This place has always perplexed me. I live down the street from it and no matter the time of day — morning, noon, or night — the parking lot is PACKED. This former Paddy O’Quigley’s is now«BrewTop» — and is one of the busiest restaurants/bars in Lee’s Summit. The 2-story patio on the west side of the facility overlooks a beautiful subdivision and lake and surrounded by beauty — and tons of parking. I am not the bar type, nor the bar food type, so I never thought I would actually find such a welcoming, diverse menu in a self proclaimed pub. The menu goes on for several pages and includes salads, appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. I was thrilled to see several vegetarian options, including a sew salads, a veggie burger, and a veggie wrap. Got the later and ate it up — delicious. We also enjoyed several appetizers — including fried pickles and fried pepper jack cheese squares! My tummy couldn’t have asked for much more :) The others at my table enjoyed their food and many had more than enough to take home. The facility was clean, though the black paint on the walls and closed window curtains make it rather dark, sans the DOZENS of big-screen T.V.‘s. Our waitress was kind and fun to talk with. However, I think it’s safe to say that our Sunday afternoon encounter can not represent a typical Friday or Saturday night here… I’ll stick with the daytime shift and will be back.

This establishment has been under several different owners and is now Brew Top. Brew Top serves great burgers. All start with fresh(not frozen) beef. The hand made patties are 2⁄3 pound… nice big serving! My favorite so far is the Black & Blue Burger. Nicely seasoned and covered with blue cheese. It’s a great marriage of flavors. The Texas Tenderloin is hand cut, pounded thin and breaded before frying. It’s a huge sandwich and tastes great. It may not be Irish, but it’s a great place for a good sandwich and a cold brew.

About as Irish as one of the Pesci family, «Patty O’s», as the frat crowd and«we were a-listers in high school» like to call it, is your typical Friday and Saturday night get blitzed hall, not a lot more than a huge room with an expensive bar and lots of tables. If poorly mixed music and the cookie cutter scene in wild suburbia is your thing then belly up.
