Food was absolutely AMAZING but the service was horrific. Our waiter had really bad breath and it was very off putting. Once we were seated we got menus and ordered, no problem. One appetizer and 1 dish, And then we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Literally waited for over 20 minutes for our food. We got the appetizer and entrée at the same time. Then nobody came by our table again! for half an hour. No water refills, how is your food, do you need anything, nothing. We were done eating and waited several several minutes for the check. Finally our waiter came by and asked if we were ready for the check. We say yes, he disappears for another 10 minutes. I could see other people looking around with the same expressions. Seemed like everyone was confused about what their job was. 0⁄10 for customer service. When we left, the girl at the front counter was texting. I had to get up and hunt down my own napkins and fork. We were running around Leavenworth all day and were thirsty but got no water refills. I also thought the prices were too high for the portion sizes. Don’t go here if you want to be in and out in less than an hour.

Second time here. Don’t ask me why. Slow service, mediocre food, overpriced. The other mexican place in leavenworth is better. And less pretentious.

Ok… I gave 4 stars last time, and want to say right up front that the good here is delicious… some of the best in town. We had absolutely THE worst service this visit. Julie, our server was exceptionally slow… but had time to wonder around aimlessly. Our drinks sat at the bar for 15 mins before we flagged down another server and asked if we could get them ourselves. Julie then went to get the drinks and was seen playing with the straws in the drinks — right after bussing a dirty table. Very gross and unsanitary. When we told her we didn’t want the drinks and explained why she said«so you don’t want anything then.». We asked for new drinks. She didn’t come back to our table again until it was time pay. Another server brought our food — thank you for that. We didn’t get a single refill on water or anything after that. Very disappointed. I’m summarizing the entire experience to keep brief. The restaurant really should not have this woman work until she has been to a food safety class and customer service training. THEVERYWORSTSERVICE I’VEEVERHADAT A RESTAURANT.

This has been our go to restaurant every time we visit Leavenworth however this was by far the absolute worst service I’ve experienced. Seated quickly then it went downhill from there. 15 min for our waitress to even acknowledge us. After Juli took our orders, we then and we watched our drinks sit on the bar ready to be served for 15 min while Juli bussed tables. At this point she realizes we may want our drinks and sets down a dirty glass, picks up a straw and starts stirring our drinks with a straw she touched with dirty hands from bussing tables. Apparently hand washing isn’t on her radar. Since we watched this happen we went to bar to say something and she didn’t get it! The bartender told her not to touch the straws, she did it again and then served them. I asked for another drink she said oh you don’t want one? Umm not the one she touched with dirty hands. No drink refills through entire meal No water refills through entire meal Went and grabbed water pitcher and filled our own glasses. The food was ok.

My husband and I are vegan and generally, Mexican food is easy to veganize and find options. South didn’t disappoint here. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about what we could and couldn’t eat. She pointed out that the guacamole has sour cream– so dairy allergies/vegans be ware! That was disappointing and ultimately knocked them down a star in my rating because guac is key and I missed it. We ordered the Sweet Potato Enchilada plate and the veggie burrito in a bowl. She wasn’t sure if there was dairy in the wrap. I found out the corn pudding that comes with the Sweet Potato dish had egg so I opted not to have that and just had a side of black beans. Our food was delicious and fresh and we both enjoyed it. If you’re vegan, I recommend this place. Just ask questions and stay away from the guac. Oh, and the salsa bar is great!

I would share a picture, if I could. We ate it all before we had a chance :). Delicious, authentic, friendly service. Try the grilled corn and a cucumber margarita, it’s a must!

Yummy yummy! We started with the chip sampler that you get half fresh corn chips and half flour with 3 dips: guacamole, black bean and pablano. Then we split the chicken Puebla enchiladas and tres leches cake. Everything was fantastic, service was awesome. We visited Leavenworth over memorial day weekend so be prepared to have a hard time with parking and navigating crowds. Cheers!

Came here the other day and got some food to go and while our food was waiting to be cooked we had some drinks in the bar and man the drinks are strong and no I’m not complaining. I was drunk when I left and I’m not complaining yet again hahahaha I got the spicy shrimp burrito and it was so big buuuut $ 16 is a little steep but it was definitely good. my fiancé got the carne asada quesadilla and I will say $ 20 is way too expensive for how small the meal was(I noticed another Unilocaler said the thing) our bill was about $ 70 for 2 shots 2 drinks and 2 meals… yikes. I will say I probably won’t be here again only because of the prices. However the food was great, the service was great… it’s cool that you can get your own salsa. Nice décor etc

My friend and I went to levanworth on a day trip, and this spot was on the list of places to eat. I noticed that lately there were mixed reviews on the service. We came with more than two hours to go until closed… we were promptly greeted at the door, and I thought surely this is going to go well. We requested outside seating, and provided water by the host. As we looked over the menu many questions came up(our very first time) and we had no one to answer them. We watched the same four people come in and out the patio door, we watched the couple behind us finish their meal, pay, and leave… and even by that point no one had offered to get us a drink, or even see if we were ok at our table. At this point we spent thirty minutes looking lost with our menus. I went inside to see if I could locate a server who WANTED to serve us… the patio staff were standing at the bar and one of the servers(we were actually sitting in her section anyway) «offered» to take our table, after that service was good, but by the time we ordered there wasn’t much time before close, and the server, informed us that if we wanted entrees then we had to order quickly… at this point tje kitchen was about to start offering the limited menu(convenient, I know) so we quickly made our choices the humongous burrito, and a simple cheese and chicken appetizer. The burrito was absolutely amazing, and cooked perfectly. The ratio of meat, rice, and pinto beans was perfect. It’s flavorful, but not spicy; I added salsa to it for an extra kick. Over all my food was great, and the basil margaritas were out of this world. Service started off horrible at the table, but got better through the visit. If you’re going to go, I’d say go early in the evening, or even for lunch.

Our first time to try this hidden gem. The Sweet Potato Enchilada Plate caught my eye, although it is nothing like what I would normally order. Turns out it was the best decision of my day so far. It was excellent! Rounded out our order with the Carnitas — also excellent. Customer service is obviously a priority and plenty of smiles to go around to make this restaurant a top stop for Mexican food when visiting Leavenworth. We will be back, thank you so much!

Chips were very hardy; and the mini taco was flavorful. To bad they didn’t provide free chips and salsa, like other Mexican restaurants. The place was extremely loud.

Great food, service, and atmosphere. A must if you enjoy Mexican/Latin food. It was so good for dinner we went back for lunch the next day before heading out of town. The Monster Wet Burrito is very filling, definitely a shared item if you want to function after. The Burrito Bowls are a great option for one person, as well as the taco plate. All the ingredients seemed fresh, well flavored, and balanced. Carnitas, and pulled pork were delicious for fillings, but if you want a little more flavor, the Pork al Pastor was great. This could be a spot that I could easily eat at at least once a week. Great job to the owners and staff for raising the bar.

We were starving and looking forward to some good Mexican food. We were ignored for quite some time when we walked thru the door. They’re was a family in line in front of us that said they had already been there 10 minutes. We had a large party and waited an expected amount of time for a table after we were finally acknowledged, but once we were seated, we waited a long time for water, and chips. You are expected to get your own salsa from the«salsa bar», bit they only have tiny ramekins to fill. So needless to say it takes 20 trips to the salsa bar to have enough salsa. We watched several people walk in and wait at the front desk, and then leave, because they were never acknowledged. After waiting again for our food to arrive we were looking forward to digging in. …but everything. .EVERYMEAL(we ordered 6 meals) were incredibly dry. We had high hopes after reading their menu. …but left throwing out most all of our entrees. Definitely won’t be back. Highly disappointed.

We used to eat here every time we came by Leavenworth but this time around we were pleasantly surprised that there was no line. We always recall there being lines out the door. Anyway, it looks like they must have raised the prices since we last came here. A dish that used to cost maybe $ 14 was now $ 20 – and the amount and quality of the food really doesn’t justify the steep price. We still like the food, the drinks are great, but the prices just don’t justify what you get(except the drinks – the double strawberry margarita was worth every penny). We might come back for drinks but we’ll probably eat somewhere else next time.

The place is pretty much where it’s at. I have literally gotten in my car and driven from Seattle, across the mountains, just to eat here and turn around again.(Okay, I make a stop at the Bubblery, too.) I have never had anything bad here: tacos, enchiladas, soups, mission burritos, and the burrito in a bowl. I always get the chip sampler which comes with three different, very fresh, dips/salsas. If you’ve never tried it, I don’t understand you. Order it, go get more salsas from the salsa bar, and have a party. It’s fresh — my in-laws make their own salsas, tortillas, and tortilla chips from those tortillas. They tried each salsa, before we even got our food, and said they knew this was going to be good because the salsas were so fresh. It was like they were just made(and they likely were). It was mission burritos all around, chicken, carnitas, and two pulled pork. Mine, was a burrito in a bowl(which is my go-to now). They took one bite — «Wow.» They don’t skimp on ANYTHING. If you want meat, come here. I also ordered us some of their homemade strawberry soda, which is pretty much an aguas fresca with fizz. But again, it was so fresh, and bright, with strawberry chunks… and it complemented the meal so well. This is my favorite«latin»(not Mexican, they say) restaurant… probably anywhere. Tip: if you see a line, and they’re packed out the door(usually on the weekends), don’t worry. The wait time they project is always pretty off(it’ll be about 40 minutes — no, it was 15. It’ll be half an hour — actually, it was less than 10). I know this cause I always run into the Bubblery or look for a geocache while waiting, and they always call us back right away. Also, tip: Eat outside if it’s nice out. There’s just a different feel back there, and when it’s really busy, it’s like a private party.

Vibrant, invigorating favors with unexpected and deliciously fresh ingredients. Great options for vegetarians. It was busy when we arrived, so we had a seat at the bar and were seated quickly. My drink was a phenomenal margarita with fresh minced jalapeño peppers. Our appetizer was crispy salty green beans with a flash of lime, which were enthusiastically gobbled up. My entrée of butternut squash enchiladas with black beans was creamy without being heavy, squashy without being sweet and served with an eggy zucchini fritter that was custardy and delicious. The beans were well seasoned and cooked just right. My partners tacos were served with some really exceptional Peruvian beans, which are uncommon in restaurants and were prepared with delicious herbs and spices. The cabbage slaw was fresh and lively. A welcome respite from doughy sausagey Leavenworth.

Great food. Delicious drinks. Gorgeous patio behind the restaurant. Using the alley entrance, we were allowed to have our dog with us. They even had a bowl of water waiting for her at our table. My margarita was decent. The homemade chips & guac were very good. I had the steak & fries. My pup loved the fries(they were pretty good). I keep struggling between posting a 4 or a 5. Our waitress wasn’t overly knowledgeable about the dishes & we spent more than we had planned, but damn, the food was so good. I also didn’t really care for how the waitress kept referring to the help-yourself salsa bar. It was just a table top inside with three salsas & teeny tiny containers to help yourself with. But… OMG the salsa was good.

Stopped by South to grab a quick snack before leaving Leavenworth. The food is good, but the portions are small for the price. I think it would have been really pricey for dinner, but I guess tourists have to eat! Two of us shared three tacos, they were good. Not sure if they are worth the cost anywhere else though! Its nice to have salsa with your meal, but no one will tell you there is a salsa bar unless you ask or eavesdrop like we had to!
