CMNY Cakes

I needed a sweet 16 cake and it needed to be Harry Potter! The cake was absolutely stunning and all of the guests and most importantly the birthday were floored. Not only was the cake art but it was the most delicious cake I have ever tasted. Thank you CMNY cakes for perfection! I will recommend to everyone!

I have been using CMNY/​Mona’s cakes for my grandson Sterling even before he was born. (Baby Shower Cakes; Christening cake/​cup cakes, and Birthday cakes; this is just to name a few. Mona is so incredibly talented, and her cakes look exactly like the real thing. CMNY made a Transformers Optimus Prime Truck Cake for my grandson Sterling’s 5^th birthday July 05, 2015. The cake looked absolutely Stunning and it was delicious too!!! Everyone Loved the cake as always. The cake looked so real that some children keep trying to play with the cake, thinking it was a truck. Some of the adults thought it was a real truck as well; and took pictures to show family and friends. CMNY/​Mona Thank You for your outstanding services!!! I would highly recommend CMNY/​Mona cakes!!! My family and I are customers for life!!!

I ordered my baby shower cake from CMNY and was floored by the quality. I met with Mona for a consultation and brought my baby shower invitation to show her the theme I wanted. She went above and beyond to stay true to details and color. We had a taste test and I chose vanilla cake with hazelnut ganache. It was amazing. The day of the shower it was delivered without a hitch in a timely fashion. Everyone raved about that cake. It was beautiful and delicious and I would recommend them time and again.

I was at a baby shower in Brooklyn yesterday and they served a cake from this bakery… Definitely the best cake I ever had… cannot wait to have an event so I can order from here… Best cake ever!

Wonderful experience from A to Z. We’ve had our share of great expensive cakes made for us, but this was a very special cake and it was actually delicious! Easy and smooth communication with Mona from day one, adequate price, timely delivery, attention to all our suggestions and concerns — A+. Highly recommended!

While visiting my sister in New York last month, I needed a cake for her 30^th Birthday party. The one thing I knew was that it had to look and taste good. I looked up cakes and found good reviews on Unilocal and thought I would give CMNY cakes a shot. I spoke to Mona, who was really helpful and knowledgeable and helped me pick out a cake design and gave me recommendations, all over the phone! Talk about easy peasy! She made it so easy to order over the phone and make recommendations regarding the flavors and fillings that I trusted her blindly (what else could I do-​being from Chicago, I had to take that leap of faith!). She asked me for favorites and preferences and we decided on a marble cake with chocolate ganache layers and a chocolate hazelnut buttercream frosting (being the chocoholic my sister and I are!).
On the big day, the cake was delivered on time with no issues. Everyone was raving about the cake and loved it! The flavors were rich and each bite made you crave for more. We got so many of our guests asking us where we got the cake from, it was ridiculously amazing! I would definitely recommend them to anyone, since the service from the beginning to the end was excellent and the cake delicious!

I used to work here and know that the owner will make up new email accounts to post false reviews all the time. Other times, the owner’s friends will have a party and they’ll write a review for the owner. Don’t believe everything you read here.
I can tell you that if the supervisor who works on the cakes drops a piece of fondant dough on the floor, he’ll pick it up and put it back on the cake. The icing is just solid Crisco vegetable shortening with Domino’s confectioner’s sugar. The owner Mona, also employs many unpaid interns to do the dirt work when they don’t want to pay people.

Beautifully designed cakes

This place was awesome. Mona & Ro were great with helping me pick a design for the cake. The cake looked beautiful and tasted great (yellow cake w/​cream cheese filling). They are expensive but it was worth it.

I plan events for a living (for over 10 years) so I’m no spring chicken in this department.
I am so very disappointed in CMNY Cakes. I’m in the process of planning a surprise birthday party. Two days ago I had a tasting with CMNY Cakes. The owner gave the tasting. She doesn’t give any inspiration or direction. You have to come with your own ideas. Nor is she very enthusiastic. I felt like I was at a doctor’s appointment and not tasting cake. Come on… this should be fun and exciting! Regardless of her lame disposition, their portfolio is impressive so I told them that I would be placing my order tomorrow morning as soon as I finalized some details. I literally just had to decide between vanilla or passionfruit icing and I couldn’t decide on the spot. I specifically asked if they have availability for my date and they said «yes, your date is open.»
The next morning (less than 24 hours), I placed my order and all of a sudden, they were too booked to handle my order. They didn’t even reach out to me to deliver the news. They only revealed this to me after I placed my order. I feel extremely misled and as though they wasted my time.
Yes, CMNY Cakes may make pretty cakes but they need to be more forthright in their business.

I ordered a Harry Potter cake that completely exceeded my expectations. I asked for something I saw on the internet and it was better. Everyone was wowed! The added bonus was that it tasted so great. (vanilla) One of the best tasting cakes I have ever had for a party. A little expensive, but comparable to other places really.
I cannot comment on the bakery, cleanliness etc. They delivered to NYC in a snowstorm on time. I will definitely go back.

Okay, don’t expect to be thrifty here, but be prepared to be indulged in the best possible cake you’ve ever had. Yes their cakes can be pretty pricey (think a few hundred dollars), but you get what you pay for.
I cannot comment as to the bad service that other fellow Unilocalers have had as I was not the one who purchased the cake, but I was amazed at the sheer detail of the cake. We got a 3-​tier Kai-​lan cake that was just immacuately designed, colorful and bright, from the small figures of Kai and her friends, to the meticulous placement of all the flowers placed on the cake. It’s one of those cakes where you could really appreciate the artistic abilities and you may even question yourself if this is a cake to eat or for show. But not only was it detailed but the marble cake tasted amazingly good, light but not too airy complimented with just the right amount of buttercream filling. Delightful, and I honestly have not had a better slice of cake for quite some time.
