This Place Of Business Is Racist, Discriminating, and An Embarrassment Of Other Establishments.

Disregard the rating, I just want to voice my opinion.
Ms. Tran shouldn’t have charged the customer the fee without informing her prior. I believe the salon should be accountable for not openly posting their weight policies. However, I don’t agree with all the reviews below bashing this particular salon based on a news story and having not been there themselves (Chicago, really? You would go all to get your nails done?). How is that for accurate or fair?
I trust reviews on Unilocal because I trust that my Unilocal peers to have been there before. Writing a review without visiting an establishment is just irresponsible and damaging.
Also, it’s not cool to jump on bandwagons and trash a place just because you heard something on TV.

Ms. Tan discriminates against people she feels are too fat for her pedicure chairs — which frankly is insulting the makers of the chairs, since THEY rate the chairs for another 50% higher than she claims. Then she has the gall to HIDE EXTRA CHARGES based on the claim that the person in question is responsible for fixing her pedicure chairs, even though the woman in question didn’t actually break her chair — she merely sat in it.
Oh, and Ms. Tan, here’s a statement from Phuong Le, general manager of LC Corp, who makes your chairs. You are a liar, have reprehensible business practices, and for your lack of contrition when faced with fa.

This place has horrible customer service. Kim Tran, the manager, charged an overweight woman an extra $ 5 for being overweight. Her excuse was that some chairs in the salon had been broken by overweight customers. However, she had no evidence that that particular customer broke any chairs. Although the $ 5 was eventually refunded, Tran told the customer to take her business elsewhere. This salon deserves to go out of business. It is not exceptable to discriminate against people, regardless of their body type.
I believe that any Unilocaler has a right to know that this place discriminates. You can decide for yourselves whether or not to check this place out anyway =)
