American Garage

The American Garage is the inventive creation of Russell DiMaggio with the support and backing of business mogul, Charlie Arnone. Their dream in creating the Garage was to open a welcoming space in the downtown Lee’s Summit neighborhood for people to come with their friends and enjoy outstanding food and cocktails.
The Garage became a sensational spot to have a mouth watering burger and a beer to wash it down. It is an affordable, casual place that will take you a few visits to take everything in and by then our fun loving and energetic staff will have won your heart. We offer weekly bike nights, car shows, daily specials, and free live music. Not to mention we are the only bar in the area to be made out of a working garage and have the automotive and motorcycle theme as its very pulse.
So you have officially been treed by the arm drop… Hurry up and get here!!!

We were actually headed to another place in downtown Lee’s Summit to grab a drink & an app & we heard live music! We decided to follow it & found this place! We loved it! We had seen this fun biker bar & I wondered if we would fit in or not since we are far from a biker in appearance, but we were very welcomed there. When we left the waitress told us who would be playing next week & hoped to see us back. Very nice & good service. They do have great drink specials, but we are kind of beer snobs & top shelf drinkers so we didn’t partake of those. On Tuesdays, when they have live outdoor music, they also have $.99 tacos that were good, but a bit greasy… ok a lot greasy, but they were still really good. They also had some really good salsa that tasted like it was house made. We also had the fried pickles that were very good with some good ranch dressing & I’m ranch picky to say the least. The only reason I didn’t give this place give stars is because when we first got there we couldn’t find a seat outside to listen to the music which was the reason we came. It would not be that hard to rearrange the regular outdoor seating to put a couple more tables in & on the nights they have live music to put some folding chairs & tables out in the front area near the band. Otherwise this place is great! So don’t let the 8,000 Harley’s outside deter you from going, because it was a great little bar in Lee’s Summit that I would suggest trying!

I come down here with my dog and enjoy sitting outside and watch the games. The food is great and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. If you come down to down town Lees Summit you should check it out!!! Especially if your an old car buff, they have decorated it like an old garage. Oh, and they have a cool bike night on Tuesday nights!!!

The weather was pretty poor on the day that we visited this bar, so I would like to have another crack at it on a sunny day (beer is best served on a patio). American Garage is a new bar in a re-​purposed auto repair shop, and it is conveniently located in the downtown area of Lee’s Summit. The décor is pretty neat — there is some great vintage auto-​themed signage and lighting. The beer selections were fine, and the food was standard bar fare (wings, sandwiches, and the like). We were informed that there was a bar fight the previous night — I hope this is not a common occurrence as rowdies can really ruin a good bar vibe.
They do have well-​placed television sets for sports viewing.
This is definitely a place for gearheads and bikers (alas, I fit into neither group). Still, I found the place entertaining and in a good location. I will be returning to have a drink on the patio at some point this summer. I have heard they have some great live music and look forward to seeing that as well.
