I came in here for lunch with a party of about 10 and where able to be seated pretty quickly. This restaurant does get busy during lunch but does not take reservation so get there early! I had the cornbread which comes in it’s own cast iron skillet and it was awesome! only $ 1.99 too! Also tried the chicken strips with mashed potatoes and broccoli cheese rice, very tasty! The wait staff was very accommodating for our large party.

Food is decent for what you expect from a chain restaurant, but what really bothered me was the service. The waiter we had kept calling myself(31 year old man) and my father(66 year old man) «Buddy» and«Bud». I do not think it is very professional to call your customers«Buddy». The management needs to pay better attention to how their staff talks to their customers.

Expected more of a personal atmosphere rather than a chain restaurant. Meal was ok, sweet potato fries were great. Probably not a stop I would make again, would rather experiece a local eatery.

Even though this is a comfort food place, our favorite item on the menu is the Cobb salad. It a large salad and all the ingredients are always fresh, plus they always cook the bacon nice and crispy the way we like it. We’ve tried the pot roast and chicken fried chicken dishes. While they were not bad, they lacked seasoning. I am a huge pot roast fan. Pot roast and mashed potatoes is my ultimate comfort dish. The pot roast was tender, but needed a bit more flavor. Same for the chicken fried chicken, the breading could have been seasoned more. Again, they were not bad so we will definitely try the other dishes on the menu. But, the cobb salad is a definite winner.

Unfortunately, this place has gone south. We had late lunch here over the weekend and everything was served luke warm or cold. The chicken and dumplings had virtually NO chicken, so we mentioned it to the waiter. He brought another plate which did have a little more chicken, but not like it used to have. There are too many other local places in the area to eat.

This place is really cute. I tried fried green tomatoes for the first time(I had to cause I love the movie). They were OK. Never having had them before I expected them to be sweeter. I also had the baha fish tacos and they were good. Nothing to write home about but all in all a solid lunch. I would try it again and try something else.

The catfish we ordered is almost inedible! The batter is full of little rock like crumbs. How did the chef prepare the fish? It is ridiculous!

Nice place to get dinner. Nothing that will make a best ever list but service and food were done right. Consistency is the name of the game and this location is on point.

Wow! In regards to quality of the food, it is a striking resemblance to what you might find in a shotgun Mississippi home! Ingredients are great and of-quality, the uniqueness of what is offered varied dish to dish, but the presentation is lacking. The best in town? Not sure, but it is definitely worth throwing it’s name in the hat! They offer great classics, along with wonderful spins on those classics. I had the meat loaf and chicken n dumplings. Meatloaf was incredible. Chicken n dumplings? Not so much, but better than most! Sweet tea is a steady flow and is great here!

I had the soup and half of a sandwich. The food was pretty good. The bartender was pretty cool. I asked for extra bacon in my potato soup, and he hooked me up. Decent place for lunch.

Zach was really nice and kept checking on us. He even picked up the straw wrappers for the drinks. The food was good and the steamed veggies were real fresh veggies, not the microwave type. Definitely coming back. Recommend this place for Southern food in the Vista Ridge area.

Sooo… Food is pretty good. Great family place. Its sorta the exact same thing as The Black Eyed Pea. The Cajun Duo and grilled pork chops are really good.

This little joint is a garden variety café. I did notice that there is no shortage of fried food. Luckily, I was able to find ample healthy choices to ensure I could feel better about eating 3 cornbread muffins with butter b4 lunch arrived. I could not stop, really. Good bread of any kind is a personal weakness. I have others too… [Run:/stop digressing and get to the point] Hey impulse control? Where were you when I needed you most? Vacation? I am not impressed. Anyway, I had a chicken salad that was flavorful but not remarkable. I can’t even remember the menu name. It is a few hours later. I know this: There was salad, chicken, and some other stuff with a vinaigrette. It filled me up and for under 10 bucks. Our server was slightly over attentive but pleasant. The staff all seemed hospitable and happy. I will go back, but probably never at dinner time.

This is my favorite seafood place all the time because this Cotton Patch Café location is right next door. I love coming here on Mondays as well since they have special menus for only $ 6.99. Their portion is HUGE! First time I had was fried catfish and grilled shrimp over fries and hushpuppies. Omg it was just $ 9.99 with two sides. It was such a huge portion, like it could have filled for two or three people. My boyfriend had grilled tilapia and crawfish over butter rice plus $ 2 more fore big four grilled shrimps. It came with two sides as well. Oh my goshh it was so yummy I really recommend! It got buttery flavor. They served us with dinner rolls while waiting for our yummy food. Nice atmosphere. It is a good place to hang out with family, friends, or even date night. Service was outstanding. We absolutely go back to try everything else on their menu. Good American food place so far.

**Take out alert!** This review is only on a take-out meal. Short version: The Cotton Patch Café has a terrific blackened tilapia to go with steamed broccoli… Loved it! My version: The Cotton Patch Café is located in Lewisville on 3040 just west of highway 35. Nice little place. Yesterday one of my friends who eats pretty healthy came back from here with a take-out order for blackened tilapia with steamed broccoli and she said it was wonderful. Well after hearing that I bookmarked on my Unilocal app. I called them using the phone number that the Unilocal app had provided me. The young lady took my order over the phone, told me that it would be ready in eight minutes. Jumped in my car, when I arrived, the hosts greeted at the door, showed me to the bar for the«to go» meals. I opened the container just to verify the order. I had to take a quick picture it looked great. The tilapia smelled incredible and the broccoli had a great look to it. I raced back to my office for a little work and lunch. It was terrific, the blackened tilapia had just the right amount of spices, not overly spiced and just melted in my mouth. Nice job chef! The steamed broccoli was wonderful also. They even remembered to through in some lemon wedges which I had asked for. When I called in the order, I asked to get it served as healthy as possible and they nailed it, and with great taste. Great job Cotton Patch Café! I will be back!
