Toby’s American Grill

The food wasn’t eatable but staff were all beautiful and smiling. I kinda wondered if food was what they were selling. I’m sorry, but that really is what I thought. I only went there one time… and I’m a woman so maybe that is why I wasn’t crazy about it.

I liked the food. I thought that the prime rib sandwich was really good. And the cat fish poboy and chicken fried steak looked good. They have a good selection of beers .And the menu is big. And the service was Ok. I thought that the noise level was way to high. But I would most likely go back.

Poor service, food was horrible and price was too much for quality.
We were a family of 5 when we dined. It took them 20 minutes to seat us (we were the only ones in line) then it took another 10 for our drinks to be ordered, which were wrong. After ordering a burger, catfish, ribs, chips and queso and prime rib, the only thing consumed was the ribs and catfish. I ordered a Margarita (which was good) and everyone else ordered water or tea. The price was too much for the quality of food. I would say if your looking for a place to drink and have apps, then this may be the place, but dinner wise. I would pass. Two stars for the Margarita, the rest should be forgotten.

Made Toby’s our choice to watch the Clemson/​Alabama Game. The 25oz draft Shiner Boch in a frosty mug was a great way to start the night! The Habanero Deviled Eggs were good, but not spicy at all. A little disappointing and over priced. However, the Bacon and Egg burger was on point. The only downfall would be that I received a well done burger when I asked for medium. Overall, great atmosphere, definitely try it out.

I heard that since changing from Big Dog Daddy’s to Toby’s American Grill things had gotten better and the menu had been changed significantly. I got a bacon and egg burger and mine was fine. My youngest daughter got catfish and loved it. My fiancé and oldest daughter got meatloaf. It was horrible! They looked like they got meatloaf from two different batches. My fiancé got 3 tiny slices that were about a ¼ inch to ½ inch thick. My daughters was so spicy (which the menu did not say it was spicy nor did our server mention it when my child ordered it) she could eat it. I tasted it and it taste like jalapeño juice. These plates were $ 14! They are trying to have OKC prices in Lawton and that doesn’t work! My service wasn’t great but she was nice. My fiancé and 4 year old ordered root beer thinking it was fountain and our server didn’t tell us otherwise. She brings out two bottles (which we wouldn’t have ordered since they are not free refill not the root beer they like) so I had to send my daughters back. Towards the end of the meal when we were all done she was awkwardly standing at the table and finally says «so do y’all want your check or something?» This place was much better when it was Big Dog Daddy’s and it wasn’t that good then! We will never be back!

The portion sizes here for the price are terrible! Have ate here twice first time got the salmon and stew great flavor small portion was over 25 $ with tip for lunch! Recently decided to give them another chance orders taco salad WOW smallest salad ever for $ 8 looked like side salad should say such. Won’t be back prices are to high for portion size. Especially in Lawton !!

Way to expensive! Same menu as before with a minimum increase of $ 3 to $ 5 per meal. Will not be back!

Food was good. I was disappointed that a burger place didn’t have onion rings. After I asked the waiter he told me they have Jalapeño fries instead. I ordered them. They came in a container same size as the side of fries. They were good but I was shocked when I saw they were $ 8. More than the burger and fries combined.

First the good: super friendly staff, clean comfortable bar/​dining room, super-​sized televisions for watching games, and an excellent beer and cocktail selection. Wine selection was pretty generic and uninspired but they had a nice variety. Food menu had all the usual bar favorites and the food I saw around me looked well presented and tasty.
I got the chili dog and jalapeño fries. I tried the regular all beef hot dog but you have your choice of that, a brat, or jalapeño sausage. Next time I’ll try something else, the regular dog was pretty flavorless and the texture was mushy. The chili was mild and tasty and the cheese was good, and not too much. The onions almost seemed like they were grated, which was somewhat odd, I like good old fashioned diced onions personally. The onions tasted old/​overpowering but that might be due to the fact they were grated. Bun was toasted but it was toasted too long because it was dry and hard. The side of jalapeño fries were good, not too spicy, but they seemed like they came out of a box, not housemade.
The all day Sunday happy hour was nice, good deals on domestic beers.
Now the bad. We sat at the bar, we prefer to eat at the bar when we can. However, we won’t eat up there ever again. There was a very offensive racist bumper sticker as well as THREE really stupid bumper stickers containing poop or fart jokes. Which would be fine if we weren’t there attempting to eat dinner. Fifth grade potty humor aside, I can’t think of anything more unappetizing than poop and fart jokes personally.
We’ll try again, it’s a nice stop. Next time, though, we’ll grab a table!

This place was ok — The waitress was prompt to get to us for our drinks and appetizer.
We ordered two Bud Lights and a cheese fry appetizer. We actually got our appetizer before our beers — I was baffled by this as there was hardly anyone in there. As we were enjoying our drinks the waitress came by and asked if we were ready to order our entrée’s — I replied that we wanted to drink our drinks and enjoy the appetizer for now. Within 10 minutes our waitress asked us the same thing 3 times, «are you ready to order your food now?». Feeling pressured — we ordered our food. My wife had the ALT and I had a burger — I’d say the food was good but not what you would expect for the price.

Great food. Went in curious. My husband ordered a philly cheese steak, my dil a onion burger and I had the catfish. They were able to finish their meals – barely. I managed to finish hLf of my catfish. All three meals were huge. About 9.00 each. Tea etc 2.50.
They didn’t skimp. We had a great waitress. They had music but it wasn’t overbearing. Country. We tried the nachos. Yummy cheese but it was a bit too thick. And as it cools it gets thicker to solid! So if hi order nachos, eat quick

Food was good. Went Saturday evening and was sat really quick. I tried to play some songs on the jukebox, but some dude who played really crappy music started playing and my music wasn’t even paused and left to play muted. It was a mood killer.

Wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. For an ice house their beer selection wasn’t impressive. I was expecting a beer menu specifically for draft and craft beers from all over the place. My wife and I are beer enthusiasts and love to try new beers so it was disappointing to say the least. Their beer selection can easily be acquired at the gas station. So blah to that! Food: We ordered queso fries and this is why they got 3 stars! They were delicious! Also ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken pieces were cubed a bit small for my liking. Our server took forever to bring our food & drinks and we waited about twenty minutes to receive our bill. Overall we were not impressed, minus the fries.

The burgers, BLTs and Nachos were a good size for the price and were delish! The service was pretty good; friendly and clean atmosphere

If you’re a fan of whiskey and slushies, try their Jack Daniels frozen drink. It was strong, and by strong, I mean loaded with Jack. It was almost too much but definitely worth the buck. The Jalapeño cheese fries were okay. Just tasted like velveeta cheese poured on top. The Hot wings were… greasy. Just swimming in a pool of grease and a little sauce.

This places food was alright at best… but
They aren’t to expensive… which is nice! I have to agree with my
Wife. They only payed attention to me and never asked my wife something. She’s the one in charge so I don’t know why they would favor me over her

Soo the food is very good. I got a veggie pizza & my husband got a chicken cheese «steak» both were so delicious! The service on the other hand was the worst ive ever had. The waitress’s dont know how to serve.
They ignore you the whole time. I had to ask another server for another drink while they paid alot of attention to my husband. Drinks are very nice. First time i ever had a shot in a ice glass! But will i be back … No. ill defiantly order out next time.

First when you enter Big Dog Daddy’s it’s really cool your welcomed by a hostess who will ask how many is in your party and your name, cell number. You will be contacted via text message when your table is ready. Once seated we noticed how roomy it was and that they had a full bar that sells both beer and alcohol. This place would be great for games and events due to the fact it has ten Tv’s around and centered in the restaurant. We ordered our food and it a while our waitress informed us with out us flagging her down that she would check on our food. Our food arrived shorty and we enjoyed our meal. I ordered the chile cheese hotdog with fries topped with cheese and bacon bits. We also had their spicy dogs (pigs in a blanket) all were very good. Menu is simplified Burgers, Hotdogs and Sandwiches. Large selection of beers and alcohol is a plus. Hope you enjoy this new restaurant here in Lawton.

Pretty good food! Great music, good service. A little pricy compared to other restaurants of its type but all around it’s pretty good.

This place is pretty awesome for starters! The inside looks awesome and like a place you would want to come and hand out with your friends! Not a whole lot of options in Lawton. But this is definitely a place to come and check out. The appetizers are pretty amazing. Just the right amount of sauce on the wings! Pigs in a blanket were amazing with the honey mustard dipping sauce! The only thing that made this place not a 5 star rating was the selection of beer. I figured since it was an ice house there would be not selections than there were. All in all this is a place I will be back to many times over!
