I can’t believe they closed this location down. We went here at least 3 or 4 times a month. I love their seafood fondue. We always got their fried shrimp. It was so good. We will miss you Sudies!

Not impressed. Food was very mediocre and when we came out, my truck was broken in to. Management had nothing to say or offer. «Awe hell naw»!

The food here is great. The service was HORRIFIC! No one even acknowledged that it took someone 16 minutes just to acknowledge that I was there and that was only after I got someone’s attention by using a hand gesture. This was the second time I was there. The first experience was nice, but the second experience made a lasting impression. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go back. Again, the food was great though.

We love this place! Only wish there was still one near us in The Woodlands. Catfish is cooked perfectly with a cornmeal batter, fresh and flavorable. Coleslaw is good and just about everything on the menu is good except the gumbo. Nobody makes gumbo like my own. On Sunday, bring your church bulletin for a discount. The Senior meal is a great value and plenty of food. Love it here.

I was slightly disappointed when I had to seat my self, but my impression quickly changed with the friendly service and amazing food. It was Cajun home cooking. I will definitely go back!!!

First off service was terrible once arrived. Me and my girlfriend were seated in the bar area. We both asked for the specials advertised on board and we were told by the waitress we dont have any ingredients to make your cocktails. The bartender was extremely rude so then we were seated in the main dining area. We ordered the crawfish which was very bland nothing to brag about. We then recieved our main dishes the special steak for ten dollars and the mahi fish platter. The steak was terrible tasted like a flip flop and the vegatables tasted like they were from a can. The fish didnt taste fresh and the vegatables once again from a can. The waitress was terrible on checking on to see if we needed refills for our drinks or to check to see if we needed anything else. Overall horrible experience we both were extremely sick from our food later that evening. We wont be returning to Sudies.

Crawfish exceeded my expectations! Very flavorful, well spiced. I would’ve given it 5 stars but the service kind of sucked.

Oh my effing awful! Kraft macaroni and cheese out of the box cold. I ask you waitron unit. «Dust thou serve macaroni and cheese» unto which ye reply«Indeed we do» and behold — you present unto me — your ///boxed — cold attempt at a catfish side dish standard. You have a kitchen with a chef in it making something out of a box! May I have some more tea? I’m getting thirsty over here banging my head on the wall. I’m still wallowing in my disappointment from my experience with«The Worlds Greatest Catfish“n!- feck I like tarter sauce with my catfish. I asked the waiter, the food expo and the manger for some. By the time it arrived my stomach was turning from the something or other spinach artichoke cancer gut appetizer. The carpet stunk and my chair was sticky and I am sorry I wasted some of my life. So glad I got that off my chest. Sysco trucks are ruining my life! And another thing. The tarter sauce was awful. It was like miracle whip with chopped pickle? But miracle whip… Strange. Defiantly not the best catfish I have ever had(zero flavor and cold like the waiter, the food expo and the manger who never brought me some of her nasty tarter sauce while leaning on the counter drinking out of a styrofoam cup)! Don’t go here. I might never be the same. Wake up people!

I am from New Orleans so I like having a place that reminds me of home, but at the same time I’m kinda picky — I think the food is good and I enjoy the atmosphere — I suggest the locals try it out!

Food is decent. The hushpuppies are very bland. The shrimp on the Étouffée were very small. This was our first visit a learned this is best for large parties. They get seated quickly. Waiting for a 2 person table took us about 30min. Couple of large parties walked in after and sat down immediately. Service and speed of food was pretty good.

This location, like the other I’ve dined at, is just as good and maybe, just maybe, ever so slightly better because of one small thing: this location serves roast corn and shrimp chowder daily. The only time is isn’t served is when they run out. Why does roast corn and shrimp chowder make this location rock? Try it and see. The roasted corn has a full bodied flavor that when mixed with the creaminess of the chowder and freshness of the shrimp really makes this chowder pop in taste. It’s comforting, warming, delicious and addictive. After finding out the chowder was only available as a special and not on any given day at the other Sudie’s location, we came here to see what this dish was all about. It turned out to be a good decision on our parts. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a fancy restaurant, Sudies, with its paper table cloths and down home country décor. If you want fancy, go elsewhere. If you want some excellent fried catfish and other seafood not to mention the crave-worthy chowder, then come here. The fried catfish meets the standards that makes Sudie’s so good. The hush puppies are crisp with a moist inside and great flavor. I’m also partial to the green beans that are cooked with bacon for that extra bit of indulgent yum factor. As far as appetizers go, it’s hard to beat the fried mushrooms. Other notable menu items are the fried oysters, baked seafood items(quite flavorful) and of course the bread pudding with its rich caramel-y sauce and smooth texture. The bake potato, while very good, had a little too much butter. Still, it was nothing to complain about. The service is very friendly and attentive without being pesky like. Everyone from the hostess, servers and register lady were very warm and welcoming. We will return here for the roast corn and shrimp chowder. Definitely. With good service, excellent fried catfish and that chowder, we look forward to it.

Okay, so this is odd, but I actually work here. I love working at Sudies because of the friendly people and awesome customers and even regulars. I also work the bar sunday 12 – 6 and we have drink specials all day, everyday! We also have ½ price appetizers in the bar during all football games, which is an awesome deal! I never even really liked catfish too much until I started working here, omg the catfish is to die for! Fried catfish, blackened catfish, it’s all good! The blackened catfish cozumel is amazing and mouth watering! Any entrees to try would be the shrimp trio, catfish(any style), fried shrimp, crawfish ettoufee, and of course our snowcrab and rajun cajun shrimp combo spiced just right with corn and potatoes. Our amazing appetizers, number one of all, the seafood fondue and fried green tomatoes are a must! We promote friendly and fast service, and a casual, fun, family dining experience for all guests. Don’t ever leave without our HOMEMADE desserts: bread pudding, banana pudding, key lime pie, cobbler(peach or blackberry), it’s all good!!! *trust me* Y’all come & see for yourselves! Hope y’all enjoy!

Quite simply… Yummmmm!!! This is hands-down my most favorite food in the world! Everything there is to offer has so much flavor packed in every single bite, esp. My favorite… The catfish Cozumel which includes some homemade pico in a creamy sauce with shrimp and crawfish added on top of blackened catfish! To die for! The rice pilaf as a side is wonderful addition. During crawfish season, everyone I know agrees that they have absolutely the best flavor! The creamy corn chowder is hearty with just the right amount of spice! I just love everything! I do not often go out to eat because most restaurants have mediocre food I can just make at home for a portion of the price, but not Sudies! I simply just cannot replicate the flavors! My one complaint: they do not have those incredible blackened shrimp tacos anymore! Bring them back please!!!

OK its a overpriced seafood place. I got a burger that had the consistency of a tire. If you like long johns and have money to burn this is the place to go. All the seafood tastes the same.

Came here with my dad to get some oysters; we were seated and lied to. Before we came we called and the staff told my dad that they had oysters on the half shell and lots of it. When we get here we were given a table and our menus. As I was strolling the menu I had noticed the prices were a bit high and that this place originated from Mississippi. Our waiter seemed new and polite. My dad ordered us oysters on the half shell and then the waiter left to walk into the kitchen. When he came back from the kitchen he said that they didn’t have anymore oysters. I was thinking that can’t be right because we just called and they said they had some. When we heard that we both left because they had lied to us on the phone. We only came for the oysters since the prices for everything else was expensive. They didn’t even have beer for my dad. My dad wanted beer and they didn’t have any. We won’t be back; terrible service!

I know this place is popular for its catfish and I know there’s a giant neon glowing catfish on the sign, but I came for the catfish’s little bug friend in the bayou known as the crawfish. I arrived with my entourage(just kidding) of 7 an hour before closing, and we did feel like jerks, but they had crawfish at $ 4.99/pound — cheaper than Floyd’s(7.99) up the road — and we had an international Canadian visitor and we were also having our Habemus Papam(We Have A Pope) party there. Pope Francis, so St. Francis, so Animals, so Crawfish. QED. It’s open seating so sit wherever you like. Or, at least we did. Drink orders came quickly, and since we were all there for the crawfish, we just had to decide on how many pounds and what sides and appetizers. We all shared the fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, and spinach and artichoke dip. The pickles and dip were average, but the fried green tomatoes were awesome. Only 9 or so came in the basket, so they went fast. The crawfish came out quickly and by the blessing of new friend Pope Francis who blesses us across the border, they were religiously delicious. We had a diverse group: a syrupy Canadian, 5 proud Texans, and a south Louisiana Cajun transplant. Even he said these crawfish were good. The seasoning was on the outside, quite gritty but delicious. It gave a consistent burn, but one that wasn’t too overwhelming enough to not allow you to appreciate the mudbugs. They were small to average, I will admit, but we are just now entering peak season. The corn and potatoes were extra, $ 0.50 for 2 small potatoes and $ 0.50 for one half cob. Service was alright, and since we came in an hour before close, I didn’t expect the best, but we were mostly well attended. Our server consistently refilled drinks, given a few reminders. But after 9 hit, I couldn’t help but notice extremely obvious glares and stink eyes from other servers and hostesses. There were three or four other full tables still hanging out after close, but apparently since we were the largest and possibly loudest table, we deserved the pointy end of the stick. Please don’t stare, it’s rude. When we were paying the hostess, we were given the local gossip dish with an apparent rough break up between two people involved at the restaurant. Angry Suzie Q. was staying with Cathy Cashier, but Tall Guy with the Hair wanted Angry Suzie Q. to stay with him. Angry Suzie Q. wasn’t talking to Tall Guy with the Hair, so clearly, even though we were just your average 9:30PM guests paying their bills, we knew that the situation would be bad and we were being told how bad it would be. We felt like we were listening to an airing of War of the Roses and couldn’t do anything about it but give our debit card to get out of there. There’s a bar and patio next door that offered(mostly country) karaōke where our Cajun Idol sang a song, while we had a few beers, then left. I don’t know if the kitchen stays open or what the drink prices were. I came for the crawfish for our Pope Party and that’s all.

Vintage saloon interior with odd and out of place hipster banners like the GAP. And the wait staff will bring hard liquor to your table. Greeted by hostesses and promptly whisked through the dinning area to a nice clean 50’s looking wooden breakfast style table. Like grandma’s house. The recommendation is of course Catfish, their staple for existence. Catfish — Clean, fresh and crunchy but still catfish. So as good as it can possibly get, t’s still like having the best Microwaveable pizza. Nothing to get excited about, bland like Mr Roger’s sweater. Hush Puppies — Better than most I’ve had. But it’s just fried corn dough. Cole Slaw — Again above average, still just some diced up veggies. Before this visit, I liked catfish as much as having a flat tire during a thunderstorm. Now catfish may have moved up on the«disgusting creatures to avoid list.» But until evolution or genetic altering happens, it’s still a muddy bottom sucking noodling candidate. If you want a hangout like a Leave it To Beaver’s set, pound hard liquor, and have so so food, this could be your new spot.

This is more of a 3 ½ on my view. This place is worth visiting. Considered time of arrival around 2:00 so I did not get to view how this place gets at the lunch rush. At this time when I walked in it seemed a little small but on the way out I noticed there were other rooms so that is a plus. Parking is VERY ample for this establishment, rush or no rush. You know those model homes on the freeway where you drive by and it just looks like a house for demo? Well if you are not from this area, what you see from the outside may have you thinking like that. It is a good thing though, very very clean outside, the landscaping does not have the place jumping out«come in, we’re a restaurant that is trendy with the others», no, it’s subtle, eye pleasing and did I say clean? My food buddy and I were greeted with a cheery manner but I could not remember if we were able to set ourselves down or were seated by someone because I was too busy trying to be aware of my surroundings but the first thing you will notice is every table is lined with brown paper. I really like that set up because I think about the bacteria factor on tables that get wiped from the same clothe over and over and over getting transported to other tables and sometimes you get one that is sticky where your arm sticks to the table when you lift. Enough about that, just wish most restaurants did this, not eye pleasing but I would rather pick up my food that dropped on the brown paper than a table that has had 1001 other people’s arms and stuff previous right? The service here is ok, very attentive at first but the waitress kept on forgetting things over and over, no big deal, everybody makes errors once… twice…uh three times? Write the things down if you can’t remember! She meant well though, not a smirk on her face and up beat attitude. Our food got to the table, the mozzarella cheese sticks need to be relabeled«Amazonian Cheese Sticks» omg these things were huge compared to what I am used too, you know, the shrinky dinky 4 inch long ¾ inch teasers. These must have been about 6 inches by at least 1 ¾ in circumference. Ok guys, stay on track, keep your mind out of the gutter. There was not a stale moment with the breading, the cheese was cooked/heated all the way through and the marinara sauce that accompanied it had a good normal flavor. Did not look like it came out of a can if it did. Food gets to the table, eye pleasing, good portion. I got the $ 17 trio oysters, shrimp and crawfish tails. Everything tasted ok, did not throw a party in my taste buds but was good. The only thing I can say that I was disappointed about was the tarter sauce. I can understand this is probably for cost measures but not a fan of that«out of the bottle/gallon jug see through stuff that does not have too much flavor. A sauce sometimes can make or break a meal believe it or not, the fried seafood is the other factor but like I said it was not disappointing. The oyster coating was a little on the hard side but I discarded a little of that the flavoring and what was left of the breading was good, I must be a fan of the fine bread crumb coatings I just realized. The crawfish tails were decent, I am thinking someone back there deep fried the food about a minute too long, you know, border line over cooked but still edible. The fried shrimp were a little better since they did not use the coating on the oysters and crawfish tails. I tried my friend’s fried okra and THAT my friends was very good. Well seasoned and that seemed cooked just right. Ever have the fried Okra at the Carriage House on the North side? It was just like that, I did not think I could find anything comparable so soon. The cocktail sauce for the fried shrimp, almost excellent! You can tell the hint of horseradish in it, it was not over powerly strong but you get that«zing» with every dip. The cole slaw, it is not your sometimes large shred cabbage but more leaning towards the minced texture so do not expect to get a texture crunch from this side dish here. What I can tell you is it was a bit creamy and sweet on the good side. I liked it a lot, large shred or not it was good, if you do not like semi sweet cole slaw then you might want to move on. My side of garlic mashed potatoes, did not have a strong garlicy taste so I could blow my food buddy away but it did have flavor. They did not over do it with whatever they mixed in here nor was it bland. I do not venture this far south but if I ever do this place is DEFINITELY a doable place again. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Tip to new Unilocalers: If you are reading this on an Android platform, go through your browser through the site and you will see a «talk» section as well as other things you did not know that goes on behind the scene. While returning from Crystal Beach one Sunday afternoon I was craving seafood. The person I was with wanted to get on the road and go home and it took me all the way to League City to convince him we should get some seafood. As soon as I walked in I knew this would be an old school fried platter kind of place. As we were seated we were served warm, fresh hush puppies. I was immediately sold on this place. I am a sucker for hush puppies. There were delicious. For my entrée I ordered half fried oysters/half fried shrimp. The shrimp were delicious. The batter was crispy and delicious, no complaints. The oysters on the other hand tasted a bit off. They tasted a little too much like a raw oyster. Maybe they were undercooked or not good oysters to begin with? Not really sure. The sides were just ok. Fries were large steak fries. Coleslaw was bland as could be, probably Sysco pre-packaged stuff. All in all I’d happily go back if I’m ever in the area.
