The service is still wonderful however I feel that maybe the ownership has changed because the pizza tastes different now(in my opinion). Its still good but it’s no longer the best in town in my opinion

I was craving a Pastrami or Corned Beef Sandwich, so looked to Unilocal to find me a good new purveyor of one off the Strip and where a person could dine inside. So, after looking at some glowing reviews, off I went by myself for a heavy lunch at Rocco’s. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to open the cap on the Nestle Pure Life water bottle I bought here, but that was about the only snag during my visit. I had the best of both worlds by ordering a Regular 8-inch Pastrami & Corned Beef Sandwich with Homemade Potato Chips. Although it took awhile to get a sandwich, it was well worth waiting for. My Regular contained about a pound of meat, and I was told that a Large yields about double that amount What I was ultimately presented with was a nice, very soft bun filled with warm, well-mixed meats, melted Swiss Cheese, and refreshing cool Coleslaw covered by a tasty Russian Dressing. There was no grease and both pastrami and corned beef were very lean but still moist. The sandwich was truly excellent, and I devoured every morsel! It really didn’t need any mustard after all. The Potato Chips were good, but next time I will order the French Fries, which looked even better. There is no waitstaff here but one receives very good friendly and personal service from the lads behind the counter, including a knife and Spicy Mustard furnished quickly upon request. Most staffers did not know the price of this Italian deli’s products well, which were not marked. So the prices had to be looked up on the cash register. Most packaged and canned food items on display(e.g., sardines, pastina, and canneloni beans) that I inquired about turned out to be priced at $ 3.99, which is rather steep. But no one twisted my arm to buy anything, and there is something to be said for the convenience of picking up some original made in Italy treats. So, I purchased a box of pastina. A Unilocal check in here can yield some complimentary dressed up Doughnut Holes, which I think is a generous gesture by the business. But just before I left, I saw one of the employees behind the counter lick his finger after sampling a pastry treat. Then he opened the register with the same hand. So there is room for some improvement in hygiene here. But the pastrami and corned beef are ample cause to lure me back, and I highly recommend this place to all pastrami and corned beef aficianados. Fetching-looking fresh baked goods beckon for those with a sweet tooth as well!

Been here enough to say these guys know how to make a good sandwich. When ever I have a real NY pastrami craving it’s off to Rocco’s I go. I will drive miles out of my way for the real deal. They pile the meat nice and high and will fix it up the way you like it. I prefer provo with lots of spicy mustard and a little mayo. Rocco’s is a great little lunch spot but the small dining area can fill up fast, so if you are in a hurry call for pickup. The pasta dishes I have tried are very tasty and a large portion. I have not been able to try the pizza yet so look for my review update. It’s just because the sandwiches are so good(especially the pastrami.)

Super disappointed in the service we received tonight after discovering this place three years ago. I placed an order at 6:10 for one slice, one calzone, and one antipasti. I was told 45 – 1 hour. at 7:35(almost 1 hour and a half later) I called inquiring about where the order was and was told it would be there any minute. Fifteen minutes later(7:50) we called back and asked for the manager and was directed to Anthony. He told my boyfriend he would immediately call his driver. At 8:10, we still hadn’t received anything. I called back and was told«it will be there any minute». Basically we kept getting excuse after excuse that the driver«was supposed to come to us first but didn’t». Um, not my problem. The driver called me five minutes later and asked what our address was… what??? When I told her she said«that’s why I’m lost, it’s the wrong number», but not the wrong street name, and our street is small. She then told us that the managers had NOT called her to find out where she was multiple times like they told us they did. Then she asked for payment, even though we paid over the phone. Of course when we opened our food, it was cold. We called back ONCE more, honestly merely looking for an apology or maybe an offer to bring more hot food right away. May, who we had spoken to several times, told us there was«nothing they could do about it now because it’s the driver that messed up and was supposed to come here first». Then she HUNGUPONMYBOYFRIEND. Needless to say, there are plenty of other pizza places with much better service that we will be ordering from in the future.

Not really satisfied with the quality of the food here. The pizza was really mediocre. For a place to claim NY style, it definitely fell under par. The sauce was horrible, with a nasty after taste. The cheese was nothing close to special. The crust was flavorless. The food took a long time to be served, and the service was not impressive. Also, on here there are photos of Wise potato chips, they don’t sell them. There are a lot of items that are shown on here that don’t seem to be sold there anymore. Wasn’t what I had expected and I won’t be returning. And they need to take off the NY part because I didn’t find anything New York about this place, besides a deli case, whatsoever.

Food was great I got chicken Alfredo it was delicious can tell they make the sauce with really good parmesan cheese plus the garlic knots are fantastic I thought it was on the pricier side but the portions are good for 3 meals so end up being worth the money Would definitely recommend it

We had their mozzarella pizza at our friend house and it was delicious but when we ordered it 2 weeks later, it was just like eating bread with marinara sauce and ranch, no cheese at all, and u know what?! It isn’t cheep either! So very disappointed with this place and probably won’t buy from them again.

I love Rocco’s! I work nearby, and I get their hot sandwiches for lunch. The service is fast and the staff are friendly. Their cannoli is the best I’ve ever had! I can tell that it’s made fresh since the outside is crispy. The stuffing is also not too sweet and heavy.

I have to say this is the worst Italian place ive had, i ordered chicken marsala which was over 20.00. It was bland, pasta was dripping with oil, the chicken was overcooked, tough and had no flavor. My wife was cutting it with a steak knife and it was still tough. My kids had spaghetti with Marana sauce and they couldn’t finish a little bowl of it. I also ordered a pizza with ham. It was ok but very greasy and not much flavor, i spent close to 60.00 for food that is barely edible. Dont waste your time with this place, i wont again.

Don’t waste your money on the chicken marsala… my steak knife even struggled to get through this tough piece if chicken! What a waste if my hard earned money. They have NO business charging that much for overcooked meat… disgusting!

How is it even possible that this place doesn’t have a chicken finger or chicken wing with a pizza special. When you call a pizza establishment you’re going to want one of these two items with your pizza it’s so common like milk and cookies. So to me it seems like they are trying to maximize their profit. Instead of offering especial to take care of the customer to show them that they want your business. Unfortunately they are out for the money instead of the consumer, and in my book that’s just wrong. So would you rather get all the money today or double the money tomorrow.

We love this place!!! This pizza can’t be beat There was one incident where i ordered online, but the order never went through, and I arrived to find out that my order hadn’t been started. No worries though, I wasn’t in a hurry. I would just make sure to call and confirm that your order’s even been started before you head on over. We’ve never been disappointed in the food, and we’re always finding new things to try with all their bakery items, sandwiches, pastas, and pizzas.

OMG… That bread though! This bread on this sandwich! Ohhhh, so as soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted and I grabbed a menu, I really wanted the pastrami, but I didn’t want to spend $ 12.95 on an 8 inch sandwich. Specially since this was my first visit. So I finally decided to get the Queens, Ham, Salami, pepperoni, and fresh mozzarella, with lettuce, and tomatoes. Ok, so lets get to the bread! I’m not a big bread lover. I very seldom eat it. This was the softest bread I’ve ever had in my life! OMG, that bread was amazing. They bake there bread fresh everyday, and you can tell the difference. I think the bread is what makes the sandwich. Only thing I think(my) sandwich needed was some onions, and pickles, and I would have give them 6 stars! They also don’t have bags of chips… But they bake there own! They were so good, it just wasn’t enough! lol So my next adventure here is going to be is the Lobster Stromboli! Lobster meat cooked in butter garlic sauce for $ 12.95. Ummm Pastrami or Lobster Stromboli! Not a hard decision at all! I’m going to bring my hubby with me so he can try something as well.

This is the 1st place I’ve had a decent stromboli since moving from Philly in 1986. My stromboli of choice includes ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone. Today, I picked up 2 of them to go and ate one on the way home and ate the other this evening :) Also, their Staten Island hoagie is delicious– prosciutto, ham, sopressata, capicola w/fresh mozzarella cheese. Got one of these to bring for lunch at work tomorrow. This location has plenty of tables to dine in or take your order to go! Mouth watering pastries and fresh baked bread are always in my hand as I walk out the door, and of course I left with a bag filled of tasty Italian goodies. Very friendly staff who enjoys hard work and fun conversation! Located in a little retail center kinda hard to find, west side of Buffalo, just south of Charleston.
