This community cupboard serves the Leavenworth community in many ways. It is a food bank, thrift store, and resource for emergency assistance for residents of the Upper Valley area. It is sustained by donations of food, merchandise, and volunteers as well as financial contributions. I am a part time resident of Leavenworth and Seattle, and try to give regularly through donations of articles and cash when I can. I just had to leave this review after reading the unfair review of the visitor looking for a deal! The merchandise changes all the time, so if you are looking for something unique or seasonal stop by often!

This joint is weak! I was told to go here by another store in the Bavarian village, so thought it was worth checking out. They get one star for it being a community kitchen, but it’s retracted because they don’t take cards. So, they’re back to zero. They are WAY over priced for a thrift shop, ESP being a thrift shop that caters to those needing a community kitchen/thrift store …(For poor folks 4 – 9 $$ on a pair of jeans is a rip off. I should know, having been near homelessness(when I was young and single) in the past. Spending that much on pants means missing a meal.) They carry certain styles of clothes from the 80’s and 90’s that no one wore. Ever. Even during that era. And here they’re in abundance. Jeez. While here I noticed a woman shopping with her kids, I advised her to check out the goodwill outlet in Seattle where items are sold by the pound. She seemed only able to afford a few items at the costs they were asking, the mother was grateful for the information I shared. Monthly/a few annual trips to said goodwill outlet in Seattle should be tried, so lower income families can be allowed more selection at a much better cost and they keep their integrity not having to wear 20 year old rejected wears. That would be a good use of community funds. Such a waste of time. Steer clear.
