about 35 minutes later, by banging on the door again. Checkout time is 11am: any unnecessary intrusion before that is awful. That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. There’s a kind of continental breakfast available. I didn’t partake, opting to sleep in instead. I ended up having a human alarm clock(complete with a 35 minute snooze button) so I could have grabbed my nutrigrain bar if I hadn’t been so disoriented by the battering ram at my door. All in all, the level of service was subpar at best. The accommodations were unclean. The bed is nice. So if you are in the market for an absolutely no-frills motel of very questionable cleanliness and an involuntary wake-up call and you’re short on cash… you should still go somewhere else.

After one night, we woke up sick and coughing. We discovered lots of mold hidden behind the curtain. We were sick for days afterward. It’s not right that they lock you into the whole stay when you make a reservation. Lots of other issues, even after we switched rooms(one without massive amounts of mold). Just awful.

I’ve never stayed at an ESA but I had a teaching gig for Thai massage in Maumelle and priceline gave me a nice room, flight, car rental deal. I show up, grab my key, fill out the paperwork and am told, «we will call you in the room in 15 minutes to make sure you’ve everything you need. Room was fine, seemed clead, linens in place and sure enough… ring ring. I stayed for 3 days, my room had a kitchen, fridge, coffee pot and sink. I can see why someone who traveled lots would stay in these places. I found the facility fine, easy to access and comfortable. I’m not sure how things usually run but my bed was not made and I actually Prefer that being as I’m in the same room for 3 days. I don’t need someone going through my things and rifling through. If I come to town again this is where I’ll stay.
