I enjoy coming here on a friday or saturday night. I’m not a sports fan, but that doesn’t put me off from coming to this sports bar — it isn’t filled with a bunch of meatheads and their food is always great. Their menu has something for everyone. They have some of the best truffle fries around and I’m a big fan of their fish tacos. They also have great burgers, boneless wings, and their meatballs are fantastic as well.

Really enjoyed everything about Mazcots. We had 7 of us including kids on a Saturday night. It was busy, but you wouldn’t have known it. Our drink order was taken right away and came quick. The staff is very attentive and makes sure you aren’t left waiting for anything. I was surprised how fast the food came given the restaurant was full. Everything was excellent and it was clear everything was fresh. Others had burgers and buffalo chicken sandwiches which they loved. I had the salmon burger and will definitely have it again when in town. It had a slight crab cake type flavor and larger than expected. The fries are excellent. The beer selection was great with a good variety of local breweries like Big Elm, Barrington, and Berkshire Brewing along with the bigger names. Mike, the owner, was walking around the whole time and checked on every table personally to make sure they were happy. He also helped bus tables and deliver food. He didn’t need to as the staff was on top of everything, but they seemed to appreciate the help. If you want a sports bar feel with great, fresh pub food it is worth stopping in.

I didn’t love Mazcots, and I would not recommend it to a friend. We went there after a long day of skiing because it was close to our hotel and seemed to have the right sort of casual, American food vibe that we were looking for. The place isn’t horrible, I just didn’t find it to be all that great.(We found the Old Forge to be a MUCH better alternative the following night) We had to wait a few minutes for a table, which is no big deal. It’s just that there is no waiting area, so you are just standing there amidst the tables with your coats on looking awkward while everyone else glances at you. I just found that to be a bit strange. I got the impression that Mazcots wants to be an adult destination and the fact that we were with a tween and a teen caused us to be shunted off to the kids room. It’s not really a kids room, but it did seem to be the only place with families with kids… at least at that time. This back room was also oppressively hot due to the large fire place. Normally a fire place like this would be a big plus, but there just didn’t seem to be enough ventilation or something. Our waiter was pleasant and friendly, but the food itself wasn’t that great. Two disappointing stand outs at our table were the pulled pork sandwich and the kid’s pizza. The pulled pork was really watery for some reason, and it wasn’t all mixed up with barbecue sauce like I’ve usually had it. The add a dollop of house-made sauce on the top and call it a day. The sauce wasn’t great. I don’t understand the myth that«home made» is always better than store bought. It’s kind of a sub-set of the Naturalistic Fallacy. The kids pizza was an attempt at the cracker crust ultra-thin pizza that is all the rage now. It just seemed to be a blob of cheese on a tortilla or something. It just wasn’t appealing to a kid who normally tears through a pizza. They do have a couple of pool tables, which seemed pretty nice. I could imagine hanging out there with some friends having some beers I guess. Overall, it’s just sort of a bland place with average to below average food. I hate to say that as they seemed really nice, but there are definitely some improvements to be made.

Great food and good service. I have never walked out of here disappointed. The beer selection is extensive. The menu is not too big so they can focus on the dishes but still has a good variety. It’s a great place to catch a game on the tv. The food is tasty and not bland and I love the fries!

Very impressed with the customer service here. Waitresses, managers, busboys, and cooks alike making every effort to please their clients. Food and beer was great with enough TVs for everyone to watch the big games. If I was local, I’d be here often. Highly recommended.

Had a great experience here when a few friends brought us for lunch. Must try our their fresh moz balls. They are all homemade !!! And you can get any sandwich on the menu… As long as it’s served with their fresh moz!!! I had their cappacola special, my wife had their meatball sandwich, and our friends both had the eggplant Parmesan sandwiches. Everything was awesome! Good food and a great beer selection.

When I went here, my foods texture was as if it were microwaved. It did not taste or feel fresh made at all. Some of the sport nuts got a little rowdy as well(in aware it is a sports bar, but they were over the top). Probably won’t go here again.

Great place! Service was awesome! Waitress checked up on us more times than necessary! We were the first people in the restaurant when it opened and it filled up quick so I guess it must get pretty busy at night and stuff. I ordered a burger and boy it was good! Awesome place probably a nice place for all the locals for Pats games

I visited Mazcots on the way home from the Berkshires with my father and boyfriend. We were greeted by a waitress that told us to choose any seat we liked, so we chose a big comfy booth in the back. I love the interior of the restaurant and all of the New England sports teams décor they chose. It wasn’t tacky at all which sports bars tend to be sometimes, it was very clean, and I could tell a lot of attention do detail was given in this place when they decorated. The booths were upholstered with dark leather and even the placemats were a thick suede/leather-like material which stood out to me. Very elegant touch! Service was quick. Though our waitress was attentive, she seemed like she didn’t want to be there and didn’t care to hide it. I don’t think she smiled once the entire time we were there. She was very to-the-point and I got the vibe that she just wanted her shift to be over. I ordered an Italian sandwich which had tomato, mozzarella, basil, prosciutto and olive oil. It was delicious and I could tell the ingredients were fresh. I had the Asiago truffle fries in place of the normal chips for a few dollars more. The fries themselves were shoestring fries which I’m not much of a fan of, but the truffle flavor was strong so that made up for it! All in all, it was a good meal I just wish the waitress was more welcoming. I would go back if I was in the area.

Good place for good meal. I ordered wings, and a 8″ pizza. I expected regular wings as most places serve but I could tell that this place made their own sauce as it had an extra added kick to them which I really enjoyed. When the pizza arrived I was expecting a regular pizza crust. It came on a cracker crust which disappointed me at first but then I ate it and it was delicious and left me full and satisfied. Large TV’s at the bar and an attentive staff. The price was average as expected. I would go back,

Stopped here with friends after a geocaching event in the area. Whenever I encounter a «sports bar» my expectations for food and service aren’t very high. Mazcots surprised on all levels. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was beyond my expectations. I ordered the buffalo wings as an appetizer and loved the sauce, but the wings were a bit overcooked(the only disappointment of the evening). The shrimp«Po boy» however was fabulous. Crunchy, but juicy shrimp served with a garlicky sauce that was excellent. Even though it was the sort of sandwich I usually wolf down, I had to eat this one slowly and savor every bite. Whenever I eat out with a group, there always seems to be someone who is disappointed with their meal. That wasn’t the case here. Most ordered various versions of the thin crust pizza and all were pleased. A friend who ordered a burger said it was very good. As far as the beer selection, maybe I’m asking a bit much out of a place like this, but it could have been better. I understand that a «sports bar» needs to have plenty of the Buds, Millers and Coors(especially the«lights») on tap and a good portion of the draught menu is taken up by them. However there were some real gems on the list, including some local brews. As a sports bar I give them points for trying. I’m not sure if it was the owner or manager, but whichever he was, he stopped by every table to make sure the diners were satisfied. As a bonus I got to watch the US destroy Cuba 5-nil in a Gold Cup match(I would have been very disappointed had they struggled to beat Cuba, as they often do with lesser teams). If you are into sports and want some good food, this is the place to go. The food is also good enough to please most people who aren’t there for the sports.

We stopped here for a quick lunch while on a road trip. For 2:00PM on a Saturday, this place was hoppin’ so we decided to give it a try. Atmosphere: Typical bar and grill place with a large bar and equally as big seating area. There were ample TVs to cover all of your Saturday games and the place was very clean and well organized. They also had a local musician playing, which was a nice touch. Staff and service: Despite how busy they were, the waitresses were very friendly. Food and drinks came out in reasonable time. Food and brews: Wide selection of bottles and drafts. We had a local Barrington Brewery pale ale, which was very good. We ended up ordering –French Onion soup was AWESOME. It was hot, very nicely flavored, had a ton of cheese, and flavorful bread mixed in. This is exactly what you want when you order a French onion soup. –Sirloin chili was really good too. Thick and flavorful with a nice kick to it. –Italian panini was a pleasant surprise. The eggplant was perfectly marinated and the roasted red peppers, arugula, and mozzarella made for an amazing combination. The house made potato chips were delicious too! If you are in the area, I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Mike Mazzeo has done a great job at this local sports bar. The layout is great for watching a game, catching up at the bar with friends, or dining in with family. You initially enter through the bar area which has ample bar seating & hi-tops. They also have ample beers on tap for you to choose from, and you won’t miss minute of any sporting event with the positioning of there flat screens. There is also a separate dining room if you want to get away from the bar area. The food itself is great. They offer a wide variety of pub favorites including pizzas. We really enjoyed our meal, although the steak & cheese sandwich could use a bit more steak. That really is our only knock though. The Wally burger was fantastic. They really pay attention to every detail which includes a delicious, lightly toasted bun. The house made fries are great, but the highlight for us was the crispy shrimp appetizer. Four large shrimp lightly fried, almost tempura style. Crispy outside with tender, tasty shrimp on inside. I also applaud Mazcots for having just the right balance of Boston sports memorabilia without forgetting there are other teams, cities & states out there. I do love my Boston sports, but some places in Mass overdue it. This place will be a regular stop for me on my trips back to the Berkshires.
