Applebee’s

We got Applebee’s car side pickup back in December. When we arrived to pick up our food, there were multiple employees standing outside smoking, which I always find pretty tacky, and gross. They seemed to know that too because when we pulled up they moved back around the building.
We waited a bit before someone even came out to the car. When we got back home to eat, the food looked absolutely pitiful in the boxes, maybe what we ordered just doesn’t travel well, or maybe it was just prepared horribly, either way, we won’t go back to this location. We only even chose Applebee’s because my boyfriend had a giftcard, typically I try to avoid these types of chain restaurants.
He ordered a Ceasar salad, it came with no dressing, completely dry. For dinner I had ordered the Shrimp Wonton stir fry which ended up being a pretty pathetic portion and not very good. My boyfriend ordered the Cedar Grilled Lemon Chicken, which again was a pathetic portion and not very good. Overall it was very disappointing.

Standard fare, but I appreciate the calorie-​counted options. The Thai shrimp on salad was tasty and lowest cal item on the menu.
Beware, though, the electronic games on the tables. They cost 1.99 to play. This will show up in your bill automatically if you start playing. Service was good, noise level fine.

Applebee’s has been flooding the airwaves touting their new burger menu. And if you were to believe the marketing, these are the best burgers since the creation of the burger.
Hardly.
I tried the Blazin’ Texan, which has onions and jalapeños «seared in». It’s topped with «brisket», fresh sliced jalapeños, cheddar, and their «signature grill sauce».
All of the quotes are necessary because Applebee’s has either created marketing terms to describe the burger’s components, or the toppings are not what really they claim they are.
The burger patty itself is quite good. Tender, with a pleasant beefy flavor. The bun is ok, but everything else is of low quality and it brings the whole burger down.
The signature grill sauce tasted like cheap, overly sweet BBQ sauce to me. The cheddar, bland and flavorless. The brisket was drenched in the same cheap BBQ sauce, and was mushy and flavorless.
And this is the issue with Applebee’s in general; most everything is overly processed and of low quality. It’s sad because Applebee’s has gone to the trouble and expense of selling a quality beef patty, only to ruin the burger with lots substandard toppings.
In Latham, there are so many places to get a great burger there is absolutely no reason to bother with Applebee’s.

We had visited this location three times in as many months after previously having a zero tolerance Applebees policy in our family. New menu was going well for us for the first two visits and the staff was executing well. Then there was the third visit. The wings, that had been good before, were crap and they did not get another menu item right after two tries from the kitchen. The manager was helpful and did what he could but I don’t have high expectations of this franchise, they go back to the hell no list.

What’s happened to Applebees? Tonight was my first time there in almost 2 years. The portions were anemic! When my friend and I got our plates, we literally had a laugh. We thought we got portions from the kids menu.

The place has a good overall atmosphere but they had a slight mixup with our orders and the refills for drinks were overpriced, but there is a good deal for good food

Was driving to Vermont recently and we stopped in here for dinner. The first sign something was wrong was there was no wait on a Friday night. Service was extremely slow. Spoke to the manager Matt and he was very nice and took care of us. Food was very good despite the delay.

Decided to have Applebees 2 for $ 20 today for lunch so I called in the order. I was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes and gave them the make and color of my vehicle so they know when I’m in the parking area. I arrived within 30 minutes to allow extra time in case they were running behind. When I arrived, I waited in the to go lot and no one came out. So I waited an extra 10 minutes. Still, no one.
What’s the sense of carside to go if no one is monitoring the vehicles coming in to pick up their orders? I grew tired of waiting, so I went inside. My order was sitting on the counter and no one was even at the cashier stand checking the monitor. It seems as if they were understaffed, yet there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, so I don’t understand why there was even a delay.
Moments later, a waitress came rushing by and asked for my name. She took my payment and had to go by the bar to run the card and back to me. There was a register right in front of the monitor. Guess it wasnt working? I dunno.
Then another car pulled up next to mine. She grabbed their order immediately, and on the way out, she tells me that next time, I should call and let them know I’m sitting out in the carside to go lot.
REALLY? What’s the sense of having carside to go if you’re not doing your job and monitoring the screen? Why should I have to tell YOU I’m there? Isn’t that your job and why you asked for the make and color of my vehicle?
To add insult to injury, the food was really bland and lukewarm. It certainly wasn’t fresh! Never again, Applebees. Lame.

you know what you get when you go chain. Sometimes that is the reason you go to a chain. This Applebee’s is actually one of the cleaner ones in the area. Service is good. Our waitress was attentive to our party of five. Drinks were plentiful and refilled quickly. The food is the same old. I wish they wouldn’t change recipes, two of us had quesadilla burgers. They changes something on that burger and it was not nearly the same. The pretzel breadsticks were new to the menu since we were there last. They were yummy. Spinach dip appetizer is always decent, could have used more chips. We go about twice a year, nothing draws us in more. We will most likely go again some time this year.

I give this Applebee’s 5 stars… it has been a while since I never thought Applebee’s had great food but the food i had at this Applebee’s was awesome (shrimp scampi and chicken Caesar salad). The hostess and servers were beyond nice. If you are looking for that one good Applebee’s this ones probably it!

On a resent this week visit to this location I was very disappointed. First of all, this restaurant doesn’t have anything for a vegetarian. And their 2 for $ 20, or their salads lacks a meal for those who do eat seafood. I ordered my usual Tilapia, roasted potatoes with vegetables. The Tilapia was only a 2 oz. piece of fish, not the usual nice filet. The broccoli portion was about a cup of vegetable. What I got for my $ 12.00 was a plate of roasted potatoes with broccoli and 2 oz. fish as sides.
The waitress was pleasant but un-​attentive. She never came back to the table to offer a refill of the sodas. Charging $ 2.59 for a soda should include at least one refill.
Too bad because this was my last visit to this location.

Although the staff was very pleasant, the food just isn’t that good. Our 7 month old daughter was enjoying tastes of our french onion soup, other than that the meal was not anything to speak of. We usually don’t go there but we had a gift card, now we remember why we don’t go there.

The «1 appetizer and 2 entrees for $ 20» is still there in the menu, that’s a very good deal.

I’m really not a fan of this restaurant. I’ve tried their Ruben and Roast Beef sliders and I couldn’t finish either. Not because of the portion, which lacked, but because of the taste. The service however wasn’t bad.
