One day of good service in 2014… Since 2011 this place was falling fast… been there since it opened… glad to see it close. Better service and choices in Laurel now… a shame because Silver Diner is usually top notch. Maybe they will bring it back and improve service.

I was very lucky to visit this Silver Diner branch on my last trip to Laurel in 2013. When I came again at in late March 2016 I didn’t realise this would be my final visit. Imagine my shock to discover on the last day of my Holiday in America that this venue was then closed after 25 years! WOW. Their lease had finished between the first week and last week of my trip! A lovely«traditional» venue from a business with great locally sourced values! This was my number one place to visit in Lauel. My final meal was chili turkey soup and a half sandwich which was a good as I’d expected after a 3000 mile flight! Then they do a one scoop ice cream sundae which is just lovely! I’m hoping they have other branches that are in this old style diner type space but I’m sure that some are much more modern given their great modern approach to food sourcing. Long Live Silver Diner!

Great alternative to unhealthy, late-night bar food. They support local farmers because they get their food/produce from them. Great selections, my favorite so far is the Pesto Burger(antibiotic & hormone — free beef) but they also make a mean Reuben. Awesome service with awesome music as well(they have a jukebox at every table).

I moved away from Maryland last summer and whenever I come home to visit the first place I want to go is Silver Diner. Their menu has managed to take classic diner fare and make it with healthier, fresh, local ingredients. Food wise, everything I’ve tried has been amazing. I would highly recommend the pesto burger and the caramel French toast. Their milkshakes are also delicious, albeit a little high priced. Service here has consistently been excellent as well. They are friendly, efficient, and helpful. It’s safe to say Silver Diner is one of my favorite restaurants. Whenever someone visits from out of town it’s one of my go-to places to take them, and I’m certain I could eat there multiple days in a row without complaint! I would highly recommend this place.

Completely underwhlemed by the experience and the food!!! When we arrived we stood at the door for 5 minutes while several staff walked right by us as if we weren’t standing there. An African looking guy, who appeared to be a manger, was wandering around looking lost and offered no assistance. Finally after I flagged a waiter down we were seated. The food took 20 minutes to come out, which seemed long considering I got turkey chili and my husband got an omelet and the place wasn’t too busy. The turkey chili was mediocre at best. I ordered a side of tortilla chips and 3 big wedges that tasted something like burnt paper plates is what I received. I sent them back. The omelet had no taste so we added lots of seasoning at the table to fix that. 5 minutes after we sat down the couple across from us got up. We sat for 45 minutes and stared at their dirty dishes and leftover food for our entire meal. I was so disappointed with this place. I get the concept, but the execution was just terrible and the staff were the worse. Whoever owns this place should send in secret guests and get rid of the dead weight and retrain the cooks. We went around 5pm on a Sunday evening and the staff were all really young and seemingly uninterested in working and the manager seemed lost. I won’t be coming back here again.

I will give this diner a 4.5. Consistent staple in the neighborhood, always clean, great location . I’ve eaten several things here and have brought friends who’ve requested the diner. But… I have to be honest. I really come here for 1 thing. The Oreo Deluxe Malt… not the shake, I need malt in mine. I might even order double oreo. I can’t get this anywhere… not even Ben and Jerry’s…too Foo Foo, too frilly… but this malt is down home malt with a wide straw, milk, chunks of Oreo(and malt… again). Indulgent behvaior. I have this place on my speed dial so I can order when I’m on my way home and want to swing by and pick it up so I can sip on it at home. Anyway…people.come far and wide to visit our Diner for a reason. Enjoy…

Very mixed review! The waitress was very nice. The food was ok. For the breakfast to cost 61.00 I expected a whole lot more! 13.00 for Western Egg White Omelette and 6.00 for a Belgian Waffle … I will stop there. Who knew substituting items for a healthier breakfast would b this costly. My last breakfast here!

Everything was wrong with this resturaunt i asked for a hibiscus lemonade with no ice and the waiter looked at me like i was crazy. They have very poor attention to detail. But the manager =Carlos= Saved the day, the food was great, nut still if you get a waiter named Fazal ask for someone else to serve your food

Distance does not deter me and would make my way to get here. I like coming here because the staffs are friendly„ and the food is fantastic. Their vegan option is creative and tasty.

Nothing special here. The food was decent but nothing to rave about. My husband cobb salad was better than the greek salad that I ordered. The cup of vegetarian chili was good although it should have been hotter. it was closer to th elude warm side. Their breakfast menu looked really good but I wan’t in the mood maybe I should have been. Our waitress was very kind a patient and even helped us decide which size salad to get. The only downside is the smell of this place. It was not very pleasant when I walked in. It almost smelled like maybe the sewer line had been backed up or maybe they left dishes in the sink too long. IDK. Either way we still ate here and the smell went away after a little. The sundae was good though. Nothing special, A scoop of brewers, strawberry topping please and some walnuts. It was a nice little ending to my salad. I would probably return for milkshakes and breakfast.

Silver Diner is a great inexpensive restaurant, with both great service & great food! Me and my friend ordered breakfast items. From the bagel, eggs, bacon, French toast and sandwich can’t complain!

I’m from NJ the diner central of the world and I approve of this place. I had the power breakfast which was egg whites topped with spinach turkey bacon and mushroom with fruit on the side. The good was top quality and really well done. This place is a must have if your on the area and need a decent quality breakfast. The service exceeded my expectations and every server seemed happy to be there and smiling.

The people at Silver Diner are always upbeat and on top of things. Thats a real pleasure. The food is selection is an odd combination of classics and oddities. Pancakes and eggs, and then coconut crusted salted caramel french toast. My personal favorite is the regular caramel french toast. Its thick and not overly sweet. I’ve never disliked anything I’ve ordered and its one of my go to breakfast places. The fried shrimp basket is good also. Give em a try.

Siver Diner=An American Diner with a healthy focus! I’ve been frequenting Silver Diner in Laurel consistently for about 10 years now and have seen many changes, all for the better. They now offer some wonderful vegetarian/vegan meals. Aethestic Appeal & Atmosphere: It’s a Diner style restaurant in its appearance and style. Service: The waiters/waitresses are friendly, fast, and attentive. Meal & Drink Quality: Their breakfast is simply awesome as they offer a fine selection of omelettes to their delicious Paradise Island French Toast topped with shaved coconut. They offer some good lunch specials featuring healthy & tasty sandwiches, soups, and salads. Their dinner offerings are quite good as they include an interesting variety of meals from a delicious meatloaf, to chicken pot pie, to a seasoned salmon filet.

Wow… this place looks like any regular diner but the food is definitely not just greasy diner fare. The portions are a healthy size and the flavor are amazing. We had the vegetarian huevos rancheros(so delicious) and Belgian waffles with eggs. Waffles were soft but with crispy edges. Great weekend breakfast spot, and it’s busy but our wait ended up being less than 10 min.

Ok so I have mixed feelings about Silver Diner, so let’s start with the good… I love that this place has the diner feel but the menu is that of a more conscious, eclectic local eatery. Gluten free, veg and vegan options galore. The menu is interesting and makes it quite difficult to choose just one thing! I’ve only been here twice and, over all, I’ve enjoyed the food. My most recent visit I decided on the coconut crusted French toast(which normally comes gluten free, but they made mine with a typical brioche-style bread upon request). It was scrumptious — came with strawberries :) i also got home fries which were a major disappointment! It looked like a handful of over cooked chunks of potato with ZERO seasoning — and it cost me almost $ 3 more!!! Epic fail there. My fiancé got fish tacos which were also yummy! A nice black bean salsa on a corn tortilla. The fish left a bit to be desired, but over all I was satisfied! The entire table was happy with their food, though some of it was cold, including my crappy home fries and the FILs soup(which he had replaced cause no one wants cold soup dude…) The worst part? Well we were made to wait for about 45min!!! Not because they were busy and packed — no, there was plenty of seating. Because someone in our party had a stroller with a baby. They never mentioned that the stroller was the reason we were waiting a century to be seated, just kept walking by us and glancing overwrite a look that was like«I wonder where they’re gonna sit???» When we found out it was the stroller that was hindering our gastrointestinal bliss, we switched the kiddo into a car seat and finally got seated! Then, it took forever to actually get our order in and receive our food(hence the cold food). We were enjoying each others company, so while we were annoyed by the experience, we hadn’t said anything about it. The manager came to our table, apologized for the long wait and offered us 20% off the check and gave us all vouchers for a free entrée. Very nice, right? Well we got our check — no discount. Had to have them re-ring it. And few of the vouchers were missing a managers signature — had to hunt her down and get them signed… All in all — it was a mixed bag experience. I give the food a B+, the service a C, and the hospitality a B+(+ because they did make an effort to remedy the situation on their own, which counts for a lot in my book).

I have been frequenting Silver’s Diner in Laurel for close to a year now. I only order breakfast so my review is based off that. The service has never been a problem regardless of the time or day I’ve gone. The waitresses are always polite. The food is AMAZING. I am big on variations of french toast and the Banana Stuffed French Toast just does it for me each time. I love the breakfast food here. Oh and the mango mimosa is sssssooooo good. I do find the coffee terrible though. The restaurant itself could use some updating. It looks a little worn and old. Overall i will continue to go here for breakfast.

Great food, locally sourced and all made in house. Most is organic(even organic ketchup at the tables). Many gluten free and vegetarian options. And all the food is good, though sometimes a little expensive(nearly $ 3 for 2 slices of bacon). It’s quality bacon, but still… over $ 1 a slice? Come on. That’s the reason they don’t get 5*. Service is always friendly too.

Amazing selections wish I had this place in my city I’m a fit freak and annoying health food«order-er». But I mKe no apologies, I like what I like. This place was a jewel. I underestimated this amazing restaurant because it appeared to be a greasy spoon sort of diner. I drove right past it for 2 days before getting the nerve to walk in for a lye night cup of coffee. Best damn decision I’d made all weekend!!! They had everything I wanted and more: Quinoa pancakes, kale salad, beets, goat cheese, breakfast, lunch, dinner, salads, OMG! I was in heaven. I hated to leave but then I saw an airport location in my terminal Don’t let the looks turn you off, this place is amazing.
