Love the kitschy vibe and the expansive menu. I would give it 5 stars but our food took FOREVER. I asked a server if they were understaffed and she said no, they staff light so the servers can make more money. So not particularly customer driven… otherwise, great meal and ambiance, if you have 2 hours to spend in a diner.

The food was good but the order was wrong. And the thing that earned them a 1-star rating was the cockroach that ran across the seat back in front of me. One cockroach means an infestation. The health department should inspect.

Pretty cool little place, inexpensive but good breakfast. They’ve got the whole nostalgic(I think it’s probably all original) Route 66 diner thing going on in there. Certainly worth checking out.

If you are looking for the small Mom & Pop Truck stop feel, this is the perfect place for you. It is quaint and quiet. Its not the same place it was in ’99, but it still holds true to its roots. The staff is warm and friendly, and they remember patronage. They offer a great home style breakfast and a decent Big Chef burger at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a try.

It’s a diner. It was retro before retro was cool. Saturday brunch on a summer day. It was cool and peaceful, even though it was over half-full. Facilities were clean and homey. Service was a little slow since they were understaffed, but pleasant and friendly. Four police officers were there, so we knew the coffee was potent. The French toast was delicious, but the hash browns came a little late and were uninspiring. Saving the best for last, the«Monterey» is an omelette inside their Indian Taco(Indian fry bread, sort of like an elephant ear /fried dough). It was amazing. Hot, crispy outside, fluffy inside with well-cooked eggs and decent cheese. Accompanied by home fries with cartelized sweet onions. We went home with leftovers. I can’t wait to go back for dinner!(Three stars only because of the late hash browns and coffee refil).

I have been going to the Big Chef for a couple of years. Ever since the two older waitress left, the place has gone to crap! The sausage is like leather and the time it takes to get your food is slow. One exception is when Laurie, the only female cook is working. She get’s your food out fast and cooked right!

This is a cool divey diner with super fast and friendly service. I grew up in dive diners with my dad and grandpa, so I felt right at home. My friends said I needed to try the Monterey, which is eggs and cheese in fry bread with a side of salsa. OHMY! NOM! NOM! NOM!!! I liked it. I kind of seperated my eggs and fry bread, but I still really really liked it. Our server was super great and had a fun sense of humor. I’m going back to have an Indian Taco next time!

Long wait average food This place calls itself a diner. It is open 24⁄7 like a diner but that more or less is where the similarity ends. I went in there a couple nights ago for the first time to try something different. It really wasn’t that crowded in there but it still took about 20 minutes to be helped. After we finally ordered(which took two different people to take) we waiting another 40 or so minutes — a full hour since we had sat down — to get our food. In the mean time the waitresses and line cooks were very vocally cussing at one another. Not something I particularly mind, especially at a diner, but could be discouraging to someone with children. They are known for the Indian Taco there so I ordered that. My wife got a Turkey Club. Neither was that great. The Indian Taco was not special at all and certainly not worth an hour wait. My wife was not impressed with her club either. Overall I do not think I will ever be going back here. Hopefully this was only a fluke for them, but it only takes once to never want to go back again.
